Here's a funny thing... I took the entire speaker-pod off my rear door years ago. After watching this, I decided to dig it out with a view to bunging it on ebay in case anybody else wants to do the same job. Alas, after having a bit of a prod at the speakers, the foam attaching the cones to the frames crumbled into dust, just like Derek's. I guess Harmon Kardon didn't design their fabled Land Rover stereo system with longevity in mind. :-/ You'd think that a high-end stereo manufacturer would, after being commisioned to provide a stereo for LR, consider that the speakers they planned to fit into the rear door of a 4x4 might need to be capable of enduring a harsh environment.
Yes, a premium manufacturer should have better quality stuff. Then again, I don't know how much harsh treatment those speakers have had to endure during their life. Anyway, all good now!
Evening Derek... This could EASILY av ended in tears for u my friend. 😢😢😢😢😢😢 Disobedience at home with Freda, I would suggest could av ended badly for u 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Painting???? Um, LR fiddling sounds so much better..... After all, we all need a little music whilst driving ☺️☺️☺️☺️ Great video as always. Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay warm. Alan L200
have you tried adjusting the speaker bias on the stereo? it might bring it in at a lower volume, also if have got screws missing you may well get a vibration from the mesh at certain frequencie's. enjoying the vids :)

Thanks Alan! Need a lot of music when driving. Not sure how much difference not having Harmon/Kardon speakers though. It sounds okay to me!

Cheers Anthony! Yes, did the speaker bias thing. Happy to report full bass during Springsteen's Born in the USA!
It's important to keep the stereo in good working order because it hides all the other rattles and squeaks. >_
Probably why the old one's were blown out!
For once derek a straight forward job👍👍
Yes, went well for a change!!
