It's time for an epic Audi Quattro drag race! We have an Audi TT RS-R going up against R8! On the face of it, you might think it'll be an easy walkover for the R8. But not this time! The TT RS-R has been tuned by both ABT & MRC so it'll put down an incredible 610hp - the same as the R8 V10 Plus! What's more, the TT RS-R will put down more torque - 780Nm compared to 560Nm!
So will the naturally-aspirated 5.2-litre V10 pull through for the R8 in these treacherous conditions? Or will the lighter TT RS-R pull through? There's only one way to find out... LET'S RACE!!

chopitheking Mags are the wheels. The metal part of the wheel I.e. not the tyre. They are colloquially known as mags because they used to be made of magnesium however magnesium is very flammable so eventually people started making them from aluminium but people still call them mags. Mags = Wheels.

The TTRS Tuned is amazing.. I raced one just like this in my hellcat Redeye.. from a Roll 50-120 the Redeye had the TTRS about a car length.. at 120 the TTRS went past me! Really fast sleeper cars those tuned 5 cylinder.. the exhaust note is pretty wild too on the Audi TTRS tuned
Those 5 cylinder are really powerful from inside. They just need a good tuner to unleash that power. It's a big proud for Germany. Btw respect for your SRT👌🏼

tbf the type r is about 500lb lighter than the RS3, but people don't get the RS3 to track, they get it for the engine sound and straight line performance. Type-R does 0-60 in 5.4s, RS3 does 0-60 in 3.5s.
(Taking launch control out of it the RS3 does 5-60 in 4.3s, Civic Type R does 5-60 in 5.8s).

I'm so over stanced cars. Not that I was ever into them but still. It is more the thing I associate with an 18 year old with a tarted up Corsa and a 12 year old girlfriend. If it had had standard suspension it may well have won the drag race.

There’s many 5cyl engines, and there have been many 5cyl engines produced.. Toyota still make them, Honda used them for years and had one in their Vigor, they even used it in MotoGP, VAG used a V5 format in a range of models few years back as well as diesel versions, Mercedes made diesels for almost 50 years in that configuration... these are just a few.
5cyl will always have the smoothest running, at 144°, no balance shafts like V6s (dependent)....
@@Incountry And I think Ford also still has a 5pot engine. At least it was used in one of their RS or ST models not that long ago (maybe Focus, can't remember).

I do believe they’re running 5cyl Diesel in the European Spec Transits and Ranger series which is offered... rumored supposed once a Volvo 5cyl, but it’s PSA designed..

It’s a tough little beast and with mild tuning to 300hp, which won’t affect reliability it’ll last very well.. I think that’s one of FORDs best decisions for a powerplant in their range of vehicles...

I think he added value because he wasn’t factoring depreciation, he was adding up the money it took to put those mods on, unlike the R8.

The TTs using a generous dyno. Or the R8 a stingy one. You could see the R8 was slightly quicker if you take the dig out of it.
There can everybody see, that NA engines perform better than turbo engines, and also that torque is not important in fast cars. 200kilos is heavy difference tho
He said its MRC tuned.... Their Dyno is famously generous.
It is also on the wet track. For the car with the greater torque is a bad thing because it has no traction to "apply" the torque. On the other hand NA engines are "spreading" the torque over the entire rev range and not only on "overboost" range
I was about to come and say there's no way that ttrs is making 610hp with 780nm. That ttrs should by all means destroy the r8. Same power, way more torque, and 200kg less. Abt is definitely lying about their figures. (The r8 is verified to be around 610 by multiple dynos, so that figure is accurate)
