I can testify that those on the other side are aware and gravely interested in the sealing of their family. Once I went to the temple to have my grandparents & their children sealed to them. As I entered the sealing office I began to cry. I couldn't stop crying through the entire sealing. When I returned home, something turned my head to look at a small figurine we have had for many years. It is a figurine of a father and mother holding up and looking at their baby. I then collapsed at the end of my bed and cried intensely for about 20 minutes. Years later my daughter discovered that we had missed a twin baby who had died. It was a joyous day when we were able to return and complete the sealing. Their feelings of love for their children are intense and real!
My mother grew up across the street from the Cardston temple and was baptized in it when she was eight because that was the only font then available. When I was young, the Cardston temple was the only one in western Canada and the NW U.S. Large groups were still coming from the NW states to attend the temple.
That’s an amazing story. But I guess I don’t understand how a mother could forget to record the name of one of her dead children. (I feel something is missing from this account.)
We don't know why the mother forgot her daughter. But having experienced loss myself and the pain that never leaves you the Lord in mercy will from time to time take the pain and sometimes the memory of why the pain exists maybe required for a time. Also the Lord takes such moments like this to bless others verses just the immediate family. It's extremely clear to everyone that hears this true story that had the mother not forgotten the daughter the sealing and impact of the truthfullness and importance of temple work may not have been taught as perfectly as it is through this experience. The Lord blessed a family and you and I and others tomorrow that may learn of this experience. In the end no one will be forgotten and if needed miracles will make this a truth.

I too can testify of a beautiful sealing of an entire family. I felt their love and joy.

Maybe her advanced age played a part in her memory lapse?
