Playing D2 is like being in a relationship with an abusive narcissist. "We only give you good things..all the while sabotaging you the ENTIRE TIME and lying about it or feigning ignorance."
I understand you completely. I too have been with the game since the beta. Bought everything. But this last year I said enough was enough and quit after a struggle with myself. Describing it as a drug was accurate as it’s painful to let it go. But Bungie deserves it. We deserved respect.
Been playing since Destiny one and coming up on 1 year sober. The game was transformed into nothing more than a vehicle for microtransactions. Truly squandered potential. The seasonal model is just a clever ruse to showcase a refreshed eververse. You get what, some illustrated cut scenes, an activity that is just cut and paste using assets that have been in game, and of course, the updated cash shop. The whales are what matters now. Really sad to see.
Hello. I have never played Destiny before, but i still stumbled on your video. I rarely leave a comment, but the good camera, sound, editing, writing and most importantly the quality of your video has left me astonished seeing that it comes from such a small creator. I watched the whole thing because you made it interesting. Keep going dude this is great 👍
Thank you is all I'm gonna really say. I grew up with the halo era games and I loved Destiny 1/2, I quit before the Deep season I think it was. It was hard to quit and I'm still looking for a game to take its place, I've made some great friends but unfortunately lost them all due to them or myself mostly..
How I'd describe this game is "a saga of glitter, fluff, and disappointment". There's very little in the game at this point I really enjoy doing anymore. Private matches with friends and the occasional dungeon/raid. Everything I personally liked has either been removed or shoved aside. I loved the Tangled Shore and the strikes associated with it, my favorite activity was Gambit (and season of the Drifter was my favorite season). I loved the lore juggernauts like Osiris, Rasputin, Quria, hell even Nokris. But most of them are dead now, being unceremoniously killed off in side seasons. Or worse. This franchise had so much potential, and it's because of that I've given the game so many passes. But how many times can we be expected to say "it's fine, next expansion is when they're gonna fix the game". I've said it for years, and now I finally think that it's time to stop.
The one thing that made me quit beside money, was content vaulting. Like, why pay for a full price dlc when u know they gonna remove it at some point, forcing you to buy more to have a little bit of content. And i didn't know about that at that time. So when they remove red war, i was like "huh? That's weird". But then they f*cking did it. They removed Forsaken, the very dlc that saved the game, the only dlc that i replayed over and over again caus it was THAT good. At that very moment i realised it was over. i deleted D2 and didn't plan on coming back anytime soon... Then i started warframe, ENTIRELY free. That was a good change of pace for me. Met some new friends. Got into a clan. But i still have a hole in my heart. A hole that no prime will ever fill....
I still have not ordered The Final Shape. I am tired. No bounty prep, going to wait to see how it looks and player reactions. Also, most of my introductory to the game friends stopped playing as well. Nimbus through me over the edge character wise. I would love to see D2 really close out and a new game/new character progression/new systems take its place. If I were to guess, they will continue to steal ideas from other games like Diablo 4 and Warframe. Diablo 4 has been fun for me and the new gear system has me itching for release tomorrow. I miss the early days of Destiny. I do not think they can replicate those times anymore.
Played Destiny for many years, and I'm on week 3 of quitting Destiny. What made me quit was the constant nerfs. Bungie has this way of neutering fun in this franchise. If a weapon was awesome, it got nerfed. Awesome abilities and supers? Nerfed them too. The final straw for me was the recent nerf to Well of Radiance. It was the reason i played D2 in the first place, and i love...well, "loved" the Warlock class. I love playing support, in any game i play. But once they destroyed my Well to oblivion, best believe i was beyond pissed. So i quit right then and there and started playing other games, including Warframe, which is my go to game now and is leagues better. As much as I enjoyed playing Destiny, leaving the game for good felt like leaving an abusive relationship. And in all honesty, i couldn't be happier. So Destiny, thanks for the memories. It was a fun experience while it lasted, but it's time for this Warlock's journey to end.
After the Bungie layoffs and the manner in which they executed the layoffs, basically stealing stock by terminating employees a day before the stock became vested and firing them at the end of the month where they have no warning and losing their health insurance coverage abruptly......... That was the straw that broke the camels back for me. I have pre ordered every DLC since 2014. Played well over 15,000 hours D1 and D2 combined. Just tired of being promised that this time it'll be better and then they keep the same seasonal template, same guardian games, same halloween event, soltice event.... I have spent so much silver on cosmetics along with my friends that I play with doing the same. Bungie then abandoning Destiny 2 to make Marathon and using the money from Destiny 2 to fund Marathon development and not reinvesting back into Destiny 2. Remember Forsaken was the Activision merger and there were 2 other studios helping with that DLC with Bungie, and the PC port. Monetization hit all time ridiculous highs and Activision was used as the scapegoat but it was Bungie the entire time. I never forgot any of that. Bungie are a bunch of sell outs. This is what happens when you decide to hire people based on criteria that isn't merit based and picking the best person for the job. But because I chopped off a body part or I'm stating that I'm an exotic gender I get the job. Hate to say it but Bungo did it to themselves. They abandoned their employees and their players and ran the golden goose into monetization hell style oblivion.
@General Rubicon why I'm finally "quitting" well I'm not quitting Bungie has fulfilled its ten-year promise the story is done what comes next??who knows but let the new lights the new generation save the galaxy I am burnt out I have crossed the finish line but good video dude.
Ultimately the time suck to stay up with PvE and PvP skill ceiling just isn't worth it. Probably going to move on from video games entirely once I stop playing Destiny.
Why i got 6 different accounts on 4 different platforms got 2 destiny 1 accounts ps4 in 2014 and later Xbox X in 2023 got 2 console accounts for destiny 2 Ps5 and Xbox X and 2 pc accounts epic gms and steam but i havent given up and no one cares about my career cept why the phuck do i spend so much money and why do i waste my time destiny is life guardian and i luv my destiny
Any live service games that you guys like currently? I'm looking for new games to play and really get into.
Once human is in beta right now. Its pretty fun. Nightingale will be in early access at the beginning of February.
Live service games... 🤣🤣🤣 I wouldn't play a live service game to save ****** ******
Helldivers 2 is pretty fun.
@@clintonchico9547 I'll have to take your word for it, I wouldn't play it... but FF7 Rebirth is what I'm on now, next month is Stellar Blade
Final Fantasy XIV absolute banger

