On really excessive speeds where downforce is a thing, you are right, because the friction of the tires increases as there is more force pushing them against the ground and the friction of tires start to get bigger in comparison to the brakes. But in the test carwow does, it doesnt really matter because they are too slow.

I have a 525d and upgraded from 289mmx25mm to the 350mm M5 brakes ;) My ABS went off the same way it went off with the smaller brakes, because my tires (Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3) were the limiting factor. But now I can afford to brake 3 times from 200kmph without overheating them.
@@siphoernest2278 You should check it! The M2 Competition and the standard M3/M4 have the S55B30 engine with biturbo. Just the hp are different. M2 Comp has 410 hp, standard M3/M4 have 431 hp, M2/M3/M4 CS have 450 hp.

German cars are fine if you have money. I’ve got a golf r dsg. It’s been stood with COVID 19 now has two faults: engine warning light and the engine radiator fan always on. Meanwhile my 2004 landcruiser and 2006 type r haven’t got a single problem. Not sure German cars are all that, just pretty and slick
@@Ersy90 Considering the engine is tuned, its a high chance the owner is a petrolhead, so is very posible he got retrofitted the virtual cockpit from early models, its a very common thing on those s3/rs3, gti/r and fr/cupra.
I am buying one, on waiting list for AMG, the same color, same package, the best car you can buy in this segment... I care about 0-100 kmh facts, the best result is her's, the best interior, 2.0 lt engine, low on taxes here (Turkey). I am very happy.

@S Malmoe I daily one...Ive run 4 different exhaust setups in the past year. I’m familiar with the sound. While it sounds fine in a video, in person it sounds way too raspy, regardless of resonator/muffler setup. It’s because of the stock turbo.

At 750 NM in the tuned RS3 (vs 500 Nm in the A45s), I expected the RS3 to smoke it. But nope, couldn't quite shake off the 45s in any category... 🤷🏾♀️
Its an older car, tech difference would play a big part. If it wanted to be more of a accurate test they would have had a 2018/19 RS3. Example being the "drift" mode in the A45 - electronic control by the car and you'll never use it. Launch and traction control will have improved as well. But we could probably go back and forth in an argument all day long 🤣
Yes it makes 750nm at probably 3-4k rpm when the turbo kicks in then dies down to a similar level to the a45s in the higher rev range where the engine operates when your max throttle. It’s not about the peak number but how flat the torque curve is over the Rev range.
From a price to package, performance ratio, the AMG45 S is without doubt a clear winner, what a fantastic job AMG! Just add a tune. The M2 CS is genuinely fast & terribly fun, but the price tag is too heavy!
With a catastrophic flaw of the crank hub that smashes your valves on $80K car. Don't think so. S58 engined cars stand a chance to be, if they come without such idiotic flaws.

A45s is such a beautiful car. Im an Audi fan with a stage 2 2017 A3. That RS3 is an absolute beast. Just intake,intercooler and tune made 100hp more than stock.
I own an A45s and what people who say it sounds bad don't seen to know is that when revving it at a standstill it closes the exhaust valves,this is EU regulations for you,and nothing a exhaust wouldn't fix. Check out my uploads and sure most will have a different option of the car once it is seen in more detail. The tech in the Merc is second to none,and for the 99% of the time that you are not racing on a drag strip then i will guarantee you it is the better car to be sat in. In my real world testing nothing has come close to it yet on average UK roads,and plenty have tried their luck,such as Ford RS's,Audi RS's,Golf R's,even other AMG's. I will soon be putting the A45s up againt my Mitsubishi Evo,should be a good test,so keep am eye out 🙂
In this video you can clearly see that it is nowhere near the M2 (and i don't need to watch a tracktest to know that you would have more fun with the bmw and its rwd); and could barely keep up with and older gen of the RS3, that cost almost half. So; yeah, maybe you are wrong. Yes, i know it's not all about straight lines; but when you compare this 3 brands, the difference in quality in general aspects is almost identical.

