    I grew up in northern Utah. Every spring before we brought the horses back to the ranch my dad and I would clear out the corral of potguts (small version of prairie dog with a bushy tail) We would go up with our 22's and kill as many as we could on Saturday and half of Sunday. Then we would spend the last part of Sunday filling in all the holes made by the vermin. Didn't want the horses stepping in the holes. Some of my best memories with my dad.

My job may take me out there before June. If so, I hope to hook up with the Simmons and Justin for at least some coffee if not an afternoon shoot.

    Really enjoying seeing slugs/bullets make it to AG's mainstream. There are a few of us who have been using them for several years now. Some you know. Doug Noble, (Dyotat100), Cedric, (Tofazfou), Mike L. (KnifeMaker). With excellent results and true precision long range accuracy.
    My hat is off to you for working closely with FX , and NicK of Neilson ammunition.
    I enjoy my Dyotat100 .257, and have an R&L setup for it as well, also in .257. Just sent out one of the Taloln/?Dor .257 barrels out to Jefferson State Air Rifles for conversion to fit the Rainstorm. 25, inorder to convert it to .257. All valve work and port work completed by myself.
    I find the .22 used in this vid performing very well indeed! Many are awaiting the .25 and .30 slug barrels from FX.
    One of the more interesting creations I have seen of late is the Marauder HMAIR that Cedric, (Tofazfou) built for himself, with the work once again performed by Doug Noble, (Dyotat100. It is .172 cal. and a pure laser! He is getting headshots in the 100 to 200 yard range with fantastic accuracy from slugs he is casting himself.
    good stuff coming for and to the AirGunning world. ;

    Great rockchuck hunting video, Matt. Thanks. I grew up in similar farming country in eastern Washington state where rockchucks present serious problems to farmers and irrigation canal banks, as well. We shot them mostly with .22 rimfire but with larger rifle and pistol calibers, too. Tried to eat one but had to take it off the stove and air the house out from the smell. Don't know if it was just that chuck that stank so bad but never tried it again. I'm looking forward to your carp bowhunting video since we also killed literally thousands of carp that way. Jess

    Hi Matt, Once again a great clear video with informative information; I subscribed to your channel a good while back & have learnt so much from you. I shoot a Daystate Huntsman Classic XL FAC .22 with JSB Exact Diablo 15.89grain pellets at around 870ft per second. This rifle will shoot sub inch groups to 45yards; I know it's not my shooting as have let a friend who is a crack shot & he get's no better groupings. Thinking of getting an FX Impact X I need to shoot out to 65yards as have a number of sitty trees at this distance for crows/magpies & pigeons. At first after watching your videos I thought .25 at around 47ft lbs with 25.4grain pellet to buck the wind better than my .22 FAC Daystate. Then I saw your videos with Impact X barrel liners in .22 shooting 23grain slugs not sure at what feet per second. Would the slugs buck the wind better than 25grain JSB pellets? at 65yards. When shooting pellets they only carry so far down range; do the slugs carry further making them more of a risk with ricochets? Would really appreciate some of your knowledge on whether you think Impact X in .22 pellet or .25 pellet or go for slugs in .22 or .25 & at what grain / speed. I also shoot rabbits in the UK to 45yards I don't use sub 12ft lbs except for close range feeder work under 30yards. I've had 4 back operations for slip disc's so can't bend or crawl hence why I shoot at longer distances with FAC mainly prone or from a chair. Any help you could give would be much appreciated thanks for your time sorry so long winded but thought best to paint the full picture. Kind regards, Stephen Harris stephenharris1@blueyonder.co.uk Please keep up the good work as an ambassador for airguns that you are doing.
