    I don't bid too incredibly often on eBay, but I actually say DON'T "add to watchlist" (for an auction with 0 or low bids) because if there's other people who are also looking to snipe they'll see that they have competition and may raise their bids

      I’ve put in the most random change and somehow I have lost my last 6 bids by EXACTLY 50 cents. And in one bid with 1 second left I was up by 21.78 and still lost by EXACTLY 50 cents. People were going up by a dollar or two at a time and with one second someone guessed that shhh?? I don’t think so. There has to be a way to rig eBay…
      I’ve done every trick in the book and still lost by exactly 50 cents. Another time I was the winning bid and even decided to raise my max bid to avoid that problem. With 1 second I raised my bid even though I was winning and I still lost by exactly 50 cents

    When waiting on a bid. I usually wait until the very last minute to make a bid. That way you can see how many other people bid/watch. It also gives you a chance to weigh your chances of winning. I also find the same item that isn’t included in an auction just so I know when an auction isn’t worth trying to win.

  • @FarmerDanCraft
    @FarmerDanCraft 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    These are all the tricks I use and they really work! One way I do it is, whatever the item is at when it gets to 60 seconds, I double that price and bid that amount in the last 3-4 seconds depending how my Internet connection is at the time.
    So if an item is at 34$ with one minute to go, then I'll bid 68$ at the last 3 seconds. And since eBay bids up for me, sometimes you win it for way less than your max bid.🎉

Sometimes you can feel pressured towards the very end to bid way higher than you’re comfortable with too, just to get that item. I hope you have a better experience in the future with bidding, and I encourage you not to give up. :) You will succeed at least once and it will be worth it. Hey quick question: can the seller say no to an offer even if the time has run out. Okay say for example there is a card for sale and the value of that card is say $100 and people have only bidded $25 for that card and I come last second like you taught us here and bid $35. I mean that’s too low for the value of the card, so can the seller say no or does he have to sell it at that price?

    • @muniroloko3584
      @muniroloko3584 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Technically yes but no. The seller has the option to put a reserve amount which is the minimum price that must be reached for the item to be sold. In your example a reserve could be $70 which is fair for the 100 cd anything below this means the seller can make a new bidding at the end of the current bid session so if the seller had a reserve of 70 and you bid last second for 35 the seller can start another bidding when the current one ends. If there’s no reserve to be met then you get the cd for 35 :)
      Hope this helps. On mobile it tells you ‘reserve not met’ if there’s a reserve or not :)

      You can create a starting price for the auction/bid, so you’re guaranteed to get a price that’s at least $1 more than that when someone places their bid. :) I don’t know if you’re actually allowed to cancel someone’s bid once the auction ends though, because usually, eBay doesn’t let you cancel your bid or cancel your item that you’re auctioning off if the auction time remaining is 12 hours or less. But you could, of course, contact the winning bidder and discuss why you can’t let it go through if you seriously can’t sell off the item I suppose.

      Items in I think 50 and under you have to at least be over by 50¢ so they just entered a higher “mad bid” I’m looking at a card right now around 1800$ and you have to at least bud 50$ over their bid…. If I placed a bid at the last second of even a max bid of say $1950.78 in my case and someone else placed a max bid of $2100 it would be exactly 50$ over what I bid…. …2050.78 so I guess in your cause say the item was at $18 and you bid 21.78 and I bid 30$ max bid eBay would automatically lock me in at ¢.50 higher then you….

    Whats best automatic bidding or sniping? How do you activate automatic bidding? Can I bid on the eBay app? Many thanks!

    • @mountainsunset816
      @mountainsunset816 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      In fact, when you enter your maximum amount, this is not the amount that you actually bided. EBay will automatically increase your bid until reaching that amount. For example, say you entered 75$ and the current bid is 55$, eBay will automatically bid 56$ for you. If someone bids 57$, eBay will automatically increase your bid to 58$ to outbid that person's bid until reaching your 75$ maximum. If someone outbids your 75$, then you can either increase your maximum bid or just stop bidding and looking for somewhere else for a better deal.

    • @mountainsunset816
      @mountainsunset816 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      So when you enter your amount, eBay does automatically bid for you. Also, you can bid on the eBay app. Finally, always always always remember to enter the maximum amount that you think will make you happy if you actually paid for that amount in the end. Ususally, if you win you will pay lower than the maximum amount you entered, which increases your happiness. If you lose in some cases, it means the final amount exceeds the maximum amount that will make you happy, so simply forget about it and look for somewhere else.

      To answer your question, No.
      If they don't outbid you you'll pay less, but bids are usually incremental in slots of x amount, which you can see at the bidding site for the item, usually 5 or 10 euro etc I think on some items atleast, so it might mean you pay 60 euro instead of 56.

    Sniping only beats snipers and only on very common items. I’m bidding on something right now and my leading bid is 351.00 there is a day left in the auction. I expect this auction to go into the final minute at 351.00 This is a rare item that I really want and I expect that there are 1/2 dozen other serious and motivated bidders. Assuming you wanted this item, what would your sniper bid be?...............,,,,,,,,,,, i will make sure my max bid is 101.00 over the current bid. Most snipers are not going to bid 100.00 over the current bid In the last seconds. If your looking at a common item you can can continue to snipe until you win. If your looking at an item that only comes to auction a couple of times a year, sniping is not the way to go.
