PSA: The m4 is only about 3% faster than the m3 if you do not count the greatly improved ML accelerators. It is 200% faster in this and massively boosts the synthetic Benchmark score.
I was looking to buy the M3 soon, but might wait now for the M9 instead.
Lol
if this confuses you, then an M1 Air is probably plenty over powered for your needs. Relax!
M5 or M6 with Oled displays are the ones.
I’m waiting till Apple RISK-V comes out
It will be out next year, Christmas.
I was looking to buy a M3 Mac - but will now wait for the M4 lineup - suspect I will not be alone in this, so I would expect Mac sales to tank until M4 arrives.
I feel like Apple might be cooking something up for WWDC for iPad OS. That’s why I’m waiting to see what they have for us. I was thinking of getting a MacBook but will wait and see.
@@lgmarquez5469 Same same
Same! I was going to buy a 16 in m3max but I’m going to wait now
Same for me. I can't see anyone buying an M3 MacBook pro at this point unless they are desperate. Apple should offer a generous trade-in for M3 MacBooks and release the M4 MBP asap. This way they will not upset the people who just bought an M3 MBP and we can all move on to the M4 MBP.
Osborne effect all over again.
Apple probably didn't hype the m4 chip details so people would still keep buying the products that are still on M3
True that
No, they don't hype it up because it is unnoticeably faster than the M3 in general compute performance. It is WAY faster in AI tasks, but that's about it. The M4 is made for efficiency, cost cutting and buzzword effectiveness (AI), not massive performance gains.
@@ElZamo92 How do you know this?
Nope its most likely not way faster at all for AI. It looks like its scaled about the same as the processor and memory bandwidth, 20% at most is my guess. The quoted 38tops is probably @ 8 bit.... vs m3 18tops at 16... And the neural engine is hardly used in any real AI like Llama.... Its an absolute beast per watt though, but to see how it does in AI vs m3 there needs to be some tests done first before blindly suggesting its way faster.
@@ElZamo92 The reason the chips are so much better is because apple's chip supplier, TSMC, switched over form the N3B node, which was basically just an in between node that was used basically just for apple, and it was kind of a nightmare and had really bad yields, and it took an EXTRA SIX LAYERS of EUV work at minimum, and in some parts of the chip it needed MORE layers than that. Plus the chip leaked a lot of power compared to what it should have been, and also the performance was like 5-10% lower than what it should have been, which is what this new process node is meant to correct. And so now, because the process is much easier, and the yields are gonna be much higher, meaning that they don't have to shell out tons of money on chips that fail to work properly, means that they can put WAY MORE CORES on these chips, much more easily, and so even tho m4 multicore really isn't that much more powerful per core than the m3 chips, the fact is that now they can get 10 on the m4 instead of 8 on the m3. And they also fixed a few critical issues that were holding back the single core performance, and made some major improvements to a few core areas of the chip that will stop the single core performance from being bottlenecked.
Bro so deep he prob dreams about apple silicon every night ... or has nightmares.
Probably lol
For sure. When i started to install blinds as a job, i had dreams about them. It was a sign that i needed a break.
Hahah haven’t gotten there yet.
When your first word in every sentence is Bro, I suppose anyone else is deep.

78 percent of us use the iPad for Netflix and the other percent is gaming and video production
AAA games are starting to hit mobile now. I'm sure that will be the norm in the future. That's basically what I'm using it for.
Some use the iPad Pro for inventory management and high-end restaurants (waiter or host). Although the Samsung Galaxy Tablet 9 does that and slightly better, minus CPU speeds.
@@akin242002 doesn’t take to much to run a simple Ui that is runs on native coding which take less ram and performance

Do people really game on ipads? The things thermal throttle after about 15 mins and you have to keep them plugged in with anything more demanding
Yes, it would be great if Apple announced the whole M4 thing at WWDC 2024. Reset the whole thing.
i am genuinely excited this time around for M4 family. People usually say that Apple products are overpriced, but nowadays a single enthusiast GPU will cost you just about a MacBook Pro price, or indeed a Mac Studio price. And you will need to pay that if you work with 3d, simulations, rendering, and any other heavy duty creative workloads.
Seems like architectural improvements and node advantages will help me get over the fear of missing out on beefy PC parts. I currently own an M2 mac mini and a very powerful PC rig, and will be happy to fully switch at last.
