    Agadmator/Antonio, I stumbled upon your videos a few months ago. I still don't know what in their algorithm lead TH-cam to recommend one of your videos to me, but it was on point, and I've watched nearly every video you've posted over the last 3 months. You've inspired me to learn about chess. Last night I visited my local chess club for the first time and got destroyed by a Candidate Master. Afterwards, he gave me some positive feedback and a reading list for further study. It was super fun, and I look forward to going back and getting better. You are really starting to hone your format, and notifications that a new video is up are a bright part of my day. Keep up the good work. I am proof that your videos are getting others interested in the game, so I wanted to share that with you.

      Could you share that reading list please? I'm also looking to learn

    • @brettjones327
      @brettjones327 7 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      Eden Moyal Here is his recommended reading list: 'Chess Fundamentals' by Jose Capablanca, 'My 60 Memorable Games' by Bobby Fischer, 'Chess Strategy' by Edward Lasker, 'How to Reassess Your Chess' by Jeremy Silman, '1001 Sacrifices and Combinations' and '1001 Checkmates' by Fred Reinfeld, 'Basic Chess Endings' by Reuben Fine. He did recommend starting with Capablanca, but I am not sure if the rest were meant to be read in the order he gave or not.

Hope this helps someone. Seeing ALL the parts of these GREAT Videos makes them even better.

      Aye, it doesn't really matter who wins or if there even is a winner at the end of it all. Their participation alone leaves a mark in history for all to revel and enjoy.

    • @michaelmassaro4375
      @michaelmassaro4375 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      True to a point but it sometimes can catch you by surprise as the game progresses and a person watching is anticipating some super checkmate from the one player or the other but than you hear it was in this position the players agreed to a draw . Just kind of anticlimactic but of course it can still be an excellent game especially when it’s Legends that are playing

    Thanks! I'm sometimes second-guessing these games, & here I just decided I'd go ahead & comment on one move, since it is the last move of the game before the draw. For move 44, I would've been sorely tempted to play 44 ...B-h2. Black's dark-square Bishop isn't guarding anything, & if Botvinnik enjoys positional play, he might like thinking about that one. Thanks again. Rikki Tikki.

    Two was a pure genius with imagination better than Fischer or for that matter any player who played chess. Such geniuses are rare
    For tal what mattered more was the fun he got from chess than just wining. A breathtaking player who made chess sexy.

    i hope you are not claiming that tal or even botvinnik...could ever hope to be the equal of Capablanca who besides being the greatest endgame player in chess history certainly ranks in the top 3 at LEAST of greatest players ever.
    tals sacrifices 90% of the time were totally unsound and against CAPA tal would have been embarrassed.

    After the hypothetical ending you offered where black rook takes on c 4, white plays rook to g4, why not move the bishop to block the white rook on f4? If the pawn takes, black has time to take the white bishop. If the rook takes, you capture back with your pawn and you are up the exchange to boot. The white king is blocked at the fourth rank if the white pawn takes the black bishop thanks to the black rook occupying that rank. You can then capture another pawn and the king can block the passed pawn in enough time for the rook to be able to help defend, while also pushing what would at that point be THREE passed pawns. I am running on 3 hours of sleep though so if I missed something in this could someone please let me know? Don't have an engine to test it out in myself
