    2020 Honda CRF250L ProTaper Bar Install, I used the protaper woods high but chose whichever one you want. keep in mind the stock bars and mounts are for a 7/8 bar so you if you are buying a 1 1/8 bar you will need to get the adapters too like I did in this video.

    Finally an install video that doesn't gloss over the install of the controls. Everyone says to remove the dowels and tape but that didn't work for me at all. Going to purchase new controls since I removed the dowels from mine and drill the bars.

    I know you have listed your cameras, etc., but wanted to drill down on a specific question. What are you using for your riding set up. What Camera, Helmet Mount, and Mic are you using?
    Another question about the camera....I'm a total idiot when it comes to them. Are you just constantly recording? When I ride, I would love to capture some "once in a while" situations,.etc., but I don't really want to record the entire ride. Ideally, I'm hoping that maybe you could set up the camera where it's doing like a 5min record loop...then something happens that you want to capture, you hit a button, the past 5min gets "saved", and then it goes back into this looping....where it's recording, but not saving. Does it have anything like that?
    Back in the fall, I had a great day ride that was around 6 hours of riding. I wouldn't want all that recorded, but there were about 5 or so things that I would have loved to have captured....the near miss with a deer would have been one of them.

      For the helmet I'm using a Shoei GT Air, GoPro mount on the chin of the helmet held with Sugru glue. As for camera it's a Hero 9 with the media mod and max lens mod. the media mod gives you a mic output and the max lens mod just gives a wider angle of view which is opinion based whether you like the wider angle or not. As for the microphone that is where I'm lacking for quality, I don't know what kind of mic I have I bought a pack of 2 off amazon several years ago and they are not good. I will probably buy a RODE Lav Mic when they are back in stock at B&H again. I also tried a RODE Wireless go in my helmet and it sounded horrible, what I realized is the mic needs to be farther from my mouth. In the review video I did the mic was mounted under the padding in the back of my head.
      As for the loop recording that would be cool, and with a quick google search I guess most have a loop feature and I don't know how to turn in on yet put it does say you cannot enable protune if you have loop on which I wouldn't be interested in not having on. It does get old sifting through hours of footage, I hope this is helpful..cheers!

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've honestly never heard of protaper pre drilling holes in the bars for specific bikes. Mainly because they come long for you to cut them down to the size you want which would make the hole locations different for everyone

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ohh no, did you buy new grips? If not the grip needs to be on right if it doesn’t snap back don’t go out riding until you figure out why

  • @damacknificent151
    @damacknificent151 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Noticed you changed the bar clamps a couple times from protaper facing outward to inward. Was there issues being one way over the other?

    • @ScoutsOut

    • @damacknificent151
      @damacknificent151 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ScoutsOut is it bad to install the clamps the other way? Or this way is if you want pad to fit? What about cables are they pretty tight with a slight higher bar and clamp

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure if it would be wrong to mount them the other way. As for the cables they still have room, all the way to lock on the left is the tightest and it still has play in it

    I dropped my 300L using the kickstand in the dirt.

    I'll bet it feels like a whole new bike, nothing like updated quality controls. You are lucky the stock bars didn't bend when you tied the bike down in the back of the truck, some are about as strong as aluminum foil 🤣

    Hi
    Do you have lot number for handlebar type and riser?

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea for sure, the bars are contour woods high 027957. The mounts are universal solid 022821, the mount is not really a riser as much as a conversion from the smaller 1-1/8 stock bar mount to the 3/4 mount which is needed for the larger bar. Hope this helps...cheers!!

      Sry you think that, when you buy these bars you have to by the conversion plates that go between the mounting point on the bike and the handlebars. Without the brackets they do not fit the adapters are 7/8 to 1 1/8, and I should have talked more about that in the video description

      The stock bars are made of steel and bend very easily in a crash, there are many benefits from changing them out, sry that you don’t feel that way. I’m glad you got your money back, cheers
