Today is a chill day, let's just grab a pen and paper and see where it takes us. No pressure. We can draw anything or nothing, and if it doesn't turn out great, that's ok. The goal is to just make something that wasn't there before. That's a good feeling. And to feel the tip of the pen go across the surface of the paper and see the lines appear there, I like that too. Very satisfying.
I call this style "endless" because you can see how I struggled to stop at the end, and you really can go on forever. Some people don't prefer it since it's not very representational, but that's one of the things about it that appeals to me.
I apologize if the camera was a little shaky today, I'll try to make it more steady in the future.

Holy shit a reading every word off a shampoo bottle is the most Peter thing ever I absolutely love it. Please do one where you read every ingredient in a shampoo and tell us with complete confidence a made up reason it's in there.
I used to draw a lot in the past, my whole school and university years. But then I became a 'non-drawer' for very long time and just recently returned to it. Your vids and motivation played a big part in it, so thank you a lot Peter. :)
Now I got couple of sketchbooks, couple of trusty fountain pens and do draw every other day and have a lot of fun.
The hardest part was to learn that it does not matter if the drawing does not end up being something special, it can be just... normal drawing. And it can be even bad and there's nothing wrong with that as long as you enjoy the process. That was like a giant burden.
Letting go is a good practice, I enjoyed it very much, totally recommend doing so with your control focus. :)
Close to similar here, I picked drawing back up a few years back but only recently realized that sometimes just making lines on paper is all you need, it does not need to be lifelike, recognizable or anything. Peters channel was a big help in realizing this and now when he does a video like this, I just draw along and make my own doodles with a fountain pen that today indeed happens to have carbon black in it!

Same and now i have a ton of them even though I mostly write in a rocketbook reusable notebook and can only use special pens in it

If people say all your art is the same, take it as a compliment that you have developed a STYLE all your own and to have your art be RECOGNIZABLE amongst all other art is the ultimate goal for most professional artists. So just say "thank you Peter" & move on :)

Love these videos! I bought a Lamy Safari just to draw along with these videos to help me do more traditional art. Of course i dont recreate what Peter draws (name drop!) but just kind of do my own thing but when he started asking if i had certain lines i had a mild panic attack lol

Officially bought my first fountain pen today thanks to you. I've never beem much of an artsy person but the last couple of weeks I've been pushing myself to be more creative. The last week I've been doing at least one sketch a day, and since finding your videos I've been "doodling" as well. It's really helped put me in a better mood lately and kept me off of social media. I've been drawing a lot of character art, especially of my D&D sessions. I love seeing the stuff my players come up with (I DM), and bringing them to life with art is so fun!
If art is your passion and your refuge, I say do it your way. It is my refuge too. And if something is amazing to you, that's the only reason you need to do it.

25:15 the comment about throwing things away is so good because like if you've held the trash for a while and I think about this often 😂once it's gone like my hand is noticeably empty and I kinda worry whether I just mindlessly threw away something important, but it was in fact just trash.

Some control over life is so nice.
I enjoy going with the flow on many things, but there are certain things I really enjoy perfecting down to the smallest details. Even though these things really aren't a big deal in the grand scheme, I think having those things is a big deal on the personal level.
Without those little things to control, the illusion of what our life means starts to fade and things become wishy-washy. This isn't always a bad thing IMO, but I don't think it's healthy to always be in a wishy-washy state
