There are many ships I havent done yet, thousands in fact, please be patient... This is not my job, this is my hobby, and I will eventually get to ALL ships!
Deep beta cannon but I remember a story that the Fasauris was an asteroid mining/towing ship, hence its overpowered tractor. Read decades ago. Reference?
I would imagine that things like this would happen many times to the Federation. Ask a peoples to join and get met by either stony silence, or a 'we'll get back to you, on that.'
Great job on this. I could see why the First Federation wouldn't join Starfleet as a member world. They missed a great opportunity especially by the 24th Century. I could only imagine how they would have tipped the war in Starfleet's favor against The Dominion. That is a nice story arc about Lieutenant Kevin Bailey being rescued by Voyager.
Ah I wondered what this was about when encountering the system in Star Trek Online. In a philosophical approach, people raise the question of what still drives a federation that has achieved, experienced and seen perhaps everything there is to experience. Could you have achieved immortality with your knowledge and what would you have been doing all this time? At some point, a consciousness has experienced everything, even if the body is still mortal. I assume that they have found a way to let their minds grow with the progress of technology, instead of technology leaving the mind behind. There are some interesting thought experiments that "accompany" humans as the universe progresses. A universe that eventually dies, so that there is no more energy left that can be utilised for continued digital existence of thought itself - aka being alife. These people do not have significantly more developed consciousnesses than we do and therefore aware of the end try to delay it as much as possible until it eventually ends. So it is a rather sad story. However I imagine with a endless increase in processing power consciousness at some point becomes something different. This went way deeper than I planed. But still... the hell are they doing all day not leaving home at all?
Someone, check me on this. I think this is the first time anyone has done anything on the Fesarius. The real bonus, is the story on the First Federation. Also, don't give me that stardust stuff. No problem, I thinks it's always better to have a fact that is actually a fact ;) :P And thank you for editing your original comment to omit the golf balls :P
Still I like these stories mainly due to the fact that so far you have maintained a non political point of view as far as the franchise is concerned. Keep up the good work.
If this extended civilisation had mastered FTL long before we had mastered bipedal locomotion, then it is reasonable to imagine that they would have explored other galaxies, possibly many (as in thousands, maybe millions) by the time humanity had even started developing the very earliest FTL capability. This would also apply to rapid information transfer, so although we are told that their "debating process" is slow owing to the need to include all their people (on presumably an equal right to be heard platform), this is unlikely to be the case, since they could (and no doubt would) have the means to debate inclusively, yet amazingly quickly. The reality is that, as an almost certainly pan-Galactic association, the UFP would provide very little interest to them. They are so very far ahead of us that the gap is for all intents and purposes insuperable. A gap that is tens of orders of magnitude greater than that between the local gardening club, and the United Nations!
Well no, you are incorrect on all fronts! Just because you can do a thing (Travel FTL) doesnt mean you Have to do that thing! And they didnt! After the disappointing exploration of the Galaxy, the First Federation merely turned inward, shut their borders and worked on bettering themselves... And as the video already said, they indeed had a slow debating process being a direct democracy!
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios Well, I don't follow Star Trek at all, so the associated lore is meaningless. In a "real" reality, I certainly expect my suggestions to be correct, and such a civilisation to eventually be pan-Galactic. In effect a Kardashev Level 4 (or maybe even 5) civilisation. It might also eventuate that such a civilisation may no longer be corporeal in any sense, and may have more in common with the Cosmic AC in Asimov's "The Last Question".
Nah not really... Again, just because someone can do a thing, does not mean they should or will do that thing! Xenophobia is a thing too you know... The Krenim temporal war ship was wandering the delta quadrant at the same time as Kirk maybe before, they said they’d been going for over 200yrs so would that ship not be most advanced at the time?
