Laughing out loud, tried wrapping my 370z roof. Started getting crease along wrap. 45 minutes later, ended chucking the wrap. Be nice to find like a black trim to cover the edges of the wrap on driver and passenger side. Nice vid.
damn i’m sorry about that brotha, that happened to me when I first did my wrap, it definitely made me not wanna try again but here we are, decided to give it another try but this time using 3M and it worked out 💪🏽 i would try checking premiumautostyling’s website they sometimes have stuff like that 👍🏽

What did you use to prep the surface before you layed down the wrap ?? Thank you 🔥🔥
i used isopropyl alcohol right before laying down the wrap, but first i wash the entire roof of the car make sure to get all the dirt & debris out

I was wondering how long this will last last? I don’t have have garage so I have to park outside. I want it looking good for at least 5 years but if it’s only a year not sure if I will do it
It could last up to 7 years if properly maintained! 🤝
Does heat from the sun effect the wrapping process or is it okay to do it outside
I would highly recommend doing it indoors, as I feel like the sun would mess up the wrapping process, since the surface is hot, when you go to lay it down, it’s going to STICK, and it’s going to be hard for you to maneuver it around
got mustang its hardtop plastic rear window is ripped, can I put 3m sticker to fix it?
Honestly I feel like the 3m would hold the ripped window perfectly fine.

honestly i am not sure bro, but if you get a tape measure and measure width & length you’ll get the exact - feet x feet measurements

I have a 2012 should I use the tape or not I do have rubber on each side
i would suggest taking off the rubber molding & tucking it in, that way it will look much cleaner! but be careful when taking them off use a pry tool and be gentle might be brittle & break off the tabs

I wonder if floss could be used as a knife less tape substitute
honestly not too sure, could be but i don’t think it’s sharp enough, the wire that comes with knifeless tape is pretty sharp 😅
I tested it and found that floss will work with a stiffer vinyl like vvivid, however I went with Avery which is more pliable and stretchy so knifeless tape was necessary to get a clean cut. 👍

No heat gun? I’ve seen people apply heat around the surface. It looks great.
not with this specific one from 3M, you don’t need to apply heat, it’s very sticky, so you have to make sure you lay it down the way you want it to or else it’s going to be hard to un stick, thank you brotha, appreciate you 👏🏽

How did the wrap hold up? I’m considering adding rubber grommets myself so the vinyl lasts longer
I’ll make a video sometime this week, to see how long it held up, but it holds up very well honestly, definitely worth investing in.
@@DarielGuerrero upon doing it myself, you did a much better job than me and I’m probably gonna have to redo it lol. The s550 is so wide I had trouble reaching the mid section even at 6’4 so I ended up with a few wrinkles I couldn’t be bothered to fix.

it’s about $70 for the roll for a 5’ x 5’ which is the roof dimensions of the s550 mustang

Dont you need a thermal pistol? Or some other guys spray first and then they use the card.....is this optional?
no this material doesn’t need to be applied with a heat gun, you also don’t need to spray the surface before squeeging it, it comes with a very thin protective film as seen on my video, so you could use the squeegee without spraying soapy water now if you go with a different brand as in Vivid then most likely you would have to do it like you’re saying
you say you used 3m gloss black but we can see on the sticker that it's a vvivid wrap
the manufacturer that resells them is vvivid but it definitely wasn’t vvivid material, vvivid is very cheap and hard to maneuver, the backing paper that holds the wrap says 3m all over it

I tried this on my mustang with the vivvid vinyl wrap, and it was way harder and gave me wrinkle lines that ruined the wrap, i couldnt even get it out with a heat gun, im retuning it and trying the 3M hopefully it is easier to work with
oh yeah way easier, i wouldn’t recommend vivvid, that was the first brand i used & it was horrible, horrible quality & you can’t work with it because of how thick it is, lemme know how it goes with the 3M, you should be good though
tried wrapping my roof with vvivd TWICE, failed both times. Its legit impossible to apply, I wonder how that brand is still alive today.
I’ve got some decal damage on my roof from a previous owner. This is something that was suggested to me, until I get around to actually repainting my ride.
What do you think? Because I feel like this is the way!
I’d definitely recommend it, if the surface is not smooth, i’d suggest sanding it down because if it’s got paint peeling etc you’ll be able to see it once you lay down the vinyl, but if you don’t mind it you could always just wrap over it 👍🏽 let me know how it goes!
