Thanks so much for sharing your work, and telling what you used for tools. I ve got to do this job and I am dreading it. May take me all day. Thanks again.
I lucked out and stumbled across a pointer that will help. If you are struggling to get the mount back in around the components, you can disassemble it, get it in place and reassemble. Its only two nuts on the engine block side that can be removed and the mount comes apart. Great video and I never thought of taking out the wheel well. Mine was a 4WD and we did it all from underneath....not easy though! Should have taken the wheel well out 😀
Man I've been looking for a video like yours. Others either cut off the install or it's on a 2WD. Thank you for this. Once i get to feeling better I'll tackle this job. Until then, easy on the throttle.
Autoshop here in albq wants 2800 to replace both mounts. Ea mount costed 89.00 at oreilleys. Crazy to pay that much. Ripping off folks who dont know better. Thanks for the video.
Mr Robin's you obviously don't know the logistics mark ups and over haul for this particular job considering you'll pay a shop that is running electric air and lifts. Plus the techs and the tools they provide not including the years of knowledgr.
@@michaelvonluehrte6448Lmao all this can be done with hand tools and elbow grease stop sticking up for the man. Years of knowledge my ass they have kids with barely whiskers working on cars now days because they are so short handed.
@@michaelvonluehrte6448I am a mechanic, have been for 15 years and I must say $2800 is absolutely ridiculous. I can have that done in about 1 hour.... It should be no more then $1000 and that's a super high price point I might add.
Yessir. I made it to the end. Vast majority of the mechanics on TH-cam edit their videos to make themselves appear more professional, Aint none of em fooling me. I know the battle thats involved with certain repairs and mechanic work in general. I appreciate the fact you left the whole process in your video. Ive done this exact same motor mount swap on my Tahoe and I relate to every minute of the video. Even getting the wrong part but I blame my local O' FuknReilly's for that. Subscribed.
Thanks for subscribing, I probably edited out at least an hour, but the video would’ve been too long, but the struggle is real, thanks for watching. Hope you have a great day.
Very good video. I have to do mine on a 2013 5.3 4x4. I'd rather pay someone, but the dealer here wants 900 just for labor and said about 200 for the part. Seems high for a shop that has all of the equipment needed. Looks like about a 3 to 4 hr job. Do you mind saying how long it took you and how much?
This was a side job, it’s been a minute but I am guessing 3 1/2 hours. I either charged him 200 or $250. Can’t remember 100% 900 is crazy. Thanks for watching like and subscribe. Have a great day
I got mine off 4x4 Tahoe 5.3 steering shaft is stuck on the bottom end WILL not come been soaking in PB and banging and won’t budge got the mount out by taking the frame bolts out and raising it then the engine bolts and took heat shield off and removed I cannot get it back I. For the life of me now smh

Does the steering shaft have a slot in it where you could put a chisel to spread it apart a bit to get the shaft off
Do you think this could of been replaced without take off the steering shaft?
For sure, on a 2 Wheel Dr., you might be able to pull it out the inner fender area without removing the shaft mabey
Lousy you failed to show even one shot of the actual mount you’re changing
Hope you have a Merry Christmas
Watch it again where he has to get the correct part.