great video really cool hearing your story!
Quiting this close to the end is silly
Sunk cost fallacy
I only started playing D2 6 months ago and I feel like Jason Newstead. I stepped into a bunch of problems that may be resolved, but aren't yet.

Thank you!
i agree
if the final shape isn’t nearly as good as forsaken i’m quitting destiny
I would get while the gettin's good.
It was good but i’m done with the game
No, it was excessively mid AF.
Nimbus pushed me over the edge. I cannot handle that much cringe.
Very cringe
Not to mention Osiris and Saint 14 bromance
Thank you is all I'm gonna really say.

Ive been playing alot of helldivers 2 and sea of thieves
I'm currently playing Warframe and ESO. Give those a try at some point.

Vaulted content was one of my earliest complaints of the game. It felt like they were stealing expansions I had rightfully paid for.
The one thing that made me quit beside money, was content vaulting. Like, why pay for a full price dlc when u know they gonna remove it at some point, forcing you to buy more to have a little bit of content.

Same. They removed content that we paid for. They could have at least made it playable offline. That pissed me off so much.
I stopped playing after Witch Queen. Only recently came back for the final shape lol. I had to at least see the end.

Best to leave it in the past. We need to play better games and move on from this.

How is your cat chippy doing
I quit at Forsaken , I started at D1 beta 😢
It’s bad but new Raid is very good and a great conclusion reason for me to play despite how bad episodes are

Should I make more videos like this in the future? Or do you guys prefer commentary.
@tsbol2201 thank you. I enjoyed making this alot.
You're not done until you delete the game from steam lol.
This is so true
D2 is boring as all hell. Bg3 shits on d2.
Agreed
BG3 is a boring turn based pile of shit. Two completely different games 🤦🏻♂️
At this point, Helldivers 2 is a far better game than d2. D2 should never have been attempted. It's a half assed money grab.
