These last 2 months I’ve almost completely cut out carbs. I’ve dropped 20 lbs in weight and 4 inches off my belly but added some muscle definition to my body. I keep my freezer filled with ground beef and steak.
My mind is clearer and I feel physically stronger. The gout and horrible inflammation I used to suffer all over my body has all but cleared up.

I am 5 weeks on the carnivore diet...nearly 20 pounds down, anxiety gone, arthritis in my knees, back and neck gone .... sleep like a rock ....stopped snoring completely.... I have incredible amounts of energy.... Two years ago I developed tinnitus and it was steady for 2 years ... now my tinnitus has been lessening, it isn't gone but it is much better. Oh and I cook all my steaks in an air fryer.I use butter but I make my own from locally sourced heavy cream from a nearby dairy farm. Thanks for keeping me inspired and for all of your encouraging words.God Bless.

I'm 3 weeks into (mostly) carnivore. I'm down 12 lbs and down a pants size so far. I always find myself cooking my ribeyes and porkchops in my 6 qt Bella air fryer. I get a perfect medium cook on a 14 oz ribeye at 400 degrees for 16-17 minutes.
I say mostly because I still eat broccoli, cauliflower, and avocado occasionally. I snack on cheese. I've also found that hot sauce is a great flavor.

Just picked up two rib roast today for 4.97 a pound. I always trim that thick fat chunk off my ribeyes, then the next morning I air fry it and have it with my eggs. Yes, I just had a bunch of chickenwings from the air fryer for dinner, just salt and pepper, love it! Went keto 2 months ago and carnivore for 3 weeks now, after being a vegetarian for 6 years and that ruined my health. I am overweight and I was tired and anxious all the time. Extremely low in vit b12 and D and my ferritin was so low, I couldn’t even donate blood anymore. Now I am healing, lost 7 kilo’s so far, gained muscle though so fat loss must be more than 7 kilo’s. Lost 3 inches of my waste. My joint pain is completely gone. No longer supplementing. I am 42 years old.

I just got the cinder grill, it’s definitely worth the wait. I’ve cooked about ten pounds of New York strips since I got it, so far 65-75 minutes each time at 1 1/2” thick. I like to sear for at least a minute, cooked perfectly all the way through, cuts so easily, juicy and almost melts in your mouth. If I had more space in the kitchen, I would get an air fryer also. I have been enjoying your videos and even ordered some redmonds smoked salt. I would like cooking temp and times ( my air fryer goes up to 400*) on how to cook a fresh (not frozen) rib eye in my air fryer. Thank you!

    • @FerrignoFreedom
      @FerrignoFreedom  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It depends on the thickness of the steak and the weight of the steak. For example a 16 to 20 ounce thawed steak roughly one and a quarter to one and a half inch inches thick 400° at 15 to 16 minutes should be enough.
If you want to be more accurate with your cooking though, and you don’t want to buy a new air fryer like the Dreo ChefMaker I use now, I recommend a wireless temperature probe like the Meater2+ (I have a link in the description of more recent videos.) This way you can always cook it to the internal temperature you’re striving for; no more guessing and overcooking.

Thank you for your reply Dante, I just got my air fryer for Xmas 2023. I did 400 for 22 min and checked the internal temp twice. i stopped it at 145* and let it rest for 3 min. Finished at 154^ med well, just how i like it. Air fryers have a learning curve for sure, my first steak turned out good. Next time i will cook the rib eye from frozen to see if it will be a bit more crispy.

Hey Dante.... My air fryer is the Ninja brand. (Costco- $169), It has an awesome ceramic coated grilling plate and integral thermometer probe that really makes a great steak . It tells you when to flip but the food comes out charred on both sides whether or not its flipped. Don't understand why you're targeting such a high temp,145 degrees? For me, 112 degrees
gives a perfect spot between med rare and rare. The fryer comes with its own cleaning brush that is the best tool for quick cleaning of that grilling plate. My only issue with the fryer so far is that, on the grilling setting, the probe must be attached whether or not I use it, and I sometimes would rather just "wing" it for a thin or small steak or maybe would like to try that "meater". This is especially true with frozen steaks since you can't insert the probe. So I have been using the gas grill for the frozen ones so far. There are some videos out there that help with cooking frozen meat this way. Also think I've found a source up here
in Massachusetts for getting a side of beef in the range of $5-$7 lb. which is a great price around here. Even Costco is charging $10-$11 per lb. for choice rib eye roasts.
Anyway, Hope you and yours have a great Christmas, all the best.

You said you had it set to 475, but ambient never made it much beyond 425. My air-fryer only goes to 400. My Meater says ambient gets to 390. I bet that's why it took longer than normal. Now I want to see your fryer get to 475, before I consider the purchase. Love that Meater. I bought one after watching yours.

