- in todays video we are ploughing in slurry with the mf 6290 the one we fixed up and the kverneland 4 furrow plough while father phil and bro spread sluury with the mf 6499 and mf 6290.

Very important to get the check chains slacked off and adjustable when your ploughing, i call them chains but they are push push type adjustable tube on the 62, mount them in the top hole under the axle, set your max height lift adjustment knob, lift the plough till it stops and take the slack out of the chains, this means when your at ploughing depth the two chains are slack and when you lift at the end rig the plough doesn't slap about, if you mount them in the lower hole under the axle they dont get longer or shorter when you lift the implement, thats for power harrowing or rotavating. She's ploughing rightly for rusty number 8's and crumbly type soil, no doubt it will get better when the shine comes on them, good to see bro adding his own unique style to the video.

A little bit of grease on the boards would have made ploughing a lot easier and a lot handy to harrow.
Maybe bro needs an auto-steer kit for his birthday, LOL! Just teasing, it just takes time and practice. My grandad could have given the GPS a run for it's money with his straight rows but, he also had 50 years of experience as well. Nice work everyone, thanks for sharing!

Post slurry plowing I would think you need to keep it as shallow as possible. You don't want to push your slurry/o matter too deep. Deep VT implement maybe better for this scenario?

Hey Phil.
I used to look forwards to ploughing when I worked for the ag contractor guy. On busy days when we were ploughing/drilling he would phone me all the time telling me to stop messing with the plough and get on with it, in the end I would call it D&D.....Drop and drag lol.

Here in the USA we do not see any of the turn over plows rotating plows because they slow the process down and seems like the more moving parts means more repair. Why are the rotating plows so popular there? Also it seems you have plenty power for a 4 bottom plow. Great video!!!
The rotating plough allows me to turn around and go back down the next run
