  • Carissa, her stepdad Martin and their friend and accountant Frank believe they have designed a piece of furniture that will create a better everyday life for people who live with a disability. Carissa, Martin, and Frank are seeking an investment of €30,000 in return for a 10% equity stake in 'Able Table'.
    An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

    Aside from its important function, it's actually aesthetically pleasing too. It's kind of funky! But they need to bring the cost down though. Funding will be cut everywhere now so this will be a hard sell. I really hope it does well for them.

    As an ex nurse who is now a wheelchair user myself and having a child who attends a special needs school, I think that this is a wonderful concept and a very much needed piece of equipment for several different settings. The only slight thing I would change is the name. I would call it the enable table as it enables a sense of equality to all those who are seated around it 😉 😀 Fantastic product no matter the name!! Hmmm. Cutting a 5cm deeper gouge into a table so that the carer can be nearer.....
    Why not just take the table away and there would be nothing in between the chair and the carer ???
    OR jut get a smaller table ?????
    WHY do you have to fill up the spaces with "table" .......
    No bloody wonder it hasn't been done before. There is NO need for it.
    AND lets just tap into the rich market place where insurance companies pay and, at the same time, push your premiums up or maybe even the schools where we can tap into the tax payer's money.
    THEN OF COURSE: in come the "Dragons". "Why don't you have it made in China ? and take good work away from a workshop in Ireland ?
    This show is such an insight into how and why Europe has flushed its economy down the drain.

    • @AnotherDud3
      @AnotherDud3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@team3383 Because you can't get close to a normal table with a wheelchair and still be able to feed people if needed, you'd have them facing you, whereas with this you're in front ever so slightly so can still feed the person if needed.
      Don't get why you're even ranting, it's a table to help people with needs greater than most, it was a good pitch for a good product, leave them be ffs

    • @team3383
      @team3383 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AnotherDud3 what if you took the table away ? you would be even more free as a carer to feed a person next to you in a wheel chair ..... Thats the answer to your question.
      This table doesn't solve any issue at all.
      The "rant" as you call it, is about something that is NOT needed and therefore didn't exist and the way people called "Dragons" ruin their own economy by raping it of work that could - and should - be done locally rather than exporting the know-how and jobs to China.
      Anything more I can do to help your rather narrow mindedness ?