That’s not true a high end GPU is 450 for AMD and 550 for Nvidia and they are faster than anything Apple has ( Apple charges more than the GPU price just for a bit of ram )
@@GarrusVakarian-to2uh if a $550usd GPU is 'high end' from your point of view, you are in for a rough awakening whenever you will need to do high-end sims and rendering with GPU acceleration
@@ssoonngg Let me ask you, is the RTX 3090 not high end? People just paid almost $2000 for that during Covid 2 years ago. So? Get the Radeon 7900 GRE or the RTX 4070 Super voila same performance as the RTX 3090. You are the kind of person my IT department likes to say NO to. NO, you don't need an RTX 4090 to do your job.
@@GarrusVakarian-to2uh 4070 has 12GB of vram, whereas 3090 and 4090 have 24GB of vram. Even a medium sized volumetric simulation will not fit into 12GB. A rendering with huge amounts of geometric and volumetric data will also fail to fit into such GPU. This was literally THE selling point of Unified Memory, using Octane render of a spaceship as the showcase.
You have no idea what i need to do my job, nor the constraints involved. I am using this not to insult your knowledge/experience, but to show that a scenario like mine requires an approach that has nothing to do with your IT department perception of what is the bottleneck.
@@ssoonngg You are changing the subject, a $450-$550 video card is high end. Almost nobody needs more. An RTX 4090 doesn't help, my models need 200GB+ ram and the video ram is not the bottleneck, most of it is contained in system memory. You are also changing subject from performance (the GRE and 4070 Super have enough performance) to ram capacity. I was just pointing out that RTX 3090 performance is still high level in 2024. You can buy that for $450-$600 today.
Bro eats apples for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Apple pies, apple cider, apple chips, apple fritters, apple strudels, etc…
Cool that the improved and all, but after having invested in an M3 MBP a few months ago…. It is very frustrating….
M4 MacBook Pros aren’t going to come for another 5-6 months atleast
This will always be the case in tech. There will always be something better coming. The best advice I’ve heard is don’t buy unless you have to, and when you do have to buy, do so without regret.
Do not worry your machine is great. The fact is that Apple releases chips so fast that it always feels like you have to wait for the M10 chip LOL. Like when the m4 max will be announced you re going to see the m5 around the corner and so on...
That's why it's important to research as to what's going on in terms of development. I know most people can't do that or honestly don't care but keeping yourself updated allows you to know the best time to upgrade your devices.
@@briancole1887 you are right! Oh well I was still on Intel so it is an upgrade for me, won’t upgrade again until M6 or M7
Makes sense if they lauch m4 ultra and max first for the mac studio, at WWDC (and maybe an m4 extreme for the mac pro), as this are the most expensive products. And later, by the end of the year (october / november) release the rest of the mac lineup.
Most profit margin in the Mac Studio series and Mac mini series sells in better numbers. Neither as good as laptops but the desktops have been waiting longer for new versions.
I can imagine if Extreme will be two Ultra sticked together that they may launch those two in MacPro and maybe Ultra MacStudio at WWDC now. They need to give developers some HW to test AI features coming with new OSs.
@@user-dp8dr4wl8z I’m not sure how many software developers need the Mac Pro, but the Mac Studio is sure to be popular.
Well written and thoughtful video line and analysis. Looking forward to see that M4 iMac. It would be great.
I completely agree !
It makes more sense to first release a chip on desktop machines, then make it available on MacBooks later...
Agreed. I think the M4 Max/Ultra Mac Studio will be released in WWDC. As you mentioned, it doesn't make sense to buy the Mac Studio M2 Ultra with the performance of the M3 Max being so stellar. I want the Studio for my big workflow needs. But an M3 Max laptop would be super for portable needs.
I had a base Mac Studio M1 Max while my Intel i5 laptop was in the shop. It was super-impressive. It was literally 4x faster than my MacBook Pro and If I include the external monitor and accessories, about $1000 more money. Even my toughest creative test took single-digit minutes versus 1/2 an hour or longer. Loved that machine.
With the potential performance of the M4 Max, I may not have the need or feel the need to go Ultra. Sure enormous video projects would benefit with the added features of the Ultra. But we're talking movie length projects. How many of us do that.
The big question is....will they make 16 gb of ram standard for the M4?
16 gb is almost impossible. Probably 12 gb but most likely they'll keep 8 gb. At least for entry levels.
If they announce on-device AI features at WWDC, there is a slim chance they put 16 Gb on base models to be able to properly run models. This is our only hope.
