1973 Jeep CJ-5 Complete Teardown: Engine, Transmission, Transfer Case, Axles, Dash, and Tub Removal

Today we bring into the shop this sweet CJ-5. Pretty sure this thing was almost all original, including the bailing wire holding the shift linkage together. This was equipped with the AMC 258 and the odometer read 39K and I think it may have been the actual mileage. That old inline 6 looked like it was barely broken in, and it had great compression. Hooked up to that old tractor motor was the T14 3 Speed transmission mated with a Dana 20 transfer case. We can't forget about the Dana 30 and 44 axles with 3.73 gear ratio.
Unfortunately, this old beauty was destined for destruction. We completely tear this thing down to the frame and strip all the parts so that other Jeeps may live on.

Great video of the dismantle of the jeep! great job as well! I have a lot (several drawers) old craftsmen (20 to 30 years old) as well as some old snap on wrenches (thin models) 5 in standard as well as a few box end also in standard (not thin). Great set, got them from my dad. keep on jeepin! I'm on my 8th one, already looking to dump the TJ and going back to a 72-75 CJ

Yes, we are. Check FN Jeep, I belive that one has sold, but we should have other ones.
