My keyboard was functioning well until it upgraded to windows 11. My laptop is lenovo IdeaPad slim 3. I haven't used it for almost five days since we had a short break from an online class. I was shocked when I opened it, some keys weren't functioning. My keyboard doesn't feel mechanically broken though, it goes smoothly once pressed. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to type the letter c, v, m, h, enter, z, and x. I haven't tried the last method because I was afraid of causing additional trouble. What should I do? Do I really need to replace my keyboard? My laptop is only 1 year old. I purchased it last year, huhu.
Great video - unfortunately after running updates and removing/reinstalling keyboard driver - the Z 4 $ keys on my LG Gram laptop are intermittent and th E is often intermittent, delayed or double displays (causing misspellings). After verifying it wasn't gunk under the keys (I removed them) I took it to Micro-center with a replacement keyboard I bought on Amaon but they said I need one that was already attached to the top/keyboard deck so it would be $500 to replace it (350 parts / 150 labor) and that may not be the issue. They said it could be the OS or the motherboard. Such a pain to use th on-screen keyboard or a USB keyboard. QUESTION> I'm now considering remaping the problem keys to the [ ] \ keys that I nevre used - but am not sure that's possible. Any thougts/suggstions?
Nice video. Speaks clearly and does not waste time. When you go through all of the steps (here, and maybe a few others) and everything checks out, if you decide to replace the keyboard, be certain "to look up the disassembly video for your exact model" before (again, before) you order the replacement board! I had installed an SSD a couple of years earlier in this Asus F555UA and made decent photos, so I thought I knew what to expect. When I opened it up, what was not obvious in my old photos was that there were perhaps 80-100 plastic rivets holding it to the frame, each of which needed to be removed. Afterwards, the new keyboard would have needed to be reattached (glued) at each of those points. Twenty dollars ($20.00) in parts and a thousand dollars worth of my time. It works great on my desk with a USB keyboard. By the way, my new HP, with lighted keyboard, works fine on my lap.

I'm not too sure whether its a hardware or a software problem but I'm leaning towards hardware since I've already updated all my drivers. I'm finding it difficult to find information on my issue since it seems to be a unique case - my q and 8 keys only work if I am holding down another key. For example, if I press spacebar whilst pressing q it will work, but it won't work when I try to press it on its own. Any suggestions or should I just take it into the computer shop?
Thanks for the help! :)
If, after all these steps, you cannot fix your issue, and reseating the keyboard didnt work, consider replacing your keyboard.

when im typing, I also tried using the on screen keyboard and still not typing password,,, hope you help me
Try using an external keyboard that plugs into the USB.
Mine too
After reinstalling the driver my whole keyboard isn’t working what can I do
Me too bruh
Bro what did you do afterwards
if you've also cleaned/checked your keys and it still doesn't work, chances are you'll just need to replace it

Yo! I need some help, I know this was uploaded a year ago, but my keyboard is super delayed when I press on them during games such as Valorant, and Fortnite. For example, I press a button and it plays a second or two after I have already pressed it. You can feel the delay in the keyboard when pressing A D, A D back and forward again during matches. Do you know how to help? Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Does this delay only happen in the games or while typing in a browser or word document too?
@@PC_Monkey The delay happens only while playing games, I can type smoothly in the browser/word document.
@@ayex0 That sounds like a game compatibility issue then if its only happening in the game. Can you update the games as well as your OS as seen here? th-cam.com/video/kX8bB725Ljw/w-d-xo.html. Otherwise, I would contact the game support as they are most likely aware of this issue and may know a workaround.

3:23 so when i tried to repair my S i kinda broke everything even the little thing that makes the button work so is it possible to be fixed?
If any component of the key assembly is broken, it would have to be replaced. I usually get my keys on Ebay or www.replacementlaptopkeys.com. If you cannot find a loose key for sale, you may have to purchase a keyboard and take a key from there.

Very good advise!

I had issues on my keyboard after replacing my battery with a new one. I was able to update the bios on my HP pavilion but whenever I boot up my note book I receive beeping sound for 60 seconds. The funny thing is that it started doing ghost/phantom typing. I was wondering if it has to do with the wiring on the motherboard as the battery is placed above several ribbons?

Thanks for the info. My Dell laptop is OLD, perhaps 8-10 years old, and I'm wondering if it's just not worth sourcing parts and attempting to fix all the glitches. I only use this particular laptop for emails and YT videos. No "processing" type work. I see inexpensive, used laptops all the time for $100 or so, and for MY purposes, maybe that's the best move???
Whats wrong with the computer? If you only use the computer for emails and YT, you may want to get just a small simple Chromebook.

Hi
What if I want to skip the "network" and "online account" steps in the Windows install, but my Asus laptop keyboard will not enable me to type into command prompt (because of missing driver?)?
My only option is to download Windows to a USB and install that way, will the drivers in that install file make the keyboard work?

I've got just one troublesome key. It works, but sometimes will need 2 or even three punches. I haven't pulled it off yet, but feel like it just needs cleaning? What do you use to clean around that little mechanism?
After removing a key cap, I use a rag and or a old tooth brush with a isopropyl alcohol alcohol. It cleans but dries fast. You can see an example of that here; amzn.to/3cDLay7
Thank you for clear explanations with Demo. I have a Dell laptop students model bought in 2014, now the space bar is not working. I live 8n a place where humidity is high. How to fix the space bar please explain.
1. Do the keys feel like they are physically fine or do they feel like they have something mechanically wrong with them?
2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?