@@TriAngulumAudioStudiosThey might’ve been around longer but they’ve plateaued technologically, a temporal warp ship is more advanced than a warp ship. It might be fast but so what, we see it throw around a Connie but throwing around a 200 yrs newer ship is more impressive and Voyager couldn’t stand up to the krenim ship which again was from Kirk’s era or before, they only defeated them cause the crew sabotaged the ship. Maybe the fesarius has temporal shields but we never see it.
Uh no, because you're making a huge assumption that the First Federation never developed that technology? What makes you think that? Just because people have a Nuclear Bomb, doesn't mean they use it! That's the HUGE flaw in your logic! The First Federation had long ago discovered the dangers of such technology and in an enlightened way, decided no longer to use it... Thus, they were STILL far more advanced than the Krenim!
When I saw it, I was thinking Balok was the last of his species, though that's never explicitly stated. Like the last guardian of the Tkon Empire in TNG.
They're more advanced than anybody still using matter spaceships. The Metrons and Organians would probably be on another level over the FF. And Sargon too.
I could see the Borg being an offshoot or a rebel group of the First Federation. Too impatient with the cultures more extream view of individuality, they decided to create a new culture just as extream but with only one mind.
The Fesarius has no weapons, it doesn't need them. It's computer core can easily overwhelm any ship it in counters and shut them down. So they can take control of a Klingon, Romulan with a push of a button.
What I would like you to do is make a video about the old new warp scale. I look up on TH-cam and they have nothing about it. Just something about making a goddamn quilt.
Uh I already have, many times, starting ALONG time ago, if you had actually bothered to check rather than complain! th-cam.com/video/h1Rf11xdCk0/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/FSoHvHlHTbU/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/PmFy66Wf6mo/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/alHZV5yeewE/w-d-xo.html all cover it... So next time, actually check before whining... It will ensure you don't look so foolish next time!
Maybe no one watches you, because of how you are? Just a thought... And as I already commented, I already HAVE made many videos on the topic and listed 4 of them, if you had actually bothered to look!
Personally, I thought the Fesarius as one ship. There were no more. The ship was overblown, sure, it had a strong tractor beam but... that was it. I think Balok and the Fesarius had the whole UFP tricked.
And yet in all of Bashir's projections, the intervention of any single alpha quadrent power could not turn back the tide of the dominion advance, which presumably inclueded the first federation 🤔
I just thought now their worlds have a relatively low population density. This might make them not being in a hurry and saw a lot of what happened to UFP.
By the time they decide to join the federation, most of all their important technologies would have been independently invented by the United Federation of Planets ! We would get a few interesting and unique techs, but likely most of the important stuff would be on the verge of being brokethrough or already discovered ! So basically, I don't think we would get much use from them if they joined. Seems like they would become nothing more than a protectorate. A place we are forced to defend without them helping us when we need it ? Unless by joining the Federation you automatically sign up to provide ships for the UFP ? I know there would at least be resource sharing by all members to get the ships built, but does the membership include using your own ships in defend of the UFP ? [Even my reaource 'take' is an assumption... time for some interesting reading ! ]
Not at all! The First Federation has existed for longer than any other Galactic Power and has never lost a single member... So how can you even begin to attempt to say it's a fallen empire? That doesn't make sense!
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios In the game of Stellaris there are these fallen empires, who in the past had massive territories, but due to various circumstances have shrunk to a couple of systems and are super isolationist, unless provoked.
Right, but this is not that type of situation at all... The First Federation still has the same amount of territory they always had, and have never lost a member... So again, I dont see how they could even begin to be a fallen empire!
Is it just me or would it be bad for him to send a dreadnought fur friendly negotiations. It would make a lot more sense to send the Enterprise or another Constitution class starship with a diplomatic team. That to me is a recipe for disaster using a Dreadnought in much the same way as on Babylon 5 with the first Contact between Earth Alliance and the Minbari, due to a misunderstanding because they had their gun ports open. In my opinion United Federation of planets sending a Dreadnought to meet with first Federation would carry the same message.
