  • If you’ve had a stroke a few weeks or months ago and are finding it difficult to move your arm and hand due to tightness, rigidity, or stiffness, you’re experiencing spasticity. As you navigate stage three of stroke recovery, spasticity can increase, making self-care and other daily activities challenging due to the difficulty in moving your stroke-affected side.
As an occupational therapist, it’s crucial to develop a program to inhibit that spasticity. In this video, Nathan from SKILLS AND WELLNESS, will guide you through inhibitory exercises designed to help you regain movement in your stroke-affected arm.
    The exercises we’ll cover include:
    Gentle Rocking
    Scapular Mobilization
    Muscle Oscillation
    Maintained Stretch
    Gentle Stretch
    Arm Rolling
Remember to consistently practice these exercises for the best results. Let’s work together to overcome the challenges of stroke recovery.

My husband had his stroke Feb.2009 & spent 3 months in rehab. His right side is completely paralyzed and he isn't able to communicate verbally or in writing. We do not have any coverage for special assistance and wondering how to help him. Presently using a large quad cane but is getting more difficult to walk.

You should all know you should never pull your leg or arm that is affected as it can cause it to dislocate from the joint and can cause a lot of pain so don’t pull everything be gentle
