- Connie and I head into the Alaska backcountry by off road vehicle from our house to do a winter campout in a hot tent. We have been looking forward to this for some time. Come along with us.
Connie's Pizza Sauce
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
1 6 oz can tomato paste
1 T Oregano
1 1/2 t dried minced garlic
1 t paprika
Mix ingredients and use. Any leftovers can be froze for future needs.

Here at Far North Bushcraft And Survival you will learn about many long forgotten tricks and tips of the old time woodsmen. Not only will you learn about bushcraft / woodcraft but you will learn many things that will help you to survive in less than ideal "survival" situations as well. Yes, we gave up backpacking a few years ago and miss winter tent trips iinto the backcountry. Lonnie and Connie have shown there is no need to give up our country outtings and will start working on that for a winter trip or two of "backcountry glamping" as we are now calling it.

That was an awesome trip. I love watching you 2 do what you do. My wife and i did the same thing years back, now she cannot after chemo from breast cancer been a few years since we cold camped. She just cannot do the cold anymore. God bless and keep camping.

The silicone potholder does look like a puppet. Multiple uses! I have flat ones that are very nonslip and wash in the sink. One of the best inventions. The ones with honeycomb pattern are squishy. You make the best camping food will remember the slow cooked frying pan pizza.

Hey Connie and Lonnie! Had to try out the bannock pizza and we now have a new favourite meal at the cabin! I've been making bannock for over 30 years, and it's one our favourite meal additions as well as used for sandwiches. I've always made it as a more sticky dough that I spoon and then press out with an oiled spoon, so this was a new method for me with making it drier and rolling it. Thanks so much for broadening my bannock making horizons!
