I experience that regularly with car drivers after ignoring signs, bike lanes, stop lights, and causing a dangerous situation for me on my bike. Even if I calmly tell them not to drive on the bike lane (for example), I get yelled at. I did nothing wrong and get yelled at or rude gestures. Human society is so f*cked up.

I would find a virtually impossible that you're not at least getting some content you would like assuming you actually avoid that content and choose to not engage with it. Cuz it really isn't that hard. But as far as avoiding it completely, I do agree that is virtually impossible. Because if it's even slightly related to anything you've been interested in on the platform, the algorithm is going to try to recommend it to you regardless. Is that the end of the day, they don't care if they engagements positive or negative. The algorithm in higher-ups of the platform just want you to stay on the platform. The longer you're on it, the more the number screw up, the happier their investors are. The algorithms here please them, not you.

I'm probably totally outside any "target audience" you might have (not a gamer, over 50, still uses Facebook but never used TikTok). Still, I highly enjoy your content and your opinion on things.
What you said is also true for Facebook (which is only used by old people nowadays, it seems). The more racist, unempathetic, agitating, minority bashing or spiteful a comment is, the more reactions it gets. I feel a lot of people like myself are so worn out and depressed by that, they don't comment anymore or stopped using Facebook altogether. Which leaves a priority of comments being hateful or anti-something (migrants, LGTBIQ, genderneutral language, the green fraction of our German government).
It's a bit off-topic, since you spoke about hate in general and not in a political sense, but a lot of this hate and bashing has a political background. Especially on X and Facebook, it's obvious to overemphasise right-leaning to far-right views. And we all saw what it did to the election in the USA. And I fear what it will do to the election in Germany. That's the even worse part about this "trend". Sorry for this depressing off-topic, but it's very important to know.

I personally believe we as people have grown weak, we get mad so easily at almost anything online and I feel like a lot of us have become reactionaries as a result of it all. Many of my friends used to send me videos dedicated to being mad at a specific topic, like how The Penguin is now a woman in the new Batman animated series (seriously, that’s a stupid thing to bitch about and I found it so satisfying when Serum Lake, a person who actually knows a lot about Batman called these people out on their bs). This type of behavior is making us far less receptive to other arguments. We’ve gone from attempting to understand each other to wishing to outright subjugate the other party for even daring to have a different worldview to ours. This cycle of co-dependence on ragebait to feel something should’ve stopped a long time ago. We’ve destroyed media literacy, we’ve destroyed any semblance of understanding we could’ve once had.. all because we wanted to be angry at something, it’s a blatant addiction a lot of us must drop at all costs.

I actually do remember his and don’t feel ashamed watching him. TurkeyTom on the other hand is bland and forgettable. I definitely don't agree that the internet was less angry before, imo it was simply more self contained. I think there was a lot more separate communities before social media kinda became the place we ALL engaged on. As well with basically the entire population hopping online, we went from isolated pockets to the flood gates being opened and it spreading to irl. Maybe it was easier to moderate or walk away from the angry-ness of the old web lol. Now its fucking impossible with everyone being online.
I agree with like everything else tho, and I find it really frustrating. I haven't really engaged at all in fandom or on social media in general once I became an adult for this reason. It's so loud and prevalent lol. I find I enjoy people who engage with topics with empathy and compassion, rather than just 'wow look how bad'. But we are seeing a shift with some commentary channels like realizing they're making things worse, which is progress. Emotional intelligence is sorely lacking in most people, we'd all benefit from reflection and responding to thing instead of reacting. ...and therapy lol

And if you're not on somebody's side whatever that may be, or you don't completely agree with their opinions on 100%, then somehow you're the enemy. I remember a time where it was 'cool' online to be hating on Justin Bieber, and I remember wondering why people were putting so much effort into putting his name and face everywhere. I wouldn't even have known of his existence if it wasn't for all the people eagerly jumping onto the Bieber-hate-bandwagon. If they hated him so much, why didn't they just forget about his existence and let him fade into obscurity?

It's where the content isn't necessarily intended to make you angry, but still thrives off of the viewer having negative emotions related to the topic of the video, rarely out of any sort of passion. Often it's due to the video covering ragebait in some form now that I think about it. Not to throw anyone under the bus, but you'll see it a lot from like all the big-name commentary channels that aren't a part of the daily upload crowd. I dunno, I'd hate it if for my job I had to find some new thing on TikTok that made me unhappy every two weeks or so

i agree, but this video does the same. instead of making the viewer angry at the person themselves, the youtuber creates anger for something else. you can't fight negativity with more negativity, but instead positivity, such as usually smaller channels of whom usually tend to just try to enjoy themselves and be happy doing something for 10-15 mins, allowing more positivity to be spread to the viewers.

Yeah for a while now, learning to ignore something is a skill that has to be done. Making sure what you see is actually what you want to see, even just straight up getting out of constantly using algorithms. follow who you like and stick to the subscriptions or following page, it might be a bit of work to follow enough people to keep it busy, but its so much better in the long run.
just beware that a lot of slop is bait or even fake. It all ends in the age-old internet saying of "Don't feed the trolls"

PyroLIVE has been bad since its inception, but I agree it went DOGSHIT in the last several months. Like, I was in this opinion before the whole anti-slop discourse begun. As a Pyro fan since 2015 it's effing sad. Back then simple topics were stretched to 8 mins, at least. Now it's a 20+ minute rambling, and I put the likes of Mutahar in this camp as well. It's a waste of EVERYONE's time except for the uploader. I legit subscribed to a channel who does 20 second AI summaries for all those videos out of spite.