I thought the 1TB and 2TB versions have 16GB, and the others have 8GB? I may be wrong...
So if I wanted to get the top tier Mac book pro I should hold off for the m4 max?
Thanks! Very insightful and informational
Using M4 chips in iPads Pro first was a clever marketing trick - Apple realized that from user’s perspective there is little reason to upgrade iPads with M chips. If you first upgrade your MacBook to M4, why would you want to upgrade a perfect iPad Pro with M2 on board? But, driven by curiosity, benchmarks and hype, if you upgrade your IPad Pro first, you will be happy to upgrade you MacBook as well.
Yes! I would give Apple props for some actually compelling reasons to upgrade to the new iPad Pro.
The crazy thing is that I was about to buy a MacBook Pro before all of this
Hope it’s worth the wait
This video was very useful for me. It’s good to know the “why” for future upgrades, and not just get a list of predictions.
It's a very legitimate educated predication. You did a wonderful job. Thank you.
I would like to see apple use frore's airjets to cool their products. I think that would enable a significant performance improvement without having to even redesign the cpu's.
M4 & M4 Pro MacMini, M4 Max and M4 Ultra Mac Studio, M4 Ultra and M4 Extreme Mac Pro will be announced at WWDC.
yeah, they are gonna piss all over ipad, and the ipad exclusivity lol.
WWDC will mainly talk about OS update and AI
M4 was never gonna be iPad exclusive lol, first to launch yes, never exclusive, makes no sense to a soc that is arguably one of the worlds best currently and have its use limited by iPad OS lmao @@tubeyou6794

M4 & m4 pro mac mini at wwdc. Mac studio and m4 max/ultra chips in the fall. It gives them something to talk about and graphs to use if they dont reveal the max and ultra variants next month
I'm still super happy that i switched from a mac intel i7 to a 16" m3 max that is on par if not faster than the M2 Ultra (especially for the 3d tasks). It's crazy tho how fast Apple is in releasing new chips. I'm curious tho, how much of a difference will there be between a m3 max and a m4 max since Apple compared the m4 to m2 and not m3.
A 50% leap in power from my present M1 device, that’s pretty significant. The worldwide issue that bogged everything down, has gone and so there’s just the other worldwide issues that are bogging everything down. Good insight, thanks.
I really hope you are right with the Mac line up at WWDC. They really need to refresh the Mac desktop line up since their all running on the M2. I can't imagine them waiting till next year before we see any desktop upgrades.
I totally agree. It makes perfect sense to do that. It goes back to when Steve was running the company. We saw good huge upgrades and max come out at WWDC. I just hope Tim Cook takes from Steve the just one more thing and releases the whole lineup as you say as that does as I said, make perfect senseand we need them. We can’t wait.
The TSMC roadmap you show has N3 in 2022. Designs take a long time and their design for that node started 3-4 years before then. When N3 was delayed to 2023 Apple had to still have a solution for their 2022 products. I believe they back-ported some of their design N3 design to N5P and included some upgraded M1 blocks to create the M2. This meant they had fewer transistors to work with and had to leave off the rumored ray tracing features from M2 and other planned enhancements. They then had an extra year to work the design that became the M3, but already had the M4 design team working in parallel, so may have put more focus on the M4. This theoryin summary has the original M1 being on N5 in 2020, the M3 design was to come out mid 2022 on N3B, and the M4 design was intended to be on N3E in 2023
Yes exactly! This makes sense as well!
This makes a lot of sense - Apple had to know about the delays well in advance, and also explains the quick moves from M1>M2>M3>M4 with only limited improvements. For M4 rollout, iPad Pro makes a lot of sense bc it is due for an update, plus the low volume will allow for yields to ramp on the new process node. Next, they will be under pressure to switch M3 to M4 in MacBooks and iMacs - in that order - for back-to-school and holiday seasons. It would be unfortunate for the current M2 desktops to languish for a while, but not the first time Apple has made parts of their own product line obsolete before replacing them.
Excellent business process information. The M3 chip is still excellent even if it wasn't a finished product. My wife has the M3 Air, and she loves it for basic web browsing and entertainment.
Yes, no doubt she is comforted by a chip that can process 18 bn instructions per second to support her rigorous email, web browsing, and TH-cam demands.
@pfh777 Well, her Imac of 10 years was getting too old and was long overdue for an upgrade.
