The hero seems to be the IS Pakhet. And the missile doors are just fine. Put 8 SRM4 on it and you won't run into ghost heat because of the missile door firing delay of 0.5 seconds. tha
that frenzy... if you go full derp you can get 8 RL20s, XL 360 engine with JJs... 160 damage alpha you can kill an assault or 2 mediums through the frontal ct with that O.o god forbid if you get them from behind. also i imagine for quicks they won't be as good as the trebuchet-7M as the Dervish is 5 tons heavier. i hope however better then the wolverine, Centurion, and shadowhawk for missile quirks seeing as it is mostly a missile focus mech chassis.
I knew PGI would eventually run into the derivative problem, and it's rapidly approaching if not already here. They need to eventually reboot MWO and make hardpoints that hold up to a certain size missile, ballistic, or energy to give longevity to mechs and to make mechs that can hold certain weapons more viable... Or they'll have to make another game that gives more combined arms approach in the Battletech universe.
I'm pretty sure PGI wasn't going for "New and Unique" with this 'mech, but rather "something that we can use in MW5". I've heard Critical Rocket, among others on the Forums, wishing for the original TRO 2750 'mechs, so that we could get the game closer to a simulation of the universe as described in the part of the timeline where we're playing. This fits into that timeline, although as you've mentioned: it does all the same things that existing 'mechs already do. Also, I looked up the stock variants right after this was released, and only the 6M ever existed in Lore, so all the rest were made up by PGI for this 'mech pack.
Based on this, I'm guessing we'll probably see more IS than Clan 'mechs this year, and we'll see a lot of TRO 2750 'mechs that haven't been added, yet.
Where'd you look it up? Because Sarna's claiming the 6M, 7D, 8D and 6Mr are all canonical (although the 6Mr is from a bit later in the timeline than most mech variants in the game), leaving only the 7P and hero as PGI originals.
@@efffvss I tried looking it up in my TRO's (I've recently acquired 3039, 3050, 3055, 3058, 3060, 3067, and 3085), and it was only in 3039 with the note "there are no known variants [other than the 6M]". I have since checked SARNA and seen that (and then forgot that I said anything anywhere, to go back and retract my statement :) ), but I haven't had time, yet, to track down Sarna's references. Sarna does make me feel better about the naming scheme in use, though. Generally, "P" variants are made up by PGI, and other letter variants are canonical. (Exceptions being the HBK-4P, HBK-4SP and HGN-733P, all of which are canonical), so I was a little annoyed that PGI "made up" D-variants (Davion).
What if the ultimate pack came with 91 skill points so you can master one variant for free? Are you considering that it has missile doors which give 10% dmg reduction? I'm betting that the Dervish will be more durable than the Griffin and that means it's even more XL safe. I disagree about the 6Mr. The arms should be pretty decent, just look at where the joint on the arm is. (Haha you mentioned it later) Besides, with 6 it's a great candidate for mpls. Aside from the Sparky or Wolverine 6K, what other 55 ton mediums have enough to really do energy boating? Sparky is a hero and the 6K only has 5E & 4 of it's HPs are in the RA. Also a different version of what you seem to like is easy, 6 mls with 2 srm6. But for a mpl boat it gets the 10% dmg reduction on it's torsos so it could turn out to be pretty tanky.
Missile bay doors give a 20% damage reduction now. The dervish could be impressively tanky when the doors are closed until brawling distance and the survival tree is maxed out. The Dervish should be a pretty nice Inner Sphere faction play scouting mech.
Jesus yes. Please. Getting at least one of your mechs skilled right off the bat is just one of the many things they could do for Us Who buy mech packs regularly. I usually always go for the standard $20 pack. Then if nothing is coming out for awhile I might buy a hero or Something like that. I don't mind spending money on MWO. But we should get a little more for it. Maybe a color every now and then. Skill points. a pattern. I understand the early adopter and pre order packs get that stuff. But not everyone wants to buy a mech 4 months in advance.
I do love these videos, but I think you're stuck in the SRM meta mindset, didn't really look too much into MRMs and LRMs. True they are probably more useful, but as you showed in the hero variant you can do derp builds or builds that aren't pure meta. For the one that has 6 lasers I could see it being run with 2 larger LRMs (or MRMs) and 6 lasers. The hero variant would be fun, to me at least, with 4 SRM4s (or 6s, I don't have tonnage off the top of my head) in the arms, and 4 LRM5s in the torso on chain fire, may not be super good but sounds like fun. Also also, probably shooting myself in the foot with this one, I'd probably never take jump jets, rather use the tonnage for either bigger engine, more ammo, or perhaps bigger guns. This could just be me being an assault/heavy pilot, where all jump jets in the world really only get you over a small pebble (just barely), but I never really found them all that useful, on smaller mechs I have the speed to go around or get to the spot I need.
@@c182SkylaneRG Oh I've seen people enter orbit with their jump jets, and I love just circling around behind them while they float none too gently down and blap their mostly destoryed legs lol. I get people find them useful and fun, I'm just not one of them, probably cause I typically pilot heavys and assaults.
@@MidKnight2142 Depending on the heavy you can still float somewhere, but I totally get the Assault conundrum. I go from piloting my Viper one match to an Executioner the next match and get very frustrated that I'm not going anywhere. :) That said, I played in one of Snuggles Time's streams, where two opposing teams were running in opposite circles and shooting each other on the way by, and I just floated over the entire opposing team, shooting down at them from 300m in the air as they went by, completely oblivious to my presence until I was the last one left. :)

Chris Ballew Almost every review, thoughts video done about the new shiny, comments on the ultimate pack. No change. So yeah. Not going to happen. It’s what works for pgi.
Even Kana seems to have given up asking for a $5 discount on the ultimate pack, now he's only asking for some MC, which has been somewhat devalued in game these days.

Djesoo Kreesto Actually no. The Uziel suffered initially due to its barrel shape. The arm positioning isn’t that bad. In the Dervish’s case, you have a set of handy missile bays high up in the torsos. If the final product mirrors the art, it won’t be a problem like with the cataphract
This mech was really MEH on TT, pretty sure its gonna be MEH ingame. No ecm. No masc. Gonna be a tough sell since there are already great 55t mechs ingame. Should have dropped something that will sell like an Uribe 2c or the Phoenix hawk 2c.
