That is great to hear. Next time, you know where to go to find things out about your CJ :) Make sure you've subscribed because I will have a bunch of new videos coming that will cover a lot of the things I didn't cover with my first restoration. Plus I'm looking to redo some of the videos that don't go into enough detail.
Mr. Cool Guy as usual another good informative video, I tell people if they want to see a full nut and bolt tear down, that they need to watch your channel . When you build it they will come. Anyways could you show us how you are storing and keeping all the parts organized. Thanks and a shout out from Snohomish WA.
I know it's been a long time since you suggested this, but look for a video coming from Cool Guys workshop on what my setup looks like and how I've managed to do what I did to the CJ7.
Hey there, so do I need to drain the fluid out of the Dana 300 before I drop it, or will it go everywhere? I'm rebuilding the transmission so I'm not going to be messing with the transfer case.
If you placed a jack stand under the transmission and removed the skid plate entirely, would that give you a clear path to remove all the TC to tranny bolts?
I don’t understand your question. What I think you’re asking is why does it have a T5 when most commonly the T4 was selected when the CJ was purchased. They are essentially the exact same transmission where the T5 has one more gear on the main drive shaft. All the other components are the same which is why most of the transmission shops actually change the T4 to a 5 speed when they rebuild them.
Got both. The 84 with the T5 and the Dana 300 was my first restoration. Then came the 79 (T150) and the Dana 20. I had an old school transmission guy do the T5 and Dana 300 for me because I didn’t know enough. I then rebuilt the T150 and Dana 20 and learned a lot.
Absolutely correct. Sometimes as im going through and shooting these videos, I misstate the name of things and dont realize till I'm in productuon that I said the wrong thing. At that point it's too late. :) Thanks for calling that out for everyone to be properly informed. Just failing my way to the top.
I spent an hour online trying to locate a photo where the speedometer cable connects to the transfer case. Thank you @ 1:40 seconds.

I would reco doing that just for maintenance purposes. Plus it will hopefully help to control the amount of fluid that spills all over the:)

Where was this suggestion when I was filing it? :) Great build and a much less laborious way of doing it.
Hello Cool JEEP Guy. Is that the Non World Class or the World Class T5? Thank you very much.
Non world class. It's an AMC so there was nothing world class ever installed :)
How it has a t5 wen most common IA a t4

Hey cool guy. Man I'm confused. Do you have a dana 300 or a dana 20? You working on 2 cj7's?
