I gotta say, I was skeptical when you announced you'd be switching from 4 hours to 1-1.5ish, but the frequent episodes are pretty dang nice.

It’s like increasing training frequency to increase total volume

6:45 hmmmm,. A protein bar for breakfast, a protein shake for lunch, and a sensible dinner... Sounds a hell of a lot like Jenny Craig to me! LOL...

Not off-puttingly-sciency enough. Frankly I've been hoping for homework. And harsh grades.

The quality of the show has definitely taken a hit since the union strong-armed management into making such dramatic changes to the workforce

Here's hoping Eric abandons this whole "enlightenment" thing and takes the situation firmly in hand.

John Kiefer reference! I was one of the plebes duped by that grifter. Maybe 5 years ago, Mike Israetel (who I never heard of at the time) went off on a rant about how kiefer's a charlatan and I was perplexed since I managed to lose alot of weight with Kiefers protocol. But as I learned more about health and fitness and became frustrated by gassed muscles unable to tap into glycogen with diminished CHOox ability from the cyclical keto dieting and losing muscle, I eventually realized how almost everything keifer says is misleading or wrong. It's very embarrassing that i followed most of what he said like gospel but the experience taught me to be skeptical of those who extrapolate from mechanistic speculation in defiance of human outcomes and scientific consensus. The dude had the gall to besmirch Schoenfeld and Aragon about how they are ignorant or don't understand science or some shit. It's pretty funny if you go back to his old podcasts and pay attention to what he says and how he says it. He's a master manipulator and I feel sorry for anyone who's giving him any money to support his endeavors.

Eric, I adore your science communication (1:24:00) and think it is very virtuous and noble of you to compliment your guest-co-host for his cover-story (4:23) even tho he sadly is a unionized pleb!

This sounds a lot like the velocity diet. You just drink protein shakes all day and then have one solid meal at the end of the day.

Could you guys address why no one talks about Greg Nuckols in the opening scene of Jean-Claude Van Damme's Hard Target by John Woo from 1993? Brilliant performance.

Modified protein as you described has been my go to for like a decade now. Its been my easiest way to regulate weight but stay focused on lifting goals.

I did strict OMAD for about 2 years straight when I started lifting, and even with the poor protein distribution, I still made good newbie gains. Eventually, I realized I’d need to spread out protein feedings to keep progressing, but from a lifestyle perspective, I disliked having a bunch of small meals all day.
So I organically stumbled upon this strategy as well, and I still use it to this day, personally. Small protein feedings earlier in the day, perhaps carbs+protein before a hard training session, then one giant meal to end the day.
It’s surprisingly lifestyle-friendly because most social outings are dinners or meetups in the evening, so having ~90% of my daily calories to play with for those times is incredibly helpful.
