Gas Filled Strut : 1J0823359D, about 2500 at Volkswagen.
Net Cost :- Rs. 3000 or so.

Made a really quick video mixing some clips from my gas-charged oil filled hybrid shock absorber (strut) fitting performed on a Polo 6R. A quick note, this is not a Chinese Strut Kit. This kit I've installed uses a OEM grade Hood Strut. Many cars like Tiguan, Jetta come with just one hydraulic strut from the factory. It is a myth that we always need to have a pair of hood struts. As per the Polo Owner's Manual, the right way to close the bonnet is to drop it from a small height. I have answered few more questions about this on my TeamBHP thread. Yes. Video on that is in the works. You can buy it from Retrofit folks in India, or import them. Stay tuned, lot of those updates coming soon, including GTI lights :)

Congrats on your car sir! If you get this same spec strut, then one is enough, since it's perfect for both lifting and smoothly closing as you can see in the video. I have been using this for over 1.5 years now. Works like a charm.

Yes. I replaced them Philips LEDs. Expect a video and a TeamBHP thread soon
@@SujoyShivde If you're already onto it, then please also compare HIDs with LEDs from the perspective of halogen reflector set-up. In a lot of forums, people are more bent towards HIDs for this.

Make a video on halogen to led conversion on ur polo. I changed to led but it’s not fit on the hub properly .
Yes, it's a long pending video that I have wanted to do, and post on TeamBHP. You need to use a good headlight adapter and collimate the beam. Only then, will an LED fare well in a halogen reflector.

Is it generic DIY or specific to Polo? I would be keen to do this on my Brio and Figo. Also, is there consideration to be given where the weight of the hood matters? Can you indicate the cost involved and sourcing of components?
It is a Polo Vento specific DIY which uses a VW part number strut rated at nearly 350Nm which was identified taking into account the weight of the Bonnet of this PQ25 platform car. The costs are about 3000 rupees for a kit, and the OE Strut itself costs 2600 rupees or so. If you find a Chinese strut, the kit is priced half of what this kit costs. Sure, it can be done on Brio and Figo, but we need to identify suitable points for mounting the strut. We will also need to find a strut which isn't too strong or too weak to support the weight of your hood.

Not recommended to fit two such OEM struts. It'll be too much and will disturb the bonnet alignment. If you do this near OE implementation, you really don't need two. It's perfect :) soft close and soft opening.

@@Kr1stersx there are quite a few kits. Some Chinese kits I've seen come with a different strut load rating often come with a pair of struts.

I can see the gas strut as stabilus and when checked the part no it says 3445F0
You can use any OEM equivalent strut pertaining to 1J0823359D. Stabilus, Kilen, Lesjofors, Meyle, all pertaining to the OEM number I've mentioned will be appropriate. Stabilus has been a reputed OEM strut manufacturer, and so it's no secret I opted for Stabilus, but it might not necessarily be available everywhere. The OEM part can be ordered by your dealership, and usually works out cheaper.

They are offering various aftermarket stereos, but none of them are interested in procuring the OEM Stereo.

Yes, the bracket needs some modification to accommodate the bonnet bolt.

No sir. The ball stud and bracket have to be purchased separately.
What the length
Unfortunately, I didn't measure the strut since it's an OEM strut. Please lookup the length and specs using the part number in the description and threads.
Can the same part number struts be suitable for taigun ??
No, please don't directly use these struts on a Taigun. If the force is different, your bonnet might lose alignment.

I have used scorpio's one which costs way less that the VW'S and works the same.
