  • Wife and I go for a winter campout in our homemade tent which was heated with our homemade stove. It was 15 degrees Fahrenheit but still quite comfortable in the tent. We have also done a video on how to make teh stove that we used in this video as well as a video on how to make the tent. We also will leave a link below to a video in which we show how to make one of our favorite breads, "Steam Baked Bread."

Hello my name is Lonnie and My wife is Connie.
Here at Far North Bushcraft And Survival you will learn about many long forgotten tricks and tips of the old time woodsmen. Not only will you learn about bushcraft / woodcraft but you will learn many things that will help you to survive in less than ideal "survival" situations as well. Come along and sit with me by the campfire as I delve into these subjects in a way that you can easily learn to then do yourself.
I will show you how to make shelters, gather food, use wild medicines as well as start fires with or without matches, lighters, ferro rods, etc

Thanks for showing people how to construct a shelter that most people can afford to make. Connie reminded me of an Eskimo mom pulling her kids on a sled.

A 63 degree temperature difference with an 1/8 thick wall is pretty good. Nice setup!

The cooking inspires me to get up to have oatmeal this morning. A good break away from the news. I always think of old time trappers who only heard news rarely.

The moose steak does look so delicious and the vegetables are looking great also and you all must be enjoying that meal. The heater does look great and you have plenty of talent and must have been in the military at one time. The bread you all made looks like the bread I sometimes makes at home and love it since it is made on the stove top.
