      WATCHING THE WATCHERS Because some people just give money and sadly that’s then used to buy alcohol or drugs, having a card/giving a card will ensure the money on it is spent on food, essential items as mentioned in the video.

    Pretty simple way to make it commercial. Pay 12 euros for a 10 euro voucher. You're paying for the guarantee they can only use it to buy necessities with. Get government to issue fines for people who accept the currency for non-essentials like alcohol, and use those fines to fund NGO's and business costs such as printing.

    • @EarlSquirrelsonn
      @EarlSquirrelsonn 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Personally, I’d rather just give the person €12 cash. Save €2 being gobbled up by the company - for whatever they’re gonna use it for.

    • @gamewithadam7235
      @gamewithadam7235 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@EarlSquirrelsonn You make it sound like you can't have one without the other. If you want to give a homeless person 12 euros you can give them 12. If you don't want to risk giving it to someone who is fake homeless beggar or some drug addict, you might prefer to support the homeless currency. Sure you're losing 2 euros to a company, but it gives a guarantee that you can only spend the currency on essentials, far less likely to be able to spend it on drugs or alcohol. Make it illegal and a fine for people who use the homeless currency for items that are non-essential, so it's higher risk for fake homeless beggars. Yeah, you have more money going to private companies, but that money will get taxed and that money can be used by government to support the homeless, like schemes to put food clothing and essentials on the street for them. It beats having a fake homeless beggar taking people's money and being selfish with it.

    I would couple the voucher system with an "account card" of sorts. It would utilise existing infrastructure and create accountability to lessen the incidence of fraud. The value of the voucher would be placed on the card and the card can be used via existing systems. In addition to this people could scan a QR on the back of the card and donate via their bank account or even purchase a voucher and add it remotely.

    • @MissFoxification

      @velveteyes79 There are always ways to exploit things but we don't toss them aside for that reason. Accountability inhibits the amount someone can scam.

      It's demeaning enough for someone to be living like that without having to explain to strangers that they need cash not vouchers because they can't get to the store they're valid at and need tampons now. Are the trains going to accept them? Phone credit? Enough shops to allow any kind of freedom of movement? The person pitching the card idea will likely get hired by a charity organization to come up with more ideas. If you want to donate to the homeless, then give a donation to a homeless shelter or volunteer at one every once in a while to help out. Most homeless people in my area do get a government handout from my taxes for food and can get things and clothes free or from second hand thrift stores. Every effort made to help the downtrodden will suffer abuse. There is no perfect system. Let the cynics sit on their hands.
    The effort is being made - and that's priceless. They'll get better in time and do more good than imagined.

    Nice idea but to be honest I help homeless alot and simply ask them if they would like Me to get them food and drink or I go buy the stuff and offer it to them.

    I get the idea but I feed homeless all the time, I don't need a card to do so. I goes like this
    Me - hey mate are you ok?
    Homeless - Yes you?
    Me - Yes not to bad, I can get you some food and drink.
    Homless - That would be great thanks.
    Me - How about I get you this drink and this food?
    Homeless - That would be really good mate thanks.
    Then go get the food and drink and give it to them. Not hard.
