How do you guys like the snowshoes and what brand are they? I still have my Grandfathers shoes and the rawhide is quite worse for wear and those are all I've known so Sabrina and I are having a hard time chosing what brand/size to purchase.
Such a great question - my (Jay's) grandfather's original style wood and hide with leather straps are still at the camp (you will notice them in some camp vids, hanging on the wall), and they're the best for deep, soft snow. Jay's are Outbound Glacier28's and they're pretty good until the snow gets really powdery, then they're picking up more snow than they're pushing down! Sheri's are Yukon Charlie Expedition 24" long. She's much lighter, though...so she floats atop the snow easily, especially if I'm breaking trail ;)
@@beautyofthebackcountry that good to know. And ya, my Grandfathers were great for powder. I think the only thing that confuses me is the size. Grandas are so huge and wide, I'm not used to anything else lol and we aren't sure how to gage size. Like 28's seem so tiny compared to what I'm used to.
@@robintheoutside Oh absolutely the 28's aren't great in powder, but decent if there's a crust. I would say the trade off is that their narrow structure makes walking with a normal gait more achievable and they're less bulky. They come in longer models as well, if you want more buoyancy!
Less words sometimes mean more. So Thanks May Peace Health and Happiness follow you and yours
Many thanks, Bill. The very same to you and yours!
Enjoyed! Thanks for sharing.✌️
Thanks for checking it out!
It's so beautiful to walk in the snow and warm up by making a bonfire.
We couldn't agree more! Thanks for tuning in :)
Happy new year! Love that your soaking up all the snow you can in that wonderland 💙💙.
