    Baw you made that look a little to easy! But I got it done though, it’s nice to have someone who’s not in a shop with a lift and all the fancy stuff show you how to get it done in the real world, big help

    • @ThePrincesselise06
      @ThePrincesselise06 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Right this was the best way for me to view it being done because all I have is my tools, jack stands and my two hands! I changed my windshield wiper motor my stabilizer links 02 sensor on my own because of wonderful people like him.

      I also have a 07 chevy tahoe but I think I gave them the wrong engine size when I bought my engine mount but I haven't installed it yet I don't know if it's a 5.3 or 8 litter engine

    This is what I was looking for. A video with normal ramps , jack and just regular hand tools. I have all that! The others use lifts and power tools .

    • @KARSRUSKING

      I have lifts and all of that too but I try to keep it as diy as possible to help others looking to do it on their own

    Took a little longer than expected, but would've taken much longer, and been more stressful without this video. Only needed the swivel to break loose the 2 short bolts on the inside of the heat shield. Managed to loosen them the rest of the way with a short socket and normal size 3/8 ratchet, no extensions. The middle of the 3 bolts can be loosened more easily with multiple extensions from the top, no swivel. The two on the sides aren't that bad at all from underneath like you showed. Power tools are pretty much useless. (At least for the driver side, haven't done passenger yet.)
    Installed BFW motor mounts. Comparable to the AFP mounts. MUCH easier to slide back in, and easier to tighten the bolts also.

    My dude. Thanks so much for your video. I did this job today, and watching your video made me see the mistakes I was having. I am coming to your videos first from now on. All the other videos no one showed putting the motor mount back in. It just appeared in like magic. Mine didn't go in like magic, and I was pissed. But now I see where I was wrong. Thanks so much!

    Great video! Watched it, bought the part, and from the time I popped the hood till I lowered the Tahoe it took me 1-1/2 hours. That’s saying something considering I’m 6’2”_370lbs. Not that I can’t get around but definitely harder for me to get my big ass, hands, and arms into tight spots. Again thanks brother!!!!

    Thanks for the video. Took me a little longer than it should have. Ordered my motor mount off Amazon. Won't make that mistake again. Cheaper is not better. The top holes in the heat shield were off and I kind of struggled until I reached for my Big hammer and beat it into submission. Saved a few bucks doing it myself. Thanks again.

    Awesome video dude. Awesome! My 2012 Silverado has a bad driver side motor mount. At age 65, I'm getting a little tired of working on my own cars. Thought I'd talk to a mechanic that I've worked with before. I was quoted $161 for the AC Delco part, 3 hours labor for a total cost $646!!!!! For one motor mount? Thanks to your video, I'm gonna pretend I'm 25 again, Putting in the motor mount myself. Thanks again. Great vid!

    Good video man. I was skeptical about the jack on the catalytic converter. But held fine. I removed the heat shroud from my mount just because it made the angles a little more difficult. I did a decent amount from in the hood too.
    Haven't decided if I want to touch the passenger side yet... that one looks way worse.

    When you bent the oil pan the first time, did you have a block of wood between the pan and the floor jack? Curious cus all data says lift from oil pan and other says dont lift from oil pan. all 5.3l chevy tahoe and silverado different years tho.. the engine oil pan should be the same from all i believe. I think i replace both mounts at same time with a wooden block before.. idk man dont wanna be liable for a bent oil pan either... btw like how you didnt hide your mistake the first time jackking it from the pan. but was there a wooden block or not?

    Personally wouldn’t lift all that weight off the cat that’s a lot of stress to be putting on the exhaust manifold to crack, if you life off the corner of the pan where it dips under the subframe it’s very solid in the corners, but hey to each their own if it works for you. Did one earlier today was an 07 Denali with 4x4 and did both mounts and man was that a fucking headache lol

      @KARSRUSKING  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      2491kridge tried that way your talking about before the oil Pan got smushed in and had the truck knocking became a whole another job there for I used all data that recommend the way it two or three jacks up not much pressure at all for the 30 seconds it’s going to be up as you can see in the video no damages no struggles quick fast easy professional thanks for your opinions more videos to come like subscribe comment