Also, she needed a backup in case her work laptop (M1 Pro 14-inch) was taken away due to a possible layoff. Some of her coworkers did get laid off and made the horrible choice of treating their work laptop as a personal one. During the layoffs, their whole work computer was shut down. They lost tons of family photos, tax documents, and other personal information.
@@akin242002well that is a pretty bad choice ouch
M4 chips appear to be very efficient. This might result in extremely long battery life in M4 MacBook laptops. Or, Apple could make M4 laptops thinner, as they have done with the M4 iPad Pro. We might also see an 11 inch or 12 inch M4 MacBook Air.
It is odd, though, that Apple would make M4 devices orphans. They could sell M2 and M3 laptops as lower priced laptops at Walmart.
It makes more sense to release first the low volume high cost chips, and later the high volume low cost chips. This also gives time to get chip wafer yields up for high volume products. It also makes sense for Apple to minimize the design cost on a manufacturing node that can't be migrated to a new manufacturing process, but this is why for many years Intel did tick-tock chip upgrades to move an existing chip design to a new process, then a new design, then a new process, ...
We need Airpod max gen 2.
Moving to M4 makes a lot of sense. Fingers crossed an M4 Ultra Studio comes soon!
I just got a new 14” MacBook pro with the M3 Pro for work in January. Glad I didn’t purchase this machine, I would be bummed I purchased a machine with a placeholder chip.
However I am looking at getting the 13” M4 iPad Pro for my personal use and mix business use with it. I travel a lot for work and I don’t always want to break out my laptop for video viewing on a plane and 98% of my work could be done on an iPad.
Happy Mother’s Day everyone!
The only real reason Apple released the M4 on the new iPad Pro is to have an excuse to jack up the price since it’s literally the same IPad as the previous one just a “better” screen and a bunch of unnecessary bumps that are limited with IPad OS
I disagree, kinda lol. Games are getting more advanced now and AAA titles will be dropping all over. I like the fact that I can use power banks on the go with the iPad while with a laptop, I'm basically rooted to wherever I'm playing.
I want a Mac mini M4 Pro. I think it will be enought for my Unity / Blender Workflow.
why do we need all this power in the iPad? who is actually editing video on their iPad? yes, I know you can do it, but why? Using a MacBook Pro allows for much more options, i.e. which displays one can connect to it and so forth. It's nice to be able to edit on an iPad or iPhone, but the majority of people will use a regular computer with multiple displays. Now if Apple had a way to use the same OS as a MacBook on your iPad, kinda like Samsung does with DEX, then a powerful iPad would make more sense.
Great analysis.
I was on an 2020 Intel MBP and badly needed Apple silicon for AI, but heard rumors of the M4 being much better for neural processing, so bought a maxed-out M1 Max version to tide me over. No mention of beefed up neural processor yet, but just the CPU boost seems worth it.
Yeah I’ve got an M1 Max studio too, and in thinking I’m going with the M4. The multicore on an iPad is better than my desktop.
I think its time to upgrade
@@stevenrast4261 How crazy is it that an _iPad_ is outperforming desktops? 🤯
I’ll definitely go for a beefy M4 Max, but the M1 Max is just a gigantic step up from my Intel MBP and is letting me experiment with local AI now without waiting.
M4 Neural engine has the same core count as M3 but can do 38 trillion ops vs 18 trillion ops on the vanilla M4.
Me three! Grabbed a Studio with M1 Max bc couldn't wait to run local AI models. Looking forward to an M4 Max or Ultra with massively more multi-core. Now if only we could use GPU + Neural Engine to run open source...
If the M4 chip is this fast, I have very tall expectations for the A18 and A18 Pro. A17 Pro to A18 should be even the slightest increase in performance, and A18 Pro should be a significant increase over A17 Pro! (Apple, No A15 to A16 or even A16 to A17 Pro size of an increase please!)
You should see what the M7 chip they are working on now can do!!! TH-camr dream!
Absolutely! Mac Pro (M4 Ultra), Mac Studio (M4 Ultra and Max) will be released at WWDC. Possibly then, the Mac Mini may get the M4 and M4 Pro. This will release all M4 chips and Apple can wait till November or even spring of next year for M4 Extreme in Mac Pro. I don’t think they will release that this June. What an amazing even this WWDC is going to be, with all the software announcements!
Love my M1 Mac Studio but need more power and raytracing. Hopefully I can upgrade my Mac Studio with a M4 next month.
Will you be making a video going into the Geekbench details that show why it’s reporting so much higher and that we’re not likely to be seeing the kinds of gains the Geekbench benchmarks indicate?
