Matt -- your videos are becoming some of the best airgun hunting videos I can find on TH-cam. With the music, exposition, tips, and overall production quality of this video, it felt more like a mini-documentary than a casual TH-cam video. Keep up the great work!
Matt, these videos are fantastic. You cover so many aspects of hunting with brilliant balance of scenery, shooting and information. By the way, one of the early shots showed a dove with the upper mandible severely overgrown. A feature the illustrates the possible effects of inbreeding and even more, the super-abundance of food on the farms.
It’s like I went back in time. I’ve been watching your videos as if I was in the future🙃I’ve only seen this video like right now. Great video even though it’s 4years ago.
Nice perfect chilled shots with much of time wasted in hunters education.Matt you are great with your friends, seems to be little scared with the new situation. Cheers from Pakistan.
Literally, it is NOT a bull-pup, but it has enough of the quality to be able to 'get away' with calling it so. It is truly in its own class... a REALLY nice rifle, and a wonderful video showing it off. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! 😉cheers!🍺
+Michel Gaudet How is this not a bullpup? The barrel extenda back past the pistol grip and comes all the way back to the shoulder pad, so technically it is a bullpup
Its good to see a fellow pester. Great job. I have been following you and Ted. I work on the ground squirrels here in California. Its great fun. I am always looking for practical info on air rifles.
well done on the Comentry you explained the balance of nacher perfectly. and I like the look of that gun will be looking in to that in the near future thanks
Hi Matt, sorry to say this but PLEASE stop selling yourself SHORT?! Your videos are THE BEST, your shooting IS THE BEST and the way you engage your viewers is also THE BEST! I have watched thousands of vids on You Tube and in my opinion, yours are THE BEST! Keep up the good work Sharp Shot, you wave the South African flag with pride.
Matt, I very much appreciate your explanations of the ecology and natural history of the game you hunt and the ethics of responsible hunting, especially with respect to non-native and/or invasive species. It's valuable that folks understand that most hunters have a great appreciation wildlife and wild areas beyond the hunting component. You and Ted('s Holdover) do a great job of that. (Also, I'm very jealous of that rifle. I'll be saving up for one!)
+Ryan Thank you, you basically said what I wanted to say. So I will pile on here. As a naturalist and conservationist, and one who is a very avid birder. I too only hunt invasive and problem species. Seeing Matt control these birds and take the time to educate others not only makes me happy, but proud of him and his work.
+Ryan who would perform wildlife conservation if it weren't for hunters? Seriously, how many people who are against hunting ever go out in the woods and its not a designated hiking trail?
waw waw waw it's like the one of the best videos man as an air gunner I know how it's hard to not spook the pigeon and getting too close to the hunt especially with a .177 and the intro had me like "OH MY GOD I GOT TO SEE THIS" And I'm glad i saw it
Super great video - love your passion for the birds, AND bird hunting. Well done! I can't wait to buy my own FX Impact. I will use it to test some of our air rifle scopes.
Very impressive rifle . I was wondering how you cook these . They seem to be rather small, so I'm thinking they must be challenging to prepare for the pot. Then again, you had a good cooking instructor for your visit to England with Cai Ap Bryn didn't you ? Thanks for this Matt, it is most enjoyable to watch.
I actually already have gotten the wildcat .22 and I love it. The impact is nice but way too complex for what I wanted and plus,.... many people I have talked to have had issues with it. I am totally happy with the wildcat and with my military marksman experience, I am hitting dimes at 100 yards!
Matt, you are fortunate to have such great shooting close to home. You live in beautiful country, but the summers are a little too warm for my tastes. I look forward to more videos of your shooting. I'd also like to see more of what you do with the meat. Does it all go into a pie, or do you roast some, or grind into sausage? Personally, I wrap dove breast in bacon and grill on the BBQ. Served with potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, and cold beer, its a hard meal to not enjoy.
nice videos my friend....i watches few of them and i liked them very much. i am new with air rifles , i just got my first pcp. i bought a cometa lynx v10 on 5.5 cal. 22. I dont really understand it much...most of the time i be missing my shots. dont know if its because the rifle is not that good or it is me. i zerodown my telescope at 50 yards. i used jsb jumbo pellets 15,83 gr. what do you think i am doing wrong?
