    Jonah's accident was horrendous and it brought about a lot of changes but the shining light throughout it all was to see how Josiah blossomed and the pride he felt that he was making his Papa happy, we could clearly see his confidence grew every single day but when Jonah felt able to get back to what he loves doing - working on the farm - Josiah started to return to the sidelines, thankfully the heavy machinery started to arrive and Josiah once again felt he could make his Papa proud by learning to use the machinery so well, that he literally came into his own. Congratulations Josiah for doing such a fantastic job on the new pasture and I am sure you will find many new projects you can tackle with the big machinery you are able to operate so well x

    Seeing Gideon being such a helpful and loving big brother after watching him grow up from 1 y/o himself on your channel is so heartwarming. Justin and Rebeckah, you have raised 5 wonderful kids. All of them are so hardworking and smart. You have really set the standard for what I want for my family and my children. Please keep it up, we love all 7 of you!

    Someday, all the children will look back and be so grateful you worked them the way you are. I can see so much clearer now; how my dad and mom were always looking out for our best interest then, and later on in my years also. Little rewards along the way sure does help with motivation. Great children you and Rebecca have there! I know you both are proud.😀

    Good to see a fellow Kenyan in the land!

  • @adolthitler
    @adolthitler ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Your Kenyan friend was asking about the phenomenon of grassland being hotter than forest. In future try leaving lines of trees running north south with enough space between the lines that the morning shade from one line only just overlaps with the afternoon shade. It allows all the ground to have shade at one part of the day, it also allows the livestock shade throughout the day.

      @@teresamariner4238 It is certainly not as easy as they make it look either. Like rubbing your head while patting your belly while you tap dance, remembering which hand to pull or push or which foot to use at the same time to do a simple movement is crazy and requires total concentration. We rented one before we got the Kubota tractor with the backhoe so my hubs could clear some of our overgrown forest and the back side of our pond dam. He is retired from the NCDOT and was a heavy equipment operator and he laughed so hard at me digging a simple hole! 😂😂🤣🤣

    Jason why not build a small wooded sled to put under the Pigs food station it would make easier moves for said food station easier and make things easier for yourself, this sled would keep station from being knocked over wasting food and the added benefit of having a basic flat area for food and a similar sled could be made for the water barrel (station) moved with sidekick, skid steer, or tractor. Hope this tip from a 66 year old man who grew up on a farm in the 1960's we used a sled to bring water from the creek up a hill to our barn location. Our water barrel was 50 gallons and we used a horse to pull this water sled twice a day to water our animals.

    Also while I’m thinking about it. Look up a Harley power rake. Rental from sunbelt or the like for a day. Attaches to your skid steer and allows you to smooth out the topsoil and level the rough ground from the heavy machinery.

    Get a landscape rake for your tractor it attaches to the 3 point hitch in the back and has stronge 2 inch wide fingers that are made from spring steel. It works great at cleaning up all those small logs and sticks so you can grade the land easily!

    If I'm remembering correctly from my developmental biology classes, before a certain age (I wanna say it's like 12-13), kids don't understand long term consequences. So trying to get them to help for the sake of their kids and their grandkids will not work (as you saw). Their brains just aren't developed enough to plan that far into the future yet.

    Rebeckah you look so amazing! I look at you and say 5 amazing kids? No way!!!! You look so young and beautiful. You're an amazing mom and Justin is a great father. My dad was like him, we lived on a large farm a little over 100 acres. Our parents taught us that family was most important. Helping do the chores like y'alls kids. Lol we weren't paid but that didn't matter we were taught to help our family, neighbors and friends. It's so sweet to see Gideon and little Henry together. He's become so mature helping with him. Henry is adorable to hear him talking and already helping. Lily is a beautiful girl and so helpful. Josiah is such a good young man and has really shown how much he has grown up! I'm praying for Jonah, that his hip will loosen and his leg will be as long as the other leg. All the kids are great! I enjoy your videos so much and look forward to new ones!!!!!

    Nice that you get the new pasture seeded and covered before the rain! I like that seed broadcaster! That is a lot of hay to move. I'm glad you got a stanchion in the cow area because Flossy has been less cooperative. That is a lot of seed and hay to lay down! I’m so amazed how your family just do things without being told or shown by you the older brother let’s them help even the youngest gets stuck in clearing rubbish my only though was cardboard could be recycled in the bottom of grow beds