Because he doesn’t even know what those details are. He’s probably saving the drama for another video once his two neurons fire. Worst part is the object detection relies on ANE and isn’t even CPU related. The m4 just knows how to offload to it. Not saying that Apple silicon isn’t awesome but it’s not a 20% single core gain.
What's sad is that the M4 MacBook Air will come in at least another 10 months I can't wait that long
I'm hoping. Chomping at the bit for a Mac Studio but don't want an M2.
Same 🤞
Well, join the waiting queue, lol.
Same here
Due you think for the existing M3 devices out there will they be limited in any way down the road? For example, may future features work with M4 and above?
that's exactly what I was thinking. It seems that Apple may have shafted people somewhat knowing this was their roadmap

Since the major revision in this chip was the NPU, if I were to guess, I’d say that on-device AI may be limited to M4 (and upcoming A18 for iPhone) and later. The GPU and CPU cores are general purpose and the media engines were finally revised, but kept support for the same codecs.
I don't think so. You think Apple would announce the m4 chip and wait half a year before shipping it in a Mac?! I hope this is not the case. 😩 They will announce new Macs at WWDC along with the AI infused Mac OS next month.

I wish it was, but also I’m actually eyeing a beautiful windows.2in1 laptop, tablet combination, so I will probably B leaving for windows. Maybe Apple will change something in the toy iPadOS but probably they will not so let’s see. I’m not going to buy the windows machine in the next couple of weeks for sure I will wait to see what Apple has prepared for the iPad. I am mentally ready to go to windows and actually I kind of want to go to windows as well. How much you lose performance when using the base spec choked M4 chip?
Did a mess up buying a m3 pro mac a few months ago?
If the lower end SOC is going to be yearly and the upper end on 18-month cycles, then it makes sense that the upper end will skip a cycle, be early the next cycle, and be late in the last before repeating the pattern.
One of the most informative videos I’ve ever seen on this topic. Also, I agree with you that the M4 Macs are coming next month, just not sure how many.
WWDC 24 is going to be the most important WWDC event for apple! Can’t wait!
As someone who bought the M1 MacBook Air, M1 iPad Air and iPad mini 6 because of the crazy performance jumps from the last generation, I basically switched away from windows for most of my computing. (11th generation I7 Samsung 16gb for what it’s worth). The mini 6 (A15) is perfectly capable for anything mobile and is my favorite.
I have not been impressed enough with the M2 or M3 to consider upgrading, especially the iPad Air which is too heavy, more so with the magic keyboard . I would be very interested in the M4 Mac-mini desktop though. That would make a great work station. I still don’t see the need to upgrade the laptop. But I like seeing the upgrade path. And progress needs to be made. But I’ve also had enough of this soldered Ram/SSD crap, and the lack of repairability in general. I do tend to hold onto my equipment longer than most. Especially if it still performs well enough.
TLDR;
Hope the M4 is as good as it sounds. I would love to see the iPad mini 7 get a powerhouse chip if it doesn’t destroy the all day battery.
But the only upgrade I would buy today is the Mac Mini (with the new M4 chip)
Can you do video speculating GPU counts in M4 Pro, Max, and ultra? Also performance, can it finally match 3080?

I will wait for the M4 Macbooks Lineup ( pro or max ) to upgrade my 2020 Core i9 imac 27''. I just buyed the imac and they launched those M1.
But the core i9 is running fast until today whitout issues. Now I think is time to a real upgrade that worth de money. Those N3E are beats.
This is crazy! How much faster can these things get?
What about GPU? Is it improved over M2or M3?
So much more animated than Tim Cook 😆

No it’s because most of the points comes from object detection in geekbench and skews the average. This is because m4 offloads to ane. A feat for sure but most real world performance won’t use object detection. So to say chip is overall 20% faster is false. 7 to 10% and that’s mainly due to 10% clock speed boost
well if it doesn't work like it was expected to they shouldn't have shipped it and screwed all the buyers of that product. so many people are disappointed now me being one of them, you get a brand new expensive laptop right when it comes out just to find out its just a placeholder and they really didn't try that hard on that model??? are you kidding me? these things are too expensive to just ship out half baked products, and at the time of release you don't know that's what it is. and typically you want yo be an early adopter for the product so its relevant as long as possible. there's no excuse im over apple. totally unacceptable
What is the implication of the new 3nm node on iPhone 16 this year?