Yes it's just you for several reasons! First, the Federation was no threat to the First Federation, so it wouldn't matter WHAT vessel class they sent. Second, this was second contact, not first, like the B5 Situation, with the First Federation already well informed about Starfleet and the UFP! Third (and Lastly) Starfleet wasn't sending a Dreadnought to intimidate or fight the First Federation, but rather to show them a more advanced Vessel design they had, trying to close the gap (unsuccessfully) Tech-wise, between them. So in the end, your logic is flawed for those very specific reasons!
Am I the only one thinking its entirely possible the First Federation has not advanced anymore than the 23rd century and thus by the time ships like the Wells class are being made in the 27th century; the Fesarius would actually be considered outdated to say nothing of 32nd century vessels if it even survived to that time period.
Thats its measurements, and Trek has ALWAYS been bad matching ship measurements on screen, So I wouldn't try standing on that particular ant hill! See Klingon Bird of Prey and USS Defiant for other examples!
This was actually the first in a long series of missteps by Star Trek writers who still didn't know what they were working with. This was the first regular episode aired when the show was picked up and no one saw what the implications of such a technology would be for the show. It was a stupid-big ship. That's why it was memory-holed and never seen again.
Sorry, but you're incorrect on ALL fronts... First off, The Corbomite Maneuver was NOT the first regular episode aired after being picked up, that honor fell to The Mantrap, with Mudds Women, The Enemy Within, The Naked Time, Charlie X, What Are Little Girls Made Of and Dagger of the Mind and Miri ALL airing before this episode... So that's your first mistake. Second, The Corbomite Maneuver is a fan favorite episode, with the majority of fandom loving it... Making your "mistep" comment also just plain wrong! Lastly, it was never "memory-holed" as you said, but simply not something they decided to pick up on again as they didnt need too! The Original episode did it's job on its own and TV at the time didnt often revisit storylines that were all tied up nicely by the end of the episode... So all way round, your comments are jyst wrong, and all you have is a personal dislike for an episode that fandom as whole loves! Also in future, you might want to do better research before making statements of fact that arent actually true... (THREAD CLOSED- No further comments will appear to allow OP to reflect upon their mistakes)
You guys are giving the FF too much credit. One of their top commanders was thwarted by a bluff. They might be ancient, but they certainly aren’t that wise.
Balok never intended to destroy the Enterprise, the whole scenario was designed to allow the First Federation to determine if the information they had about Starfleet and the UFP was true or not, right down to faking the distress his little pilot vessel was in! So he wasn't thwarted by anything, but rather playing along!
You want to play with a real mystery ship? You need to look up at Star Trek the animated series episode beyond the farthest star it may be the only vessel that comes anywhere close to the thesaurus Mass,
Lol Ive been a Trek Fan for 50 years, have seen all the Episodes of all the series and all the movies more times than I csn count, so I dont need to look it up :) In future, you can just talk to me directly about the topic :)
Once again, I’m not a fan of the Voyager episode when they go war 10 I’m not I’ll talk about it but the people in this group like to attack me about it war 17 you just proved my point. Voyager sucks.
Once again, and Ill explain this to you for the last time, The Original Series Warp Scale is DIFFERENT to the one used in the TNG Era... After the failed Excelsior Transwarp Experiment, the federation had learned far more about Warp Travel that in the Early 24th Century they RE-WROTE the warp Scale, making every speed after Warp 1 a Different Velocity with warp 10 being Infinite warp. So You can dislike Voyager all you want but a) Your personal opinion is just that, a personal opinion that does not coincide with the majority and b) You've got nothing factually to back that opinion up! And finally, STOP with the nonsense, this is final warning... Explaining things to you when you're wrong is NOT an attack so playing the "victim" card just makes you look foolish! Also, if you're going to quote this channel in your comment, make sure you quote it correctly, as "all OLD Warp Scale of course" was clearly the line which explained the Warp 17 comment. If you attempt to bring this conversation up again (EVER) as it has now been explained to you repeatedly in various comments, than you will be banned and your comments erased. This channel is dedicated to a love of Trek, not a single fans obsession with trying to be right while play the victim! The End, got it? Lol, you dont say! Lol
Excellent my friend :)
Many thanks!! (as always!) :)
Reminds me of another iconic Star Trek ship. A large decentralized warp design with overly powered tractor beam tech and a difficultly of taking a beauty shot. A borg cube.
