Team 4 appreciates your effort my friend! The lindt ball in an espresso sounds revolutionary! I have a ton of dark chocolate ones left over from a multi pack to do this with haha.
Great video mate. I used my Takumi’s for their 4th run today and it was the best one yet… not sure if it’s because the energy rods have loosened a little but thoroughly enjoyed them on my workout today.
I’ve heard nothing but good reviews about these shoes, but are they worth the buy just for fast 5k? Do you think they are good enough for half marathon and marathon distance Ben?
Personally I think these shoes are very specific for the 5k distance. I’d race a 10k in them but that would be my upper limit. I just personally prefer a little more shoe for the longer stuff :)
Very well done Ben 👏I'm a huge fan of ASICS Novablast as bang for buck I feel a good shoe. Loved the ADIDAS Boston but they kept messing with the fit. May have to try the Takumi Sen 👌
I had the same problem with the laces but with a pair of nike Pegasus 38. They just kept coming undone. I have just bought a pair of Mr. Lacy laces and they work perfectly. No issues
@@BenIsRunning completely. Before I got so frustrated by the laces being the issue. Now I can appreciate the shoe and I realize it’s a great all rounder for me. And my only road shoe at the moment
@@BenIsRunning I am looking forward to see what they are like as i am training for a 5k and will decide to buy vaporfly or streakfly when i run for a big pb
I think the streakfly will absolutely batter the adidas shoe. Im waiting for the streakfly and not even going to bother getting the takumi I already know the streak will be better.
Nice review Ben :-) would you recommend theses shoes only for race purpose or also for fast interval sessions (500m to 2K reps)? Or is the nike streakfly a better deal?
@@BenIsRunning thx for your reply :-) for racing I use mostly met next% shoes, I am looking for a good fast trainer for my faster interval sessions, I am training for a sub 34 min on the 10K now. I doubt between the takumi and the streakfly, what do you think? maybe a other good shoe?
Recently found your channel and must admit I love how normal and relatable your content is! I do have a question; I recently signed up to my first half marathon and having attempted the route today I underestimated it. It is super hilly in the first half but then downhill for the rest and I managed a time of 1:45 which was my initial goal so I am actually quite pleased with it. Do you think 1:30 is achievable in 9 weeks? Or am I maybe being a tad optimistic?! Thanks!
Awesome effort Ben…you made that pace look easy! 😎 I’m thinking of using the Takumi Sen in my next half marathon…thoughts? I’ve ran a 10 mile race in them…so I think another 3 miles won’t be too difficult 🤷🏼♂️
Hi Ben, great run, very inspiring seeing that speed. By my calculations at that cadence you are making a massive 1.81m stride length. Have you got any tips on how to increase stride lengths wether that be from hip extension or getting more airborne etc?
Stride length (at least from my 16 years of running experience) is usually longer when running at a faster pace. I am usually 1.3m-1.4m for my easy/recovery runs and can get up to 1.9m for quicker intervals. I have a midfoot strike and don't over stride. My cadence is usually 170-173 for slower runs and for those 1.9m stride runs its in the upper 180s to mid 190s. I am a bit taller than Ben (191 cm) and a bit slower as well (16:25 5k PB, but that's 8 years old).
A little while ago I bought a pair of sl20 specifically for 5k, and maybe 10k, but they feel really flat compared to my Pegasus and Saucony. Now with your description I’m wondering if narrow foot, minimalist feel, or low stack height, is how adidas builds their shoes.
2 degrees! In the last week I've had 5 days above 40 degrees C. It's been a bit brutal for the moral getting out and running the same place or slower than 3 months ago not knowing how much is just due to temperature.
This guy is fun to watch but hes a bit of a whiner..... If everything isn't perfect he's full of excuses, he ran a 3:00 km and he was acting as if he did everything wrong..... 3:00 is literally 5 seconds faster than his normal pace..... So he's complaining about less than a %3 difference..... Good luck going forward, looking forward to the summer season :)

Was a pleasure being in the team! Dark chocolate isn’t my favourite to be honest but maybe nice in a light roast coffee :)
31.35 10k pace. Not to shabby for running around in circles 😀 good man Ben 👍
i have covid and can’t go running or even go outside so it’s nice to at least see other people running.
Heal up quick, you'll be back out soon.
Hope you recovery quickly! I’m the same though, when I’m injured or I’ll all I watch is other people run 😂
Same here. I got covid and haven't been able to run for more than a week now. Watching Ben run is nice 😂
Unbelievable time Ben - glad you were on team 4! Was also nice to meet you in the gym on the same day we got put in the same team!
Thanks bob! Still can’t believe that 😂 if you ever fancy jumping on the treadmill next to me let me know :)

Keep pushing forward
Thank you wanok
Cracking pace Ben 👍. Good to see no further aggro from your calf. Team 4 must be happy with that run.
Great run and vid as per usual! I must say, seeing the muddy shoes sat on the table next to your food was most disconcerting for me hahaha!
Great run Ben. Go team 4!
Class running mate 👍
Thanks buddy
Love the new branding!
Brilliant Ben :)
Hi ben loving the videos now and just interested what is your VO2 max?
Thank you! My watch currently says 73 but no idea how accurate that is :)

I agree with Ben. I have read most about that being a shorter distance shoe and to out yourself in another direction for longer than that.

Really want to try these, but the streak fly is out soon so thinking of holding off to see what they can do. How do you feel about the streak fly?
Yeah I feel like the Takumi and streakfly are going to be very similar. I’ll pick up a pair for sure when they come out :)

I’d say they are probably better training than racing having now put a few more miles in them. If it’s wet they are the best