I think when it comes to the success of negative content that literally breeds negativity, a lot of that is to blame on the viewers themselves. Primarily speaking of the general viewer, this doesn't apply to everybody so if it doesn't apply let it fly.
And if somebody thinks well then it should apply to you too buddy, okay then. I'm fine with that. I have no problem admitting it. Which is why I have no problem calling it the fuck out.
I try to avoid negative content more often than not. However, I'm not going to lie. If I'm interested in somebody's opinion and it just happens to be negative, I'm going to watch. Even if there's a chance I might disagree or it might make me upset. Because unfortunately that's just how interest works. You might be fascinated by it for some reason, it doesn't mean it's going to be positive.
And this goes for everybody on the internet. Are you purposefully seeking out negativity just to get yourself upset? Chances are you're not. Chances are you had no idea what you were getting into when you went into a video.but even when you got into it, even if you disagree with it, even if you started to get annoyed by it, you were interested in it for one reason or another if you chose to view it, watch it all the way to the end, or engage with it in any way, form, or fashion.
And FYI for anybody else reading this, when I say interest that doesn't mean you like it. It just means for some reason or another, you're intrigued by what that person has to say and you decided to give it your attention even if it's negative.
And nobody should be telling you bye now, cuz it should be common sense, that engagement is engagement and it doesn't matter if it's positive or negative. That will feed the algorithm. It will boost that video.
If you're the type of person that's tired of this negative content being fed to you, then literally do not engage with it and as the Creator said, press you're not interested. Does it work 100% of the time? No. But eventually the algorithm will get the hint. The best way to make sure it gets a hint is by watching something else that has nothing to do with the very thing that was negative or upset you. Literally watch anything else you like.
People say this on a regular basis, but then some of you numbnuts out there were continuing to engage with this content, cry that it comes in your feet, and blame the algorithmas if it's the algorithms fault you chose to click on that video.
Maybe you want to argue that the algorithms trying to antagonize you just so you engaged. I mean by that logic it's doing that with every video it ever shows you even if it's something you like. That's its entire fucking job. To show a video that might intrigue you, that might get you to engage with it, and it doesn't care if it's positive or negative cuz it doesn't know the difference. It just know that you kept fucking talking on that one video after you liked or disliked it for however long you were there. And the longer you're on the platform, the better it is for the platform and its investors. The algorithm is not here to please you, it's here to please the investors.
So remember that the next time you go blaming the algorithm, or your favorite Creator that's making more money in gaining more views with a negative content when you don't support the positive shit.
, that could be said about anything they make that you're not interested in. The new series, I wish they would at least go back to finish something they started, why the specifics equal to a video you've been waiting for for the longest? Let me ask you this how well did that video do in the algorithm? Not at all so then why the fuck would they go back to make the content that makes left using money just to fucking please you?
And that's if you even click on it. Cuz that's the funny part, when these content creators do go out of the way to make more positive content, you all don't support that shit. Or if they do go back to the old fashioned style contents, that series I never finished, the old series you wanted them to continue, you don't support it, the video flops in the algorithm, then you act fucking surprised they never go back to it again.
As of a while ago, I stopped watching a TH-cam by the name of blame truth of Call of Duty commentator. Because all he does is wine, bitch, and moan about sbmm over and over and over and over and over again. I've just gotten sick of it. I don't care if it does exist or not or if it's an actual problem. Like I wish you would just move on to talk about anything else. I'm actually subscribed to 402 thunder.
they just keep milking it and milking it, and it's never anything positive it's always negative. They don't talk about any other game, they don't talk about anything else, it's just SBMM for the 500th fucking time.
But at the same time, I can't blame them. Because they've admitted on multiple locations if people actually supported that shit, supported their videos when they went to a different game, supported their videos when they talked about positive things, supported the videos when they did anything about anything else, they would have just been doing that the whole fucking time.
So you want more positivity, you want your favorite creators to go back to that old series or finish what they started? Well two goddamn bad oh so sad. Maybe you'll get back what you want if you actually put it out there in the world. One more positivity instead of negativity? Then put more out there in the world. Support more positive stuff out there in the world. Instead of bitching about it that you don't get it in your feet when chances are it's right in front of your fucking eyes.
But because the family was not trying to rage bait you, you don't care. And before you go arguing, well what if I'm not interested in the video that's fine. I already made it very clear this is why negativity continues to thrive. If you genuinely don't mind listening to somebody's opinion even if it's negative, that's fine. I do too. But I don't bitch about it when I choose to consume it! Then continue to do so!
So if you don't like this video, maybe you'll like the next or the next. That's fine. But if you don't ever support any of the positive videos or the very thing you supposedly been asking for, that you claim you wanted this whole time, then shut the fuk up! Literally put your goddamn clicks where your mouth is or just shut the fuk up and quit complaining. Because if you're not going to put in the bare minimum of effort to help yourself in the current predicament that you're in, then don't expect shit to change by doing the exact same fucking thing over and over and over again.
You seen people will get this through their heads by now, but for some reason for the average general viewer this is mission fucking impossible.
The same way a Creator can't blame the algorithm for why they're video flopped and should make a better thumbnail, maybe you should watch better content instead of consuming garbage then complaining the algorithm for your own choices. All actions have consequences whether positive or negative. Action and reaction genius.
And one last reminder that I'm speaking of the TH-cam general audience and not the content creator or his general audience in of itself. But the entire TH-cam general audience as of a whole. And one last time, if it doesn't apply then let it fly. You have no reason to be complaining about something that doesn't apply to you. If you get mad, then you're calling yourself out.
And if it wasn't obvious already, besides giving my general opinion on the matter I'm speaking to the general audience out there. Remember those who even choose to read and get this far..
