Processing & Preparing for Double Mastectomy

Planning to take 4 weeks off from work is stressful! Planning for a major surgery, like a double mastectomy, is scary and stressful! How did you mentally, physically, and emotionally prepare for your double mastectomy surgery and recovery? I admittedly could have done better at preparing, but you can't be too hard on yourself when dealing with such a stressful situation.