I had the choice between a cs and a comp. the cs (no discount) was double the price of the discounted brand new comp. With no doubts I took the comp put some carbon where I wanted it, tuned lately to 470 hp and 640 nm torque and with 3,9 0/100 km/h and >300 km/h of max speed for few hundreds euros, I’m quite happy of my choice
Hate the RS3 stuck on plate only works on evos , yes most modern cars look good with no plate and its probably for cooling but its not a look i like, reminds me of tuning stickers down the door under the wingmirror! Or chrome number plate surrounds

@Stefan The 2 Gran Coupe is still a 2 series. And yes The Coupe is still to be released but my emphasis is towards the competition. Merc came out with the new A45s while BMW is still rolling with the F87. So I don't think BMW needs a completely new M2 (G87) just yet.

Don't look at peak torque numbers....RS3 probably makes that 750 NM between 3k and 4k RPM and then the torque drops dramaticlly.
Yes it makes 750nm at probably 3-4k rpm when the turbo kicks in then dies down to a similar level to the a45s in the higher rev range where the engine operates when your max throttle. It’s not about the peak number but how flat the torque curve is over the Rev range.

From a price to package, performance ratio, the AMG45 S is without doubt a clear winner, what a fantastic job AMG! Just add a tune. The M2 CS is genuinely fast & terribly fun, but the price tag is too heavy!
That M2 is a future classic .. looks and sounds the part definitely 👌🏻
With a catastrophic flaw of the crank hub that smashes your valves on $80K car. Don't think so. S58 engined cars stand a chance to be, if they come without such idiotic flaws.

@@thehelperofthepeopledems2525 No they haven't. The crank hub is still not keyed or integrated with the crank like on B58 and S58. Their little "friction ring" improvements have done absolutely nothing to fix it and people are still blowing engines.

Don't get me wrong, I love the C63S but it's not in the same league as the M2CS on track.
A45s is such a beautiful car. Im an Audi fan with a stage 2 2017 A3. That RS3 is an absolute beast. Just intake,intercooler and tune made 100hp more than stock.
Thats a stage 2 so its not unheard of in the rs3!

I own an A45s and what people who say it sounds bad don't seen to know is that when revving it at a standstill it closes the exhaust valves,this is EU regulations for you,and nothing a exhaust wouldn't fix.
Check out my uploads and sure most will have a different option of the car once it is seen in more detail.
The tech in the Merc is second to none,and for the 99% of the time that you are not racing on a drag strip then i will guarantee you it is the better car to be sat in.
In my real world testing nothing has come close to it yet on average UK roads,and plenty have tried their luck,such as Ford RS's,Audi RS's,Golf R's,even other AMG's.
I will soon be putting the A45s up againt my Mitsubishi Evo,should be a good test,so keep am eye out 🙂
In this video you can clearly see that it is nowhere near the M2 (and i don't need to watch a tracktest to know that you would have more fun with the bmw and its rwd); and could barely keep up with and older gen of the RS3, that cost almost half. So; yeah, maybe you are wrong.
Yes, i know it's not all about straight lines; but when you compare this 3 brands, the difference in quality in general aspects is almost identical.

Quality wise,again I am talking from experience and test drove all manor of cars before putting down my cash,the others are prehistoric when it comes to the interiors.
I do rate the A45s, but a 4 pot 2 litre will never sound as good as a 5 or 6 cylinder, no matter what the exhaust is set to!
Lovely car though, the interior is next level.
As a drivers tool I'd lean towards the BMW personally.

Seems all cars from VW group have a rev limiter. My cupra from 2016 is also limited to something like 4000 rpm/4500rpm in neutral

No way it makes 750nm with a 2.5l and so few tuned parts, there is a error in numbers ? Probably 570nm make more sense ?
@@MyArcheon Why not? Our stage 1 takes that particular model to 620nm.. The later model pumps it up to 640nm.. 750 on a stage 2 with all those supporting mods is plausible. My 2.6lt GTR made over 800nm..

I had the choice between a cs and a comp. the cs (no discount) was double the price of the discounted brand new comp.
With no doubts I took the comp put some carbon where I wanted it, tuned lately to 470 hp and 640 nm torque and with 3,9 0/100 km/h and >300 km/h of max speed for few hundreds euros, I’m quite happy of my choice

@Stefan The 2 Gran Coupe is still a 2 series. And yes The Coupe is still to be released but my emphasis is towards the competition. Merc came out with the new A45s while BMW is still rolling with the F87. So I don't think BMW needs a completely new M2 (G87) just yet.
You should do a drag race using a tuned td5 land rover defender, could be quite interesting to see how fast they can be.
A 718 4.0 GTS would've been a great competitor for this race.
