Zermatt recently opened a new cable car that provides a second connection to glacier paradise from the Italian side of the border. There is now a ticket that allows you to go from Zermatt to Cervinia and vice versa. 90 mins ride each way! Ticket called Matterhorn alpine crossing.
Thanks for the helpful commentary and great views. A suggestion for you to let viewers know which month you visited for each place so we know what to expect from the scenery. Thanks!
Hello Ollie, we planning we trip to switzerland and will be staying at zermatt for 2 nights from 17-19 oct. Been watching a lot of your videos for useful tips and sharing, very informative. Can i check with you on something regarding matterhorn glacier paradise vs Gornergrat. Because we only have one full day in zermatt on 18 Oct, do you recommend we dedicate that full day for glacier paradise or Gornergrat? Which one will need more time if we are taking it slow and easy, enjoying the scenery the view etc. Then we will do the other one the following day before we leave the city around late afternoon.
Tq for the lovely vidoe..btw, do you know if we can play snowtubing either in at glacier paradise or gornegrat. (We will visiting zermatt in mid of September). Tq
It is possible but i don’t advise it Cus it is not worth the money. would be too rushed (especially in winter)when the sun sets by 5pm and ur time is short! Between the two, I will go with Gornergrat as it has a more classic view.
Peeerfect!! Hello, the Swiss Pass gives a discount on some tours, for example for the Gornergrat, how do I buy the Ticket for this mountain and use the Pass to pay less? If I leave to buy there I run the risk of not getting a place? Thank you!
Awesome Olivia❤ ..super nice and informative sharing as usual. Can i check if its required to get the tickets in advance or can get it when we are there? Many thanks❤
A lot depends on the snow conditions so although technically yes, they may also still close it if there’s not enough snow. Always best to check on the day itself. Glad you enjoyed the video and please subscribe to support the channel!
What was it like doing Zermatt as a day trip previously? Did you get the train there and back and how much time did you stay in Zermatt before heading back to Geneva?
Gotta leave really early at like 7am to reach at 10plus. Finished the day at about 4.30pm, then train back. Reached home at about 8-9pm. It’s manageable but tiring but if u only have one single day that’s how it’s gotta work
@@Olliechinny yeah there are bus companies that do day tours there and back. Might be better to do a few nights there and then get train back to the airport for the flight home. I’m thinking to going to Zermatt but first visiting chamonix for around a week, then staying 4 days in Geneva and then maybe a few nights in Zermatt
Hi Olivia! If I would like to visit Grindelwald and Zermatt over a few days (3-4 days), where will be a good place to stay for a base to travel to and fro? :)
Grindelwald and Zermatt are in two different cantons. There is no one particular “BASE” for u to visit both. you should transfer from one to another. If u do it as a daytrip, u waste a lot of travel time in a day
Thanks for this video. What month was this travel to Zermatt? We plan to go visit Zermatt in October this year. Thank you in advance for any information.
Is the Standard fare rail Ticket from Zermatt to Gonergrat inclusive of the Zooom the Matterhorn and Toboggan run at Rotenboden? Or these activities would need to be purchased separately?
Hi, Is Toboggan run included in Ticket to Gornergrat? did you reserve table at Riffelhause? I'm going to Zermatt in April too, but i think i only do Gornergrat.
For example if i go to Zermatt and buy the 4-Day Ticket Pass (Youth) and combined with the Peak2Peak ticket for Gronegrat and Glacier Paradise on same day, how can I use both of them in same time?
You need to buy the sledding pass in order to return back to the same statin eg Rotenboden. Otherwise; with the return ticket, you only can enter each station stop once

Hai Sister, did u go there in spring this year? As I will go there this autumn, just want to know to bring the "winter" jacket or not as I am from tropical country 😁 thank you in advance
Hi, I went in spring in April. For autumn, it will be slightly chilly so I recommend you to bring either a windbreaker or a winter jacket suited for 10-18 degrees.
Nice video, very informative! 😍 Did you just bought the toboggan run tickets from there itself? Or should we book in advance? And is there any price difference?
Hi, you can check out details on my Instagram stories on Zermatt! @olliechinny I show how to reach the viewpoint. You can start going there from 6am, the sunrise should be about 6.50am.
Hi Ollie, thanks for this amazing video.. Can you tell is gornergrat always covered in snow year round? as i plan my trip to Zermatt in 9th October.. Or we should go to Klein Matterhorn to experience snow if we're going there in mid October? Thank you 😊
I have a question. Matterhorn has an altitude of 4478 m while Jungfraujoch has an altitude of 4158m. Then how is jungfraujoch the highest point of Europe ? Is it not Matterhorn then ? Can you clarify
Jungfraujoch is NOT the highest point of Europe (that title belongs to the Dom). Jungfraujoch is the highest TRAIN STATION in Europe. They just marketed it very well that’s all.
I really like the style of your vlog :) Thanks for sharing. I really want to visit the Matterhorn but my plans changed and my time in Switzerland needed to but cut short.. :( now I do not think is the best time of year to go? + I do not hold any kind of passes at the moment and will be leaving in 2 weeks.
