    Thanks for the video!! Although it's FAR EASIER to LEAVE the bar weight on the end. Roll back the handgrips so you can see the holes in the bars. Use a pointy object to rotate the clips sideways so the tabs go under the edges. Then spray with some light oil. Pull it out by the bar end. Hope that helps the next person!

    There’s two little tabs at the end of the stock bar end. All you had to do was squeeze both of those at the same time and use the stock bar end screw to pull on and the inner weight will come right out.

    Thanks for this. I got so pissed that I grabbed that mushroom shaped metal piece barehanded and pulled the whole insert out.
    I was twisting it with the same Vessel screwdriver that you have there and just yanked out the throttle side. If you didn't know those grey handled ones are self contained impact screwdrivers. Hit the end with a hammer and it'll twist counter clockwise.

    Excellent video. The way you took the opportunities to explain, it took all the mystery out of it.

    Interesting that your inner weight spins when you try to remove the screw. I installed zeta handguards on my 300L and the end weight unscrewed easily. The inner weights were rigid in the bar, so I tapped the inner weight to change the threading to M8 to fit the handguard screw, and it tightened down super tight. They don't move at all. Much firmer than using the traditional expander bolt, and I still have inner weights.

      Silly question but how did you change the inner weight from M6 to M8?

    Excellent information!
    What about the throttle side, isn’t there more parts on the right hand side? I just want to add hand guards to the stock handlebars...

    I used some vice grips a old inner tube to clamp down the spinning weight. Then just used a large screw driver which I clamped down as well to get some leverage. One day I will own and impact drill.

    Thanks for sharing this in-depth how-to vid! Do you think it would be possible to leave the handlebar weight and tap a larger in it to take the larger bolt the barkbuster provides?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was thinking about this. I'll have to look at it more to see if there is enough metal in the internal weight side. I wouldn't mind more weight in there to reduce vibrations. There is also a product call a handlebar snake, basically a long rubber insert that goes into the handle bar to absorb vibrations. But also you can put in shot, BBs, in the handlebar to add weight.

    Basically, Over engineered for a Bar End Weight. Many Years Ago, as you Tightened the Screw it Expanded Internally. Wife has a 2021 MT03, just installed some Handguards, what a Nightmare, basically, internally there is a 10mm Solid Piece of Metal with a Thread that is Glued in the End of Bars, had to Cut 10mm of the Bars off so that i get the Handguards Mounted, all Worked out Fine in the end.

    Blow compressed air under the grip…..it will slid on or off easily

    This way you don’t need to even take bolt out if your changing grips just cut them off and do what he does.

    Been using a punch on those little tabs for the last half hour but nothing is moving. What am I doing wrong?

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  ปีที่แล้ว

      They have a springiness to them that keeps them pop outwards into the holes. Notice that the punch is angled to help push the tabs out of the hole. Don't need to hit the punch very hard, just light taps enough to push down and out the tabs so they un-slot from the hole

    • @richardkenna149

      @@DaBinChe thanks for the quick reply! I'll try the angle method.

      @DaBinChe hmmm got the tabs clear, I can get some small sideways movement and it does feel a bit springy/rubbery but the whole assembly inside the bar is not budging.. very frustrating

    For what it’s worth, I took mine out with a JIS screwdriver.

    • @DaBinChe
      @DaBinChe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It just came off? That is usually not normal. Normally it just spins cause the female side is not hard mounted and is in a rubber sleeve.

      @@DaBinChe Yeah, not sure why. I did it out of ignorance before seeing your video, and with some effort it just worked. Haha.