Yes! Would have given a Borg cube a good pasting.
what about the Intrepid-class starship? i just look and you have not done one it on.
Reference?
Now I want to see it fight against the Borg
The Borg are not match for the First Federation!
I was wondering when you'd do this one. I wonder if lt Bailey was taking loads of photographs during their exploration.
Lol I doubt it! Lol
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios Probably not, but with the character having the same name as the photographer, I had to say it.
LOL I understand! LOL
I would imagine that things like this would happen many times to the Federation.
Ask a peoples to join and get met by either stony silence, or a 'we'll get back to you, on that.'
Far less actually, than you would think!
Hi. Can you cover of what became of the xindi during the tmp era and beyond?
Maybe 1 day!
man imagine if they are as advances as they claime they are just imagine what they could do to the borg or tholians
But still... the hell are they doing all day not leaving home at all?
i thought it was called the "Tresaurious." Subtitles on the dvd's must have cleared that up, where mere audio from the tv could not.
love this video
Thank you so much Dom :)

I think this is the first time anyone has done anything on the Fesarius.
The real bonus, is the story on the First Federation.

I'm sorry but you would think that if Janeway and her crew had met up with the Fesarius that that would be a pretty good episode to put on tv.
Why? Just because you said so? Tge missed opportunities (due to expense issues or simply not thought of) is EXACTLY what Novels are for!

2KM in diameter and only room for 7000 people? Either the crew quarters each the size of a mansion or much of the ship was cargo space.
Or a combination of the above, along with ALL the other necessary amenities required for a population of 7000...

@@TriAngulumAudioStudios don't get me wrong. The Fesarius is an incredible ship and you did a magnificent job! Kirk just had a bad run of navigators in the beginning.
Fun fact the Fesarius model in the original effects was made out of ping pong balls
Actually, you are incorrect... "the model was a big ball endowed with "a pair of dimmers to make the model ship pulsate with power. The model was covered with sliced ping-pong balls."
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios you're right I meant ping pong I read it so long ago I forgot thanks for the correction 👍

Still I like these stories mainly due to the fact that so far you have maintained a non political point of view as far as the franchise is concerned. Keep up the good work.
Well politics is not what this channel is here for!
@TriAngulumAudioStudios and I thank You and God for that.
And leaving a comment on a Star Trek video, without understanding the lore or context is strange to say the least... Anyhow Im closing this thread off here as you're just running around in circles now! Take care!
(THREAD CLOSED- No further comments will appear to prevent a circular argument)
So did the Dominion War come anywhere near the border of the First Federation?
No, they were nowhere near and not involved in the Dominion War!
The Krenim temporal war ship was wandering the delta quadrant at the same time as Kirk maybe before, they said they’d been going for over 200yrs so would that ship not be most advanced at the time?
No? Why would it be? When the First Federation's ship were wandering the Galaxy Many Millennia before the Krenim even had space flight?
Was it bigger than the Death Star, how many of the class existed, and most importantly how many bowling alleys were onboard?
I do not know what this "Death Star" you mention is... And the First Federation never had bowling! That was a human invention!
Do the Gorn next!
The Gorn ARE coming, but not for a while yet!
When I saw it, I was thinking Balok was the last of his species, though that's never explicitly stated. Like the last guardian of the Tkon Empire in TNG.
You know what they say about assumptions! Especially when there is not even a hint of what you thought to be true in the episode or otherwise...
They're more advanced than anybody still using matter spaceships. The Metrons and Organians would probably be on another level over the FF. And Sargon too.
