I thought the Akira didn't have a tech slot until you upgraded your Captain skill by... A whole load of points. It's been one of my biggest challenges in the campaign so far
Hey guys, I really enjoy your battle reports on Alliance and I still love that game. Thank you so much for it. Anyway I don't want be a smartass but don't you have to swerve and break up formation (refering to the bug coming in from above at the beginning of 'evacuation') when you've got a chance to avoid collision with an asteroid? 4 straight becomes 3 bank?
Yes you do. There are specific cases when you don't, such as if you can't then you just ram the thing. I'll have to find where you're referring to (timestamp) and see if we just messed up. Lol
Played this same mission today with my six year old. Oddly picking same exact ship setups and plan without having seen this vid (Akira was on the outside edge is the only diff). My Akira blew up with one sensor data towards the end (amazing rolls similar to your game) and the little guy got away with the other one. He will be cheered up when he gets up tomorrow seeing the devs run into worse trouble. :D
I have really enjoyed your campaign which got me back into the game with the exception of one big flaw. You can only use upgrade points up to the level of your Captain skill. So if your Captain skill is 2, even though you may have 5 points in your command level you can’t use Riker at level 5 because your Captain skill is 2
I found this very confusing at first, but it is the "elite talents" (medal icon) that are locked behind captain skill and this does not apply to the Riker card. On page 4 we are given the upgrade types and they are "crew", "weapon" and "tech". Riker is a cost 5 crew card (chevrons logo) so you can have him at the start if you invest 5 xp in the crew bar.

You are correct. It doesn't. Did Joe use tech!.! That dirty cheater. ;)
He never did actually use it during this scenario, so he was basically playing a point short.
You are right. I notcied that too. The Basic load out of the Akira does not have an tech upgarde slot.
How does he have so many ships? Multiple core sets?
Yes. Also we have every ship multiple times from the old days.

The campaign book, pg 5 " Introductory Mission" says the Akira can be equiped with the Commander card.
