    I just got into making salve, my first was made with comfrey and mullein leaves after soaking in olive oil for 3 mths. I strained it first with just a mesh strainer first, then put it though a coffee filter 3 times, it took a good 48 hrs but I had very clean light green oil!
    My salve turned out so good. I tested it by passing it around, my friends daughter has very dry skin patches, and it has completely disappeared, as has mine.
    I have given up my hand lotion and chap stick all together it works so good!

    Thank you for this easy recipe. I've been searching TH-cam today for a quick and easy lavender salve recipe, and your video is the closest match.

    I've made a few batches of this salve. I would like to incorporate the tea tree oil into the mix. I use lavendar and lemon essential oils in mine. This looks very similar to mine and I am having great results. Have you had good results with this with athlete's foot fungus? My husband has it from working in the heat and has a crack in the insides of his toes. We've been trying it but wondering if you knew of anyone this helped with or if you have had personal experience. I use this for rashes, dry skin, cracked lips from candida, lip balm, cuts. I am having such good experiences with it. I use it under my eyes before makeup and at night. The lemon helps brighten the skin and the lavender is soothing. Love the video! My mom said this helps with mosquito bites. She said it stopped itching.

    You said calendula correctly the first time. Many years ago I used to say it the same way you said it the second time. I was corrected when I went into our local health food store and asked for some. I've been growing my own calendula for over a decade now to make my infused oils. I had to watch your video. I weight all of my ingredients in grams and OZ when I formulte products.

    I make a drawing salve with apricot kernel oil, comfrey, vitamin E oil, beeswax & coconut oil. My son has been bitten by a brown recluse three times & we applied it to the bite area & it was gone in a couple days. We globbed it on & put a piece of gauze over it each time. I also had Actinic keratoses that has gone away by applying it every day. I also make a warming salve with cayenne pepper, turmeric powder, & ginger powder infused with olive oil (or apricot kernel oil) with the beeswax. It's good for relieving pain & reducing inflammation for arthritis, tendinitis & painful joints. My in-laws love it. One more thing that is amazing too, is burdock leaf salve for acne. That is just dried burdock leaves (cut) infused with apricot kernel oil, vitamin E, beeswax & coconut oil. Or what ever else is good for your skin.

    All good ta 👍You really just put in what suits your own skin anyway 😉👍
    Lanolin is a no go for me 😕 i get ezcema and have skin damage from certain things so I put in Manuka honey , Wheatgerm oil , Argan , Rosehip and Rose essential oil at the end . Wheatgerm oil is a natural Vit E oil so that’s better than the capsules ect as they’re usually synthetic. I also use a glass jar

    another thing you should try is while you use all the ingredients you should also add honey and i mean organic honey straight from the beehive or farmers markets because is good for the skin and its the best natural antibiotic creme you can put it right on an infection on the skin

      I swear by honey and use it all the time...I better because I have 25 hives. LOL I use the wax straight from our hives and I try using honey in my salves and lip balms but honey will separate to the bottom of the container. The only way the honey seems to work is if you are making a cream that you wisk together.

    I used to LOVE those dollar store containers you mentioned at 3:50. However, they do have a weird plastic coating on the inside that will leak into your beauty products. I used them for makeup at one point in time and learned the hard way. Just wanted to pass along that information for anyone who may seek out those containers for beauty or cosmetic storage - I would advise against.

    Can calendula salve be put on a small open wound. Like a bug bite that popped? I'm super confused at mixed information all over about calendula is not for open wounds or it is for open wounds. I just put on daughters open wound from bugbite. Now I'm nervous I did wrong. If not what is for open wound

    Nice video. But I have a question: Can I leave out the lavender, the calandula and make just the base salve to which I can add a different combination of essential oils to make Four Thieves Topical Salve? It is amazing to treat venomous and non-venomous spider bites, insects and a multitude of other uses. Thanks in advance.

    Are the dollar tree containers food grade plastic? Pouring hot oil into the plastic will cause chemicals to leach out into your salve. Plastic is made from oil.

      Plastic is a generic term. Polyethylene and polypropylene are made from natural gas. Polystyrene is made from petroleum. Nylon, polyester, polycarbonate, to which do you refer?

    • @donnak3724
      @donnak3724 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rene Quevedo I have eczema on my chest. I’ve tried everything, including cortisone creams which I really didn’t want to use but was desperate. The cortisone worked the best but it would then turn my skin red. Bumps or redness? Tough pick. Lol. I talked to my dermatologist and she recommended Vaseline. I was really skeptical at first but tried it and it worked!!! I put it on my chest in the shower or straight out of the bath when my skin is still wet, then just pat it dry. I’m so happy to have found something that works and is inexpensive. I notice that when I don’t use it, I break out again so I’m pretty loyal to it. It took me years to discover something that worked for me so I just thought I would share.

    just a tip.
    I'm so sick of seeing ppl use this and not disclose this important fact
    If your using lavender not to use the type of lavender called Lavendula Augustifolia is toxic to pregnant and breastfeeding mums, children under 6yrs and the elderly as their bodies cant circulate the strong oil out of there bodies. I'm a Qualified Aromatherapist - you can look online or in your local Library in a book called The Foundations of Aromatherapy.
    also ppl on Antidepressants can use Grapefruit oil or juice as it counteracts with the serotonin levels in the brain.

    • @Ann-my1dg
      @Ann-my1dg 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just saying. You are circulating UNCONFIRMED hearsay about Lavendula Angustifolia. It is NOT a fact at all. Nothing has been proven beyond all doubt, and until it has you should stop posting this rubbish. You're also a supposed qualified aromatherapist yet you can't even get the name right! Forgive me if I go on the basis of...if Lavendula Angustifolia is good enough for Neals Yard to use in its mother and baby products then it's good enough for me. I think they're a tad more qualified than you, and most certainly wouldn't be selling it if it was considered 'toxic'!