M4 chip seems to be the upgrade to get, apple will probably cut off m3 software support earlier than normal.
They're the same architecture, why would they possibly do that 🤣
@@stuartaparker😂 there some idiots on here
@@MrCheeseman1982 Unfortunately some of the have channels too 🤣
@@stuartaparker 🤣👍🏻
I'd say for WWDC from more certain to less in this order: Studio, Pro, Mini, but hopefully all.
I think what will get me to upgrade from my M1 Max MacBook Pro is if they added SDUC support, or maybe the dual SD & CFexpress card slot on the A7sIII. Otherwise this thing has been everything I’ve need in a laptop.
Looking forward to WWDC and M4 Max based Mac Studio.
M3 and M4 are likely using the same p-cores so it not out of the question that M3 Max could still end up in the Mac Studio in June 2024 but clocked at a higher frequency due to the superior cooling of the Studio. N3E production is still ramping so this would be more of a strategy based on available manufacturing capacity. Then M4 comes to the Studio one year later.
It doesn't make any sense for apple to delay all the macs, especially the base M4 chip macs until fall.So I think we have a big chance to see the M4 14inch-Macbook Pro and M4 Macmini next month.
Yeah, I was considering getting a new MacBook, but I think i am going to wait for the m4
I can’t wait for the bendgate tests, are you doing them
Best detailed explanation. Period. 😎
What’s the background music in the opening?
Was going to buy a new Mac Studio when it was supposed to come out June 10th…. Now, it looks like I’ll need to wait longer to get an M4 Mac Studio or Mac Pro. I just want to connect these two Pro Display XDRs to something
I think tiering like this makes better sense to differentiate product lines, maximise chip life & return on investment:
- Mac Mini M3, M3 Pro, M4 (ie back to it being the cheap way into Mac OS)
- AppleTV M3 to bring Apple gaming to the masses (think console).
- MacBook Air M4
- MacBook Pros M4 to M4 Max.
- iMac M4, M4 Pro.
- Apple Studio M4 Pro & Max (no Ultra as it cannibalises Mac Pro)
- Mac Pro with single and multiple(?) M4 Ultras (like having a small server farm inside a desktop).
Sounds great
I feel like they’d have to also do the M4 MBP if they do the studio lineup
The explanation makes sense
I completely agree with your assessment. I could not make sense of Gurman’s take on Studio for 2025.
I love the Mac mini, so I would love an M4 version at WWDC '24. Unf Apple only occasionally updates the 'mini' products so I would not expect it. Plus - have to get M3 off the 3B node, but M2 will continue for iPad Air, etc. Even easier for them to let Mac mini languish with M2 / M2 Pro.
Waiting for either an M4 iMac or Mini Pro.
So now what does this mean for the A18 chip? I want an explanation on that next now that this has been revealed.
They’re gonna be very powerful. Around 3500-3600 single core.
M4 Ultra Mac Studio will be very interesting.
Also the M4 Max too as I suspect it will be very powerful for a lot less money.
@@77dris Yeah. I would personally buy the M4 Max model if I were to get one. I'm very interested in what the graphics performance will be on the Max.
In June, m4 Mac mini only. In fall, MacBook m4, pro, max, ultra, extreme all together!
Wow, so much interesting information! Makes me wonder if I should get the iPad Pro M4 instead of a MacBook Air M3.. hmmmm🤔
If it’s for Work get the Air.
If it’s for Play get the iPad.
When is macmini m4 coming out ?
i'm saying, the time to replace my 2020 intel macbook is coming next year
Last time I had a iPad it was the mini. And I loved it till I sold it. Been a few years without a tablet.
Regardless of the review , im excited.
The iPad refresh cycle is so slow makes sense to put the latest chip in it
Nothing ever fast enough, M5 will be stunning, the M6 mind-blowing and the M7 just out the world. Faster, faster and faster to what end Ai replacing us all?
Perhaps Apple struck a deal with TSMC to buy the N3D chips so TSMC doesn’t make a loss, but with an agreement where Apple is the first to receive the N3E chips?
it would be so great to see brand new iMac (pro?) 27/32 with some kind of M4 chip in it on WWDC
The iPad with the 9 cores seems to be a lot slower, according to Geekbench it is around 13060 for the multicore.
that's still an improvement over the base m3 and it can do it with only 3 cores
The iPad M4 Operating System is a tiny thing, that does not resemble its PC OS's. Its Apps are toys that cannot be scaled up to Pro Apps.