I'm definitely too early on in my carnivore experience to do a zoom call that would interest anyone, but I do have an experience/question to share: last night my daughter was cooking what used to be my favorite beef and broccoli, and the smell was HORRIBLE. I almost had to go outside because it was literally making me nauseous. Then I realized that kind of thing has been happening, just not to the same degree, for a couple weeks on and off when I smell food cooking that's not carnivore. Now that I think about it, things like ranch dressing and tomato sauce have had that effect too. Has that ever happened to you? I'm hoping it's a good sign, even though it might make for some unpleasant situations. Maybe it'll eventually get that way for sweets and coffee. Then I wouldn't want them :)

Just got the powerXL and cooked my first ribeye on it yesterday. It was amazingly delicious. One thing I struggle with on keeping up with just eating fatty meat everyday is getting the fat itself crispy and cooked. I was cooking it in a pan for awhile and not all the fat would get touched with the heat and would stay rubbery and just tasteless, and wouldnt be too appetizing. I found with the air fryer im able to get all the fat edges to get crispy and flavorful since the heat is all around it. Have you tried using the air fryer mode with your steaks or only the grill function? I used the grill mode on mine and still came out great but curious to what difference air fryer mode would make on it. Love the videos man, inspired me to take carnivore more seriously to heal my IBS-D!

Grill just does a preheat preset to 450°F, but it does make it more accurate for timing the same amount of meat. Start with your steak still frozen and you will really get your fat crispy.

Asking everyone and docs on TH-cam
I am soo upset. Today I ended a 3 day fast with not 1 pound let alone an ounce of weight loss. I have been carnivore for 2 years now. I started with Ken berry "just eat meat" that got me 80, 90% better. I am not dogged by carb cravings. This woe took me from 30 years of diagnosed diabetes with an a1c of 14 to 6.2 in April, I haven't had blood work done since but I believe it's better still. I don't take anymore insulin or metformin but my weight is stuck at 226 after 6 months of Dr boz high fat. It went up to 231 at first but after some 1 and 2 day fasts in came back down to 226 but I can't figure out what e.se I can do.
I wonder if I will ever heal and loose any more after 25 years of injections upto 300 units daily when I started
I am 57, had a complete hysterectomy 18mos ago cause of endometrial cancer, hashimoto I think has improved too. My hbp is better at until today when I had checkup at gyno oncologist where it was crazy high, idk maybe cause of the 3 day fast, I did wake with slight headache. I just don't know what else to do. Maybe all that insulin when I was insulin resistant has caused too much damage, BTW my fasting insulin was 14 even mos after I started carnivore, who knows what it was before I started as docs never tested it before I learned and requested it to be tested

    • @FerrignoFreedom

It’s the size and thickness that matters for timing. I cook a 1.25” ribeye around 14-16 oz from frozen in 23-24 minutes. I set it on grill, at 475°F, add the meat when it says to “add food” and flip the steak at the midway point. Remove from heat immediately when the timer switches to the end point (you’ll see a spiraling rectangle on the screen). Don’t let it stay in the air fryer through that part, it’s usually too long. I let it rest for 3-5 min, and clean the air fryer while the steak rests. If you have a probe you can judge the timing accurately to your tastes. Good luck! 👍🏽

@@FerrignoFreedom I cooked mine at 450. I didn't realize you could just open lid and turn it over so I ended up stopping and restarting the dang thing. That added some time, but I guesstimate I cooked this thick sirloin, (not frozen) in about 16-18 minutes. Was a bit raw in the center, but cooked on the edges. I like a more even pink throughout, but it came out good nonetheless. Thanks so much for your help and happy holiday. I will be asking more questions down the road about meat because I just started eating it again at age 60. I have never eaten beef since age 10. Literally have no clue. LOL! 400°F to 450°F works whether from frozen or from thawed. When frozen, I prefer 450°F if the steak is under 1.5” thick because it doesn’t overcook the exterior but it gets nice and crispy outside. Many air fryers only go to 400°F but the results are similar, and may just take a little longer. The time will vary depending on the weight and thickness. I wouldn’t recommend anything under 1” thick if cooking from frozen.

An elimination diet consisting of three ingredients: meat from ruminant animals, water, and salt. It allows you body to reset by eliminating everything your body doesn’t need. Then after a number of months you can experiment with foods you’d like to reincorporate into your diet and look for reactions that let you know if you do or don’t want to continue eating those foods. (Reintroducing foods should not include obvious problem items like processed food, refined sugar, or seed oils, but natural foods.)
