  • PORK EMBUTIDO is a Philippine adaptation of meatloaf. It is made with ground pork and stuffed with hard-boiled eggs and sliced ham or various sausages. Different regions have their way of preparing this dish. They mixed the ground pork with exciting ingredients such as cheese, red bell pepper, sweet pickle relish, sweet peas, carrots raisins and more. To bind the mixture well, they used bread crumbs and eggs not just flour and stuffed with tender juicy hotdogs. Thus, during special occasions and holidays PORK EMBUTIDO is always served. It is one of the top choice dishes.
    Katerno Foods shares a video how to make a VERY SPECIAL PORK EMBUTIDO. Most of the ingredients cited above were used. Interestingly, banana leaves were used to wrap the pork embutido. In addition, the preparation of the ingredients, mixing the ingredients and two -step method of cooking is all shown.
    Once the VERY SPECIAL PORK EMBUTIDO is cooked, you can refrigerate to last for 3-4 days.. This is best served with steamed rice or bread. Banana catsup is choice condiment.

    VERY SPECIAL PORK EMBUTIDO
    Ingredients
    (for 12 meat rolls)
    1 K ground pork
    6 large eggs, beaten
    1 large carrot, minced
    1 ½ C bread crumbs
    2 large onions, finely chopped
    2 stalks spring onion, finely chopped
    ½ head garlic, minced
    ¼ C sweet pickle relish
    1 large red bell pepper
    ½ C grated cheese
    ½ C evaporated milk
    ½ C raisins, finely chopped
    Salt and pepper to taste
    For Filling:
    6 Hotdogs
    6 Hard boiled eggs
    Banana leaves for wrapping
    Margarine or butter
    Aluminum foil

      Ingredient-wise, the use of banana leaves for wrapping, the cooking itself, and more.
      The taste is really delicious (as is) even without condiments! Best served with steamed rice and bread. BTW, you can refrigerate for days without compromising the taste. Thus, you can savor the VERY SPECIAL PORK EMBUTIDO longer.