Sargon No, Metrons and Organians do not count, as they are energy beings now, no longer using technology! So apples to oranges...
I could see the Borg being an offshoot or a rebel group of the First Federation. Too impatient with the cultures more extream view of individuality, they decided to create a new culture just as extream but with only one mind.
Nah. Too short to make decent Drones...
😉
The Fesarius has no weapons, it doesn't need them. It's computer core can easily overwhelm any ship it in counters and shut them down. So they can take control of a Klingon, Romulan with a push of a button.
Sorry, you are incorrect, it DOES have weapons, but simply not ones we know of understand!
What I would like you to do is make a video about the old new warp scale. I look up on TH-cam and they have nothing about it. Just something about making a goddamn quilt.
Uh I already have, many times, starting ALONG time ago, if you had actually bothered to check rather than complain!

@ that’s great why don’t you make the video?
@ if you want if you want, I can make a video in about 10 seconds but no one watches my fucking TH-cam channel
Maybe no one watches you, because of how you are? Just a thought... And as I already commented, I already HAVE made many videos on the topic and listed 4 of them, if you had actually bothered to look!
And this thread is CLOSED! To allow you time to process your further mistakes...
Personally, I thought the Fesarius as one ship. There were no more. The ship was overblown, sure, it had a strong tractor beam but... that was it. I think Balok and the Fesarius had the whole UFP tricked.
No, where did you get that idea? Do the Borg have 1 cube? Do the Voth have 1 city ship? Etc etc
And yet in all of Bashir's projections, the intervention of any single alpha quadrent power could not turn back the tide of the dominion advance, which presumably inclueded the first federation 🤔
No, the First Federation did not involve themselves in the Dominion War!
I just thought now their worlds have a relatively low population density. This might make them not being in a hurry and saw a lot of what happened to UFP.
Where did you get the idea their worlds have a low population density? They dont...
I really have to wonder how the First Federation would do against the Borg...
The Borg are no match for them!
Don't they remind you of the ancient trees trying to make a decision in Lord Of The Rings?🤔
Im not familiar with the Lord of the Rings tbh...
you should do the uss gotham class !!!!
The Gotham Class is a fan design, and generally speaking, I dont do other people's fan designs for various obvious, reasons !!!!
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios ohhh ok ty sir
The Fesarius was a mining ship in cannon iirc
No it wasnt! And not sure where you got that idea!
A Fallen Empire if I've ever seen one
Pretty much yes, as canon is CLEAR that they are FAR more advanced than the Federation! The episode clearly demonstrates this...
The Fesarius had a diameter of 2 km? Not bloody likely. The scale demonstrated in the episode would seem to indicate a diameter of more like 100 km.
Thats its measurements, and Trek has ALWAYS been bad matching ship measurements on screen, So I wouldn't try standing on that particular ant hill! See Klingon Bird of Prey and USS Defiant for other examples!
It is possible that the metrons have power and technology comparable to first federation
That's an interesting question I will be exploring in the future ;)
"More Advanced Than Anyone in the Galaxy" You mean besides the Q.. clearly.
No, I mean of those that are still corporeal lifeforms! Clearly.
Hey guys. We should build a STARship. But sir we already have...NO I want a STAR...ship
Maybe the Borg got them.
No, they didn't
You guys are giving the FF too much credit. One of their top commanders was thwarted by a bluff. They might be ancient, but they certainly aren’t that wise.
Balok never intended to destroy the Enterprise, the whole scenario was designed to allow the First Federation to determine if the information they had about Starfleet and the UFP was true or not, right down to faking the distress his little pilot vessel was in! So he wasn't thwarted by anything, but rather playing along!
Your story couldn't help to make me think of the Ents.
I'm sorry you're stuck with Windows.

@@TriAngulumAudioStudios I was joking. My son uses Windows for the same reason. I don't need very specific programs so I get by with Linux.
It's a necessary evil I guess LOL
