Great video! Thank you! I’ve been out for 2 runs so far. I managed to pick up the Indigo colour way which Is totally gorgeous! Anyway after today’s run of 13km I’ve come to the conclusion that they are so versatile because they excelled at paces between 4:20m/km and 7:20m/km over the 13km. Because I’m a mid foot striker the slower pace didn’t affect the narrow heel so it wasn’t a concern. Anyway Lightstrike Pro is my new favorite midsole foam taking the crown from the NB Fuelcell in my RC Elite 2’s. My favorite shoe ATM is the Takumi Sen 8 😍
What’s the difference to the adios 6 ? I think they are really good for the 5k and 10 k too, feeling really comfortable with them. Love your videos 👍 keep up the good work
I think it’s a fantastic shoe. Definitely at least half a size to a full size too big depending on the individual. Really enjoying them as per my review and it seems you are too 🙌 working for the bigger guys and the whippets 🏃🏻♂️
It’s the oddest thing Sam! I got a 9.5 US, my usual size and it fit like a glove! I wonder if there hasn’t been some manufacturing issues that have caused sizing problems and inconsistencies 😢
@@jasegalaxy74 maybe? But there is also the thing that us and uk sizes in adidas/Nike are different so that could be why? A Nike size 11uk is a us 12, an adidas size 11uk is a us 11.5?
Hi Ben, I wore mine for the Stockport 10 mile on Sunday. Managed to clock a time of 56:27, which was a course pb for me. Like you I really enjoyed running in the shoe, felt snappy and the grip was fantastic in some wet slippy areas. They are a little hard to get on, but great lockdown when you eventually get them on. I can’t wait to give mine a blast over the 5/10k distance. They feel like an old school racing flat but with a little more stack. Good luck with your training Keep up the great content 👍🏃♂️🙌
That’s exactly how they fee for me. It was refreshing not having a huge wedge of midsole under your heel when trying to run fast. Almost forgot what the group felt like :)
Well Ben. I watched this video a while ago and was just wondering how your getting on with them now? Has your opinion changed or? What have you found them slotting in?
The stitched tongue.... I had to take my socks off to get my feet in. That's the only reason I did buy... Otherwise, I certainly would have. I love LightStrike Pro midsole. Great bounce and energy return.
Great first impression review, Ben! 👍 I'm very interested about some 5k shoes as I'm training for a PB on this distance. For now, I'm into Hoka Mach4. Cheers! ✌️
I have been debating about whether to buy these shoes. Based on your review I will go ahead and grab a pair. Besides they are much cheaper than the competitors.
@@BenIsRunning Good luck in the xc, and after your last parkrun I suggest you make sure you are in the correct shoes for the expected conditions! Maybe a podium this time?
Sounds promising. Good review. Other reviews have seen bit more mixed but sounds like a shoe that does best for what is meant for - running fast. Plenty of shoes to go slower in after all. I hope it indeed fits bit long as ordered the largest UK 12.5 which is usually a fraction short for me in these Adizero shoes. adidas UK sizing is usually half size more than say Nike for the same effective shoe length. Well I know a UK 12 in Nike is same as 12.5 in adidas. So is the 8 you have these your normal numerical size?
Yes perfect for speed. Especially on the track they really came into there own. 8 is my usual shoe size but found them a little roomy in the toe box which for me I’d personally try half a size down :)
Hey Ben. Thanks for the great Video. One thing I'm curious about is when you run on the treadmill and clock your paces and times on your watch, do you have a big discrepancy between what the T/m says and what your watch says. Did a run on the T/m today based on effort the time seemed way out. Cheers Steve
Yes the treadmill pace and watch paces are always off for me. I just log the training on my watch and train to effort. I’ve head the power pod things you can get for your shoes are more accurate but I’m not sure.
If its a good quality treadmill then pretty accurate as should be calibrated. Slight digression !!! but often comes up about which is easier, treadmill or outside, yet all world records as far as i am aware are faster outdoors,
Great review. The rods are not carbon but rather something more flexible like the more forgiving material used in the Endorphin Speed, which I prefer. I want to try this one as a fan of the Boston8/9 but am not sure what size to order. I already sized .5 down from my usual size in other brands on those Bostons as well as the Takumi Sen 7. Do I need to go another half size down in these? Everyone says these run .5 size long. Martha
Hi Ben. You say try half size down - but against what benchmark? I wear an 8 in Vaporfly, but 8.5 in Adios Pro 2. What would you suggest for this shoe?
Great review Ben , just a quick question do you just use the speed of the treadmill to get your pace or do you use a footpod eg , Stryd . Excellent content as usual your channel is only going to bet much bigger .
I ran a tempo 5k last night in them for the first time. I love the light weight feeling but I didn’t get that Adios Pro 2 “pop” I’ll give it another go for some faster longer reps to see what’s the deal.
HI Ben - once again another good review. Question, what does the stack height of the shoe relate for the length of a race? I heard you mention about the lower stack for the shorter distance (4:38) but I'm not sure how to connect the two.
For shorter distances the theory is you don’t need the higher stack height/cushioning that you do with say a marathon racing shoe. A lower stack height means less weight potential a faster shoe for the shorter distance. You don’t really need a shoe to protect the legs over a 5k hence why I think a lot of shoe company’s will be moving towards this lower stack ‘super shoe’. That’s my thinking anyway :)
Great video Ben, got my pair last weekend with one run so far, perhaps should have went a half size down. Fit well although a thumb width at the front, felt a touch long.
@@BenIsRunning Ah ok, I liked it!!! 😁 Great video as always, just started running with goals in mind the past 2 months and find your channel great for content. First impression after 50km is amazing. Thanks for doing that.
No problem. I feel it’s important to give a shoe a good few runs before you make any opinions :)

I went true to size and the tiny extra room really helps. As someone that has narrow feet it already runs fairly narrow.

Adidas need to reward you for freely reviewing this trainer
Hopefully one day. My first time running in there trainers and they certainly didn’t disappoint!!
Great video. My Takumi sen 8 are wrapped under the Christmas tree - hope they fit 🤔😃. The Adios Pro 2 are very very good.
Hope you get on well with them! After trying these if love to get my hands on the pros. Maybe Santa will be kind to me :)
This just made me want to get them even more haha

Awesome video Ben! I somehow am more excited about the new balance pacer since it's something new 🆕🆕🆕 this is the adizeropro2 lite
Do you know when the new balance pacer is released? It certainly looks interesting

Ben, I just picked up a pair of the Sen 8’s at half price so looking forward to running in them. Think I may use them for 5k runs this spring.

Try the adizero adios 6. They get better reviews than these in comparison Ben. And I have the 6s and they feel great.

I think 10k I would still pick vaporfly. For 5k though I’m leaning more towards the Takumi :)

What is the difference between this shoe and the adios pro 2? Is it the same design just less stack high or is there more to it?
From what I know is it’s a lower stack but still made with lightstrike pro and rod technology. Upper is also more minimal :)
ive never had an Adidas shoe but my dad swears by them looks like i need to invest in a shoe like this

Yep. The " English thing" is the most similar/same to the German pronunciation. Adidas with no emphasis on the consonants.
