Nice drive and passionate owner. Love that he is using his car on the track and enjoying it. Scary scene seeing you almost standing so hard you brakes just after the adenau bridge.
I like that the car dosen't have a loud weird sound pumped in. One of the last ev's sounded like it had a bad wheel bearing noise being pumped in as an "engine" sound.
Agreed. We should be appreciating what EVs can do that ICEs cant rather than trying to poorly imitate them. Similarly I dont like those fake gearshifts a lot of manufacturers are implementing
Great video! Funny, I am taking a Kia Ev 6 GT out for a testdrive tomorrow here from our local KIA dealer. Interesting if it gets two full laps done on the Nordschleife.
According to L'argus, (translation, emphasis mine) "A remarkable thermal management of its battery, which allows it to run THREE laps of the North Loop without losing much of its initial power. No other electric car has ever achieved such a feat, nor has it been able to keep its braking efficiency without resorting to an expensive carbon-ceramic option."
Pretty impressive vehicle coming from KIA. They’ve came a long way in the last 20 years. I prefer a ICE vehicle tho,so I’d get a Stinger GT2/3 personally.
Although I miss the sound of a petrol engine I have to admit that some of these EV cars look pretty fun to drive on the Nordschlife. Being from the US and knowing the current state of our electric charging infrastructure I can’t see myself getting an electric vehicle and taking it across country until things improve. But that is a different story for another day. Would not mind driving one short term for a day on a race track given the right circumstances if the opportunity presented itself.
How often are you going across country? I have an EV and do 99.9% of my charging at home. If I need to do a road trip I rent something way in advance. That small inconvenience is more than worth the much better driving experience and not having to go to a gas station IMO. If you can charge at home EVs are def worth looking into, I know so many enthusiasts who absolutely love them.
@@future62 For me, and yes I realize that I am an exception here, I travel often across country. For me, it makes sense to get a hybrid vehicle for traveling across country despite it being a bit expensive (depending on what you are looking at). And, I am speaking out of my own personal experiences with EVs in general and from what I have read online. That said, I will say this. I can see the benefit of charging at home and driving locally on battery power without having a need to otherwise consume fuel in a conventional vehicle. I was just saying for those that travel across country often and do not want to fly IMO EVs are not there yet to reliably take you accross country without having to stop and recharge multiple times, assuming the infrastructure is there to do so.
@@EstorilE36M345 I have to agree with you on that one. But, to each their own as each person is different. Start with 2.2bar and cold tires, do a lap and release air until you're back at 2.2. Repeat if pressure goes above 2.2 again. In my experience pressures increase by about 0.3-0.4 bar on track, but it will vary from car to car and tyre to tyre, so its best to just see what your car and tires do. Driving with slightly high pressures on track is in no way dangerous :)
Low 9's seems to be the average 100-200 for the EV6 GT according to various youtube videos. But power to weight ratio between this and a Volvo 850 at 375 hp is roughly the same, so it's not all that strange?

no, ion5n has the new and bigger battery, difference suspension, new infotainment and exclusive N software management. 2025 EV6 GT will try to match the specs but Kia is taking a different approach than Hyundai's in terms "sound engine", Kia will not do that fake sound or fake shift which is fine.
