The walkway is a great way to get around machines to access inventory to take materiels.. It can also be used to place structures from above when expanding the base.. Much easier to judge the space between machines.. That added with the grid placement, working correctly will make base building easier..
The classic starter spaghetti build you get in every kind of factory/automation game. Then the "must make it clean" phase, where you end up with it being still a mess but at least it's cleaner lol.
THIS! And it gives you more room to add additional storage or other machines later in the same line. The trick with all this big stuff is to try to get it as compact as possible to take up the least amount of room
Honestly it would be much easier to use Mergers and Splitters instead of Wall Pieces to align things properly - they have the same height ,they align with the floor pieces and you can delete them after your belts are in the right Spot and continue from there.
You sir are going to Loooove the mountain vaporizer. That one you will, at least I did, is run tnt stick between tye vaporizer and detonayor. This way I had more safe space. Second and I believe you did this already but a splitter to two crushers and 2 splitters yo 4 smelters helps prevent belt lag. I run 4 storage units now because the cost fir the large is insane to unlock. You can also chose to put a single belt to 2 crushers then a splitter after yo send one to a smelter one to storage so you still get powder And ore.
Whats up Kage , hope all is good with you. this Orebound is some good stuff huh. pretty soon you will need to go up. 4 stories high would be a fun build.
Could you run the belts from the smelters to a merger and the run a belt to the side of the main base where there is nothing currently and put a storage area there, or build a room on the main base. This room or area would be the opposite side of the farm. This way you would have the storage close and all together., meaning run the copper over there as well. Once you go to the next tier of automation you will be auto crafting I believe and that could be set up it this same area too. Also could you put a splitter after the crushers for the copper and iron so one goes to a storage for powder and the other to another splitter for your smelting lines.
Not really sure why you put the merger closer to the storage than the things you were merging, having to run two belts all the way to the front, instead of one. But you could merge copper and iron into one belt each and send them around to the side closer to you base/home.
you're still doing it the hard way using those walls to direct your belts... put down a splitter, run a belt to it, pick up the splitter, .. put the splitter back down around the corner, run a belt to it, then pick the splitter up.. easy, clean, not fighting with it so much... also good for long runs when the belt doesn't want to cooperate..
I don't want to offend you or make you mad/sad But. "This are the worst looking and most unrealistic conver belts I have ever seen, and I have worked with convear belts before. No practical or realistic belt can have so steep 90° turns

Why not put the merger on the same line as the smelters? Then you only have to make one belt turn the corner.

The look of the game is great. The oversized machines have nice detail.

Do the next on mirrored, so put the storage next to the one that’s there and bring the belt up further away
Tip: Make a better weapons (the Mace has better stats than the starter sword)

Would have been better to put the merger way closer to the end of your smelters. So then you only had to do one long belt instead of two.
Any chance there are POI's on the map to explore?
I got the storages going through the wall, so I just pick up what I want from the inside of the fortress. But my map looks very different than your.
New Satisfactory DLC looks lit!
Alright I’m redoing my whole factory layout cuz mine is a mess.

why use explosive to make space for belts? the belts make their own space....... where is logic?
