Trinny…the unsponsored beacon of joyous colour and print in a TH-cam soup of ‘influencers’ who bang on about wearing neutrals…which I am now suspecting they are told to wear by their management agencies, so they can push the latest jewellery sponsorship they have without the danger of a colour or print in their outfit to detract. Very sad to see so many young people promoting dull and drab clothing. That’s why I have always loved Trinny’s genuine immaculate taste and style.
You are so right about this…neutrals are fine but very minimalistic (which is odd given that they all seem to want to stand out…which seems to be more about blending in). I volunteer with an organization that offers women in need wardrobe consulting/free clothing who often say they only want black/gray’s no pattern/color. I usually try to introduce them to some color & pattern and have seen their face light up when they see how great they actually look in it. Some of them after saying only neutral have chosen all kinds of color and pattern…I think it really is about confidence because as you say …color and pattern is joyous!
Trinny is one of my favourites along with Carla Rockmore. They are both more mature women with collections of clothing that are amazing. They inspire and encourage me to be bolder with my clothing ensembles!!
It all came from the minimalism trend. Wearing neutrals is just much more cost effective. And for someone who just doesn't care about trends and is always on-the-go, this might be the best style. Investing in colors might just create a Diderot effect that you would not want to have if you are on a budget or have a small closet. It's fun, though.
@@cavelleardielPopping in a year later to say that both Trinny and Carla are perfect examples of why you shouldn't ever throw out clothes you love. It also helps that they're both naturally incredibly slim, so they're still the same or a similar size as they were in their 20s.
It's always such fun, sharing time with you and your wardrobe, Trinny. When I watch your closet confessions, I feel like a girl in a "virtual" sweet shop! You have SUCH talent. XX
I started applauding when you added the turquoise necklaces to the gold top and green patterned bottoms. I was all ready for a standing ovation after the first item of the video. "Bravvvaaaa" Trinny. "Bravvvvvaaaa".
Omg Trinny! Looovvveee the waistcoat with the fab pink blouse! Took that suit above & beyond! I tried this idea with a printed cropped jacket/dressy short & a neon blouse a month ago and people were stopping me on the street….your ideas & inspiration have helped me so much! Really liked the long green skirt with the pop of orange belt & the lacy white earrings to echo the print in the blouse/white Clergerie shoes. I know it wasn’t your fave but for some reason I loved the contrast!
I love so much how you speak from your heart. This is a passion for you and it is clear. You aren't like others, you are you and that is fantastic! You seriously are beautiful in all the things. I just really like how you give examples and explain your thoughts. Wonderful videos!
Thank you Trinny! Wonderful play with print! One of the saddest things I experienced when I worked in fashion retail was some of my customers thinking they “couldn’t” or “shouldn’t” wear print. Either because people at home were putting them down or they felt very low self esteem. Sometimes it was just lack of knowledge or confidence. Fear of pattern is a real thing and I really encouraged the ladies to treat this as a fun and empowering thing.
I LOVE this! You have helped me so much over the past six months! I used to be very confident in my dress style but over the last 3 years with being more isolated and turning 65, I’ve lost it somewhat and I’m re educating myself. I know it’s a stretch, but how about a “shop your closet” episode with someone (me)? I’m 5’11”, 130 pounds, Georgia, USA. It would be so fun!
I have been binge watching since yesterday when I found Trinny Takeovers and now I’m into the Closet Confessions series. Oh my, I am so impressed with the looks and the way a slight tweak can totally change a look or make it work when it didn’t at first. I have never been into fashion and have had so many failures when I tried to step out of my comfort zone. Those tops or dresses that hung in the closet for years because I spent more than I normally would or I so loved the piece even when it did nothing for me. I just want to learn how to looked polished for once in my life….dressing in a way that enhances my figure (which is post menopausal overweight but on the path to getting slimmer and healthier). I’m 68 yrs old and feel like this is a new and exciting goal for me. Thanks for all you share on TH-cam. I have an order for Trinny London makeup and skincare in the cart…just need to pull the trigger.
Trinny you are an absolute ball of fun and a magician when it comes to pulling a wardrobe together,. I believe I mentioned this earlier on , months ago. watching you play with clothes makes me remember how much fun dressing up is. Trinny you are fabulous! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Trinny. All your videos are such innocuous, pleasurable escapism from all the scary things going on in the world. You are a breath of fresh air.
Trinny, Thank you for sharing your energy and most importantly, your genius with fashion. Your videos have so much dimension. From patterns, to color and body shapes and of course your masterful use of accessories. You are a true teacher and entertainer.
Love the colourful skirt. It fits perfectly and is not too pouffy which makes it work with the tops maybe? Print mixing really works. I love your tops they are so pretty and unusual.
Always love when you so print on print. The sandwich colour ideas is fantastic. I want to buy this pants but cannot find the top colour to go with it. Might need to look for the print top instead ☺️
Another terrific tutorial. All these ideas help us make the most of our wardrobe. My favourite outfit: silk satin skirt with orange top and yellow wedges. I never wear long necklaces and they are amazing!! This will be my next shopping. Thanks a lot!!!
Thank you, Trinny! I love all the tops, bottoms and shoes you have shown in this video. They're all my style & the prints fit perfectly. I also love how you have taught us how to do this. Looking at you, one would have thought that you just always know what items woek together. Rookies like me stand by the mirror and hold the items up. Thank you for validating my method for doing this. Really good video, thank you once again.
