The Dahlia tubers I wrapped in plastic wrap and have in the crisper drawer in the fridge still look great so far. I had planted 12 last season but I had the same problem with gall on them and little blooming. So only 5 looked healthy those are the ones I am trying to keep. Ordered more for this season from swan island , eden bros, and fleur garden nurseries. Also going to try starting some from seed. So excited for spring.

Same here... I think I will grow some flowers this year in a couple of containers so that I can cut flowers and make bouquets for myself and family. I can't wait. 🤗🌻💐😁
Same here, someone tells me I can’t do something I say, watch me. 😄. I used vermiculite on my seedlings and still get some Algae, not as bad as if I didn’t use vermiculite. It is super humid here so that explains it. Then there’s the gnats. I think I am finally starting to get them under control.
Heat wave here so good to see snow at your place. Looks easier to check dahlia tubers in plastic. I made a mess checking in sawdust & found a number shrivelled up near planting time. I'm not having a good season with dahlias...really slow to flower. Sonatini are expensive in Australia so I just grow for self. They will make nice cut flower. 21 Lizzies - room for a prize guessing which one will be first to flower? I'm planning to have a go with anemone & ranunculus seeds this year. Will still plant corms.
