  • In this video, I am going to show you exercises for the first or initial stages of stroke recovery. The first stages of stroke recovery are flaccidity and when spasticity appears. In this stages, there isn’t a complete lack of voluntary movement. If left untreated, the muscles become weaker and they begin to atrophy.
    Occupational Therapy Exercises:
    1. Overhead reaching
    2. Diagonal reaching
    3. Elbow bending
    4. Weight bearing with fingers spread
    5. Forward and back table wiping
    6. Side to side table wiping
    7. Circular table wiping

Thank God! This is what I've been needing to help with my recovery! I wish I'd found you sooner but the important thing is that I found your stroke exercises. They're simple, and you don't go into long messages about the muscles and what's happened to a person and they are exercises a person can do easily.

What if the patient can barely make use of the unaffected arm?
My dad has a stroke and it's 3 months already. The left part is the affected side and it's paralyzed, the arms and thighs are flaccid while the right part which is not affected can barely do anything too but he can move them

Just practice consistently but the cane is there for safety. When you regain motor control and stength, start taking steps with one hand on the wall then progress to without support

Your arm still does not have muscle tone? Use the techniques and then try to move it. The brain is still reconnecting. In time, you will be surprised
