Comparing a car for 60,000 euros vs 140,000 euros...really impressive what Hyundai and Kia have been able to do and will help with EV uptake. Great real-life video.

Exactly who need Porsche any more 😛and pay the exorbitant earnings of German engineers who almost slept through the era of electromobility and at the sight of Tesla they made big eyes, comfortable, lazy dinosaurs.
But seriously, the competition is outpaced by the German automotive industry, which is slowly disappearing like a football team. :P As the Germans say themselves, "Bequemlichkeit macht faul" convenience makes you lazy it really becomes a fact.

@@TWARDOWSKY. Interesting and I think you make a lot of sense. Still, there are plenty of amazing German engineers. Ironic that many of them (and designers) have worked for Hyundai/Kia (BMW's former head of the M division, Albert Biermann, has retired, but he still does consulting work for Hyundai/Kia).

@@alexandergoldman Of course, I am generalizing, but the main thing is that because of their megalomania and overconfidence, they underestimated the competition (eg Tesla), they made fun of them and now they are trying to make up for it. VW ID vs Tesla, come on…🤪But they won't be able to do good things at an affordable price (KIA can do this like we see), because just like they got used to their internal combustion engines, they got used to their shoes with to high German earnings, but this does not follow the horn like of Elon Musk's striving for innovation, because Germans pretty konservative and the do not work hard. I know because I live here but I'm not German. But you have to admit that the highways are great.

I have a 2018 Mercedes GLS350 and a S400 long wheel base and I'm selling both to buy an EV6 and Ioniq5. The Mercs started to literally fall apart from the third year, right after the warranty expired as if the cars were programmed to fail right after the warranty expires. Gearbox, Brakes, Electronics, Sensors, Mechanical parts, they are most probably manufactured to last 3 years and then the manufacturer is making TONS of money by selling maintenance works and parts. I had a similar experience with BMW 740iL. One of the major criteria when choosing a car is how it performs during a crash test. Both Kia and Hyundai EVs are the safest of their segments. Can't wait to get my hands on them.

I am absolutely satisfied with my EV6!! Top car, solid workmanship, excellent equipment, fair price, and last but not least 7 years of guarantee - also on the battery!
When the EV6 came out, I did a lot of research on this vehicle and on alternatives in this price segment. I also did detailed and longer (minimum 2 up to 3 complete battery charges) test drives with a lot of other electric cars e.g. Skoda Enyaq iV 80, Ford mustang Mach E, Audi eTron, Tesla Model 3 and Model Y. I was very disappointed especially with these last two because of the poor processing quality and the insufficient noise insulation (in comparison with the other candidates, loud driving noise, lack of insulation, noise from the chassis and wheels). The Tesla engines: Great! Charge & Travel planning: even better! but otherwise…. overall not exactly a highlight and much less perfect than advertised and expected. Ultimately, after a 2-day test drive, the EV6 was just short ahead of all the other vehicles. Even if there is still room for improvement in terms of charging planning and "cold gate" - which has already been announced by software updates. I still didn't reached 18 minutes for 10-80%, but on average it was only about 22-24 minutes. Other vehicles in this class can only dream of this (including the Tesla mentioned).
The result: I canceled the pre-order for my KIA Sorento Platinum 2.2 Diesel AWD and quickly decided to buy the last available EV6 with AWD here in the Weimar area - and I haven't regretted it!!! Especially on regard of the astronomic petrol price this days, I think this was the absolute right decision!
    100 km range with Diesel @8 liter/100 km with 2,01 EUR/Liter = 16,08 EUR,
    compared to 100 km range @19 kWh/100 km @0,28 EUR/kWh with my EV6 will cost only 5,32 EUR…..
That means: a 500 km drive from Thuringia to Northrine-Westfalia and reverse (1000 km) will cost:
    with diesel = EUR 160,80
    with ⚡️= EUR 53,20
    Any questions ?
Quite apart from the incredible fun of accelerating at any speed. When the Porsche or BMW driver with combustion engine pressing from behind is waiting to overcome the turbo lag, I’m already gone…
Some are amazed, others grin with „thumbs up“, some look slightly disturbed: „WTF, I was left behind by a KIA ???“
    Those looks: unforgettable
Though I got my EV6 AWD since Dec 2021, I ordered the even stronger EV6 GT immediately then, and hope for an early delivery in Germany, probably in early November 2022. Can“t wait for the immense power and acceleration of this car. Even if I am a so called „defensive“ driver, 4WD-Power-torque-acceleration (for me) is a question of safety, not an opportunity to race or compare or mess with other drivers. Having some fun while entering the „Autobahn“, that“s ok, or finishing an overtake within the blink of an eye (safety ☺️). After all, I“m already 66 years old, so you don“t need races anymore…but still some fun with a powerful car from time to time…..Anyone here who wants o buy my EV6 AWD 325 HP then (Standard Edition, first registration 12/2021, in Dec 2022 12.000 km max, color aurora black, 19“winter tires, 20“summer tires, trailer hitch, all available complete packages except sun roof)?

