    UPDATE: I rerouted the brake line BEHIND the zeta mounts and now it’s fine. The only thing questionable is the clutch cable which I will be replacing with a klx 300R clutch cable to get another inch or so of length.

      Can you link the clutch cable you would recommend? I’ve been looking and I’m not confident I have the right one

      www.ebay.com/itm/325625205006?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=OJvg2O8wSte&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=7S78v0MrRzO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY this is the one I got. It’s from a 2007 klx 300r so I’d imagine any clutch cable for a 300r in those years would do. It’s just slightly longer.

      Did you consider getting riser spacers for the stock handlebars before getting the new handlebars?

    • @DrewCreate
      @DrewCreate  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@spartanx169xjust saw this! But no I didn’t because I knew the stock bars were kinda cheaply made and I figured if I’m gonna change anything I might as well do it in the form of an upgrade

    Nice presentation, thanks for all the details, and the warnings on what not to do!!. Inspires me to get this mod done. Otherwise, when standing up my stance is too cramped & unstable.

    Very timely and helpful. I bought a KLX 300 2 months ago and plan to replace the handlebars, add barkbusters, and add oxford heated grips, and maybe add a half inch of rise (the fit with the stock bars is pretty good for me when standing).

    • @DrewCreate
      @DrewCreate  ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! I just got my new throttle tube in so I’m going to make a video of installing my Oxford heated grips soon.
      Also I have a couple other parts coming in too! These bars are really nice for me when standing I had to hunch forward too far on the stock ones. I’d definitely recommend the zeta mounts for installing your bark busters because if you use handlebar mounts you might run into clearance issues with the bolt on the master cylinder.

    I’m near Cincinnati OH, just laid down my bike and need to get these bars. Love the trails you hit at the end! If anyone seeing this knows of trails near me let’s go riding !!

      Nice! Not so nice about the laying the bike down, but shit happens! Yeah man I’ve been really liking the bars so far. I’d recommend for sure

    I used the tusk 7/8 bars and my clutch lever goes a little higher like yours and the bars do make the bike feel bigger in a good way.

    • @DrewCreate
      @DrewCreate  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment man! That’s good to know! I wasn’t sure if it was a result of the bend or because of where I placed the lever. I think I will ultimately get a new clutch cable for this set up.

    Thanks for the video. I was wondering what bars to order for my KLX , need them to be a bit taller when standing. 3/4 inch might be perfect. Good tips.

    ODI Lock On grips the way to go. Held by a locking ring. Say goodbye to glueing grips on and struggling to get them.

      @DrewCreate  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ll have to look into those! I wanted heated grips so I went with Oxford but I kinda wish I would’ve gone with the tusk heating element so I would have more grip options

    What brand / model of windshield do you have? National doesn't make one specific to the KLX 300. The generic one I bought doesn't work because of the cross bar on the handlebar. I thought I'd have to replace the handlebars just to be able to put on a windshield, but you have one with the stock bars. I am fine with the stock bars, but I am addicted to windshields. Finding a windshield that works with the stock bars would be a much easier install than switching bars. Thanks

      That’s the link to the one I have, Zeta does make one specific to the klx 300 but it’s about 3 times as much. Looks more robust though. Hope that helps!

      ZE70-1101 that’s the model number for the zeta windshield. “Vivid racing” sells it.

    I heard that aluminum doesn’t spark. Any weight saving with the new bars?

    • @DrewCreate
      @DrewCreate  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeahhhh, I wasn’t even thinking in my head I was like metal=sparks lol. And maybe a little but nothing noticeable to me they’re a lot thicker than the old bars so it probably equals out the fact they’re aluminum

    Do pro tapers bend on first drop more or less 15mph? Any owners with some feedback? Also thanks for the video, I figured it was relatively easy to replace handlebars.

      They do not. I’ve dropped the bike a couple of times with them and so far so good. They’re way stronger than the stock bars

    I got a 2009 KLX SF it's got the Evo handlebars on it that raised up a little bit but the clutch cable is too short it's too tight which clutch cable would you recommend me ordering somebody said order one for the 300 and it will work because it's 2 in longer and that's about what I need what do you think

    • @DrewCreate
      @DrewCreate  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s what I did I ordered one for the 300r. I haven’t put it on yet cause this one’s not really pulling the clutch it just gets right when I turn the wheel all the way. I’m gonna put it on soon though once I get my garage put back together (I’ve been renovating my garage)