It is good that the ideas and concepts of being a good stewart to the land translate everywhere. Never kill for the sake of killing and never waste. If the more radical elements of the environmentalist and anti-hunting groups understood this, including many hunters, there would be less misunderstanding about how and why true hunters hunt.
thanks for these explanations about hunting small game, im planning on getting a springer air rifle for hunting. its good to know the most painless way to hunt for my own moral reasons. I would like to know what springer you would or the commenters may recommend? main game would be rabbits and/or pigeons and other small birds
Hello Matt, excellent video and presentation ~ impressive with the drone views too. I notice you are using the 'Eagle Vision' camera mount but the link is to another brand.. Keep up the good work.
Great shooting. I wish we had an all season pest goose here. that looks like a lot of meat. We're limited to the African, Eurasian collared doves and feral pigeons for year round pest species and meat birds. Are you going to be at EBR this October?
Hey Matt, got a question, what's your opinions on spring and gas ram air rifles, and how high of a chance is it that we could see a video of you harvesting small game with one? I think it'd be interesting as well as add a new challenge for you.
Don't think your going to see him us a spring gun anytime soon if you notice it is very open ground in that part of the world which means longer shots . Something pcp are, just better at .
True, and yes he does take 75-100m shots. However I believe its safe to assume that the large majority of his less then 50m. Which is within the ranges of a very large portion of spring and gas ram rifles.the only problem would be the time comsuming issue of acquiring one, sighting, and then when you're actually hunting there's the almost muzzle-loader type of time needed to ready for the shot.
I must admit, I find myself looking forward to your uploads. I for one entered the air powered extermination world 2 years ago, with a highly modified Silent Cat Springer (rubbish from the box) if you are willing to see my unique mods, I'd love your opinions. It isn't much, but it's an extension of a true marksman. I envy your location, but Mississippi is also a wooded paradise for similar varmints. I thoroughly love your channel and can't wait to see more.
Hi Matt, I have #12 Impact in Black. May I ask, what is the make of silencer you are using? I think I need one!! :) Keep up the good work!! Cheers, Kimo
Hey Matt! First off I love the videos, nothing like them anywhere else! I have a few questions though. One is, I hunt dove he in Pennsylvania and I use a shotgun. I was wondering if you lose some of the meat from the doves when you hit them in the chest? And also they band birds here in North America for scientific research. Do they do the same in Africa? Thanks and best regards! ---- Noah
Very nice, Matt. Next time, take all the doves home and make yourself a stew using the breasts of maybe 20 birds. I use the same stuff you would use for a beef stew; potatoes, onions, carrots, celery and whatever else you find tasty. My Impact finally arrived last week. It is in .25 and I'm thinking the slider shroud doesn't quieten it down as much as I would like. Going to have to work on a legal suppression method. But other than that, it is an incredible rifle!
I agree with the safety measures but I still love this guys videos especially the one where the camera man gets a few shots at night and he shoots a duicker that video is my favourite but I normally hunt with a .177 takes down a bird easly but I think I'm gonna buy a .22 it's a lot stronger but then I'm gonna buy the jsb exact pellets

It's a bullpup in my eyes at first glance.
drock
And why would you be able to call it a bullpup because quality enough?!?
Fantastic video as always, they seem to be getting better every time ! Look forward seeing many more !
Great video. Production values continue to rise. Bravo. Love the long format, too.

Good shooting and well stated. That's the exact reason the starlings and cowbirds won't get a pass in my area.
Well, you’re right at home with the impact now 🤣🤣🤣

Very beautiful air rifle 👍🏾
Well put together nice vids.
It felt as if i was there on the hunt. I love to walk open lands and take dove with air rifles. Great job you guys are doing down in SA.
You DON'T need to justify your shooting . It's well known to be Legal and Ethical. Regards and keep up the good work.
The cape turtle doves look like small eurasian collared doves.

+Kimo Hogan It's made by FX, specifically for the Impact. It's pretty new, so just give your local importer and check if they have in stock.
AirArmsHuntingSA Thank you very much Matt ! I love my Impact but ... she is a-bit "Loud" I will get one a.s.a.p.
All The Best,