The E-GMP platform is just great all in all.. The software needs a bit of work but I'm very sure the next updates will fix the bigger problems.

Those electric "platforms" are obviously much easier to optimize and there is only so much room to explain the difference with leather seats and other blabla. Seeing also how much car makers struggle with their software platforms it'll be an interesting century ahead for EV producers.

Sit and watch the tractors passing.. an EQS can drive 600km or more..now you are getting close..a car that has 250km range is a joke, when it can drive 800km and be fully charged in less than 15minutes then it's a proper car and something worth looking at. Ask a soldier if a rifle with a 25 to 50 metre range is any good to him? It may be really accurate but it ain't any good, he could do the same job with a pistol..(a Renault Zoe is fit for purpose)..I couldn't take someone to Hamburg Airport and get back home again to Hannover..round trip 300 kilometres if I was driving an ev6...I was driving somebody's 20 year old Fiat the other day..worth 250 euros..it could do that trip easily..too much hype.over lighting, 50 dollar screens and the like..people falling for it hook, line and sinker.

The fact is, while a fossil fuel vehicle still gives you more flexibility, an EV would be sufficient and cost less per mile for a significant portion of the population. And if you are not one of those people, then perhaps as time passes, the technology will catch up to your needs eventually.

220km for a full battery is still way too low if you ask me, but its getting better slowly. I can see myself owning an electric car if the range reaches 350km on a full charge. I see that it still takes quite long to charge it from 5-10% to 100% , usually 35-45 minutes, but considering that used to be 3-4 hours just few years ago its a n improvement. Unfortunately there is barely any charging stations in my country and smaller or less developed countries, so that is a big issue.

Also noticed that when filming and then watching the recording. I can only guess that the video is removing many sensorial variables that are felt when actually driving, and you simply get a "flat" image of the situation. For example, variables removed like 3D visual-spatial perception, vibrations, 3D sounds that also help human balance, increased human awareness/alert (human mind feeling of some danger)...

Yeah EV doesn't make sense for Autobahn. But here in the UK where the speed limit is 112, it's so much better ! I own a RWD of the EV6, and I'm able to to do around 420 km on a single charge, which is "good enough" for me in the winter ! :D

@@svetlinnikolov8710 I traded my Mercedes AMG Cabriolet for a Kia EV6 GT. 250 to 275 miles range is more than enough. I rarely got much beyond 300 miles before refueling the AMG, so not a huge difference. So what are the EV6 advantages? Better fit and finish. Zero emissions charging off my solar grid or 6 bucks to charge vs. 85 bucks for the AMG. My car before the AMG was a Hellcat and I'm pretty happy with the power of the EV6. The design is otherworldly.

@@svetlinnikolov8710 And how much do you spend on fuel to fill your tank compared to charging at home? For me it's less than $10 CAD. How much more will it cost to fill up in the coming weeks as Russian fuel imports are cut off and local stockpiles begin to run dry. We're already seeing an increase in costs here in North America, I assume Europe will experience a greater impact.

The manufacturers of electric cars DONT make the batteries and use the same battery control systems made by external suppliers.. If you think that a Mercedes Benz EQ is going to be somehow better performing than a Kia EV6, your dreaming. Tesla however is at the forefront of electric drive, electric battery tech and battery controllers so they have at least 5 years ahead IMHO.