Hey Trinny! can you do an episode for online shopping tips? For those of us who live in a more rural community and don't have a lot of access to stores, online is where we often go to shop. But it can be hard to figure out how things hang, quality, color, sizes, etc.
Trinny the 1st look and green ensemble near the end of the vid both Absolutely *Gorgeous* colours, and reminds me of how my dear mum would put things together (back in the day) ❤
I really love that outfit Trinny and the colour-way. I find this look very chic with a hint of the 70's brought up to date. I was only just looking at some print trousers today, might be nipping back to purchase them now 😊💕
Just watched Milly. Thank you fir telling that wonderful story. Shows that Johnny had great taste! Looking through old closet confessions you mentioned how you brush and polish your purses. Could we see a demo of that?
Have you ever had your colour analysis done?? I wondered because your in the fashion industry. It’s something I’m super interested in and I think you’re a spring :))))))
i would like a everyday going to the farmers market or grocery store outfit options. And more shows with jeans as the base. thanks. you are an inspiration
This was so informative-thank you Trinny and team! I got such a surprise when I saw you and Lyla were in Aspen-I watched your packing episode and thought yo'd said you were going to Spain🤣 I'd love to see a closet confessions inspired by India please
I just discovered your channel and binging it on a rainy Sunday. Love the dress-up games! 🤣 Can we see some inspirational looks on how to wear different skirts and jeans?
You are such a sweet team 😍Absolutely fantastic how you put these pieces together! I never thought that the blue and yellow coloured top with the collar would work with the printed skirt. Stunning! Oh, and I loved the Maxi skirt with that muted green blouse, so pretty. 🌸One of the best episodes I've watched from you, so far! 🌠
I adore you in all your beautiful dresses and that silver skirt you wear. Not mad keen on print on print, highlighter colors and mannish style looks. I loved all your looks in the early 00s when you wore fabulous scarves with neutrals during the day. I think you are the absolute best for event dressing inspiration.
Trinny, care to do a wedding theme? Can you wear black? Can you wear white if it’s just a jacket or just pants? I love a pant suit with cropped trousers but is it formal enough? How do you style a slip dress? Is a red lip too intense in summer months? I’ve learned a lot from you😘You we’re a godsend during Covid lockdown🙏🏻😇
In another life something more joyous. I always found prints 1 wearing and done. My wardrobe is black, cobalt, denim and white, with some seafoam. Few prints other than scarves.
Ηaha! I was literally screaming "the yellow Chanel"!!! I loved the first and last outfit especially and I although I have the same green printed shirt with shoulder pads from zara, I keep wishing it was silk and not polyester.
Fab. U. Lous Darling 😄👌🏻. And a huge yes to a scarves and sarongs video👍🏻 I have a collection, that comes out every summer and I’m always looking for new ways to wear them☺️
My gosh.. your accessories are amazing. It’s incredible how accessories can really complete or change any outfit. Love your closet. Lucky you ❤️❤️❤️ Btw.. you have an amazing figure and everything looks beautiful on you
Sleeves, please, I’d like to see a how to where and who should wear what different type sleeves. Which are modern, which are old fashioned, which for what body shape, proportions, etc.

I always struggle and also not sure how to edit, sometime I'm so glued to one outfit when I get there I feel horrible in it and looks so different thatn at home. Please help!!!!!
I wear a lot of jeans in winter (confession, almost every day). How could I combine them diferently instead of with a sweater. To create a more female or dressed op look? Maybe do an episode about that? thanks.
Trinny I have lots of pattern floral dresses how can you improve and make the overall look pop with adding pieces? Like you did with the print episode. So inspirational thank you!!! ❤️💞❤️
First want to say THANK YOU TRINNY for inspiring me to wear my first statement earings! Never dared before and now love it. You are the real influencer))) Watched the video above with great curiosity. Most of the print and the colour combinations are controversial to my taste but that makes it even more facinating. Thank you.
Trinny & team~ can we please have a belt placement/tips for creating a waist - based on short waisted and long or normal waist body types? I think I’m an “inverted triangle” body type with large bust, broad shoulders but slim everything else and short waist, long legs. I know the “body type” labels can get confusing but guidance based on waist would so help figure out creating the right waist & silhouette. Thanks 😘🫶💕
I would like to know some pointers on getting dressed in the morning. It takes me about 3 attempts to pull something together and sometimes I give up and put on a really boring outfit. Do you start with the weather and then think about what color you are feeling and go from there? Do you plan everything ahead of time?
Very interesting, can you please give me your point of view about scarves wich are looking élégant. I wear scarves and need your advice. Thanks a lot 🌹
Love for you to do palette dressing, and maybe putting together a capsule outfit for different style types (I.e. boho, classic, work-from-home lifestyle)
I enjoy that you wear and shop ur own clothes and stuff and not pushing sponsored one . I love Colors !!!!!
It’s as if you’re shopping in your own little department store every time you do a try on. Brilliant!

One of your BEST yet!
This green skirt looks awesome! Great video, thanks!
The most interesting CC in a long long while for me. The creativity & nod to vintage w/print on print makes is individualized and personal.
