    • @sadz8615
      @sadz8615 4 ปีที่แล้ว +80

      Joe Cramp that’s very true. There’s certain teachers who are too kind for their own good which results in them not being able to control a class. And in regards to your comment about school uniform, I disagree. As much as I hated school uniform at the time I feel as though there are kids who are less fortunate than others and with own clothes it would really show resulting in self esteem issues or even worse... bullying.

      @@sadz8615 I do see your point about people being less fortunate and self asteem issues but as you said some people are less fortunate and cannot afford a uniform aswell as cloths they were at home and is just spending extra money on some thing they don't use out of school and and as I said some people can't afford the uniform or some bits of it in result the child is getting punished for it with detention write outs and some times suspension

    • @katielololol
      @katielololol 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Gacha Sisters I understand your point, but if the parents wore to come into the school for a meeting about that, I’m sure a solution would’ve been made. I think their own clothes would be something that would cause bullying or maybe just anxiety because they wouldn’t have branded clothes or as much clothes if they wore less fortunate, they would feel like everyone is looking and laughing to judging them.

    I grew up in the UK, had an extremely tough time at home and was permanently expelled from all local schools in the catchment area and out of education completely by the age of just 13 (year 9) and I loveeee the teacher that says permanent exclusion isn't the answer. He is so right. All of my being shoved from here to there and anywhere and nobody just questioning my behaviour and talking to me just reinforced my mistrust in adults and made me keep quiet about my home situation for longer. Big respect to this man.

      I had a shit time with education too. I got anger issues, and I called a really strict geography teacher a bitch. This ended up with me in isolation, after school detention and lunch detention for a whole week and it made me depressed. I was punished a lot in the awful school that I was in. It still exists today (it is not in Essex), and I eventually got expelled after a situation with my enemy. I been bullied a lot in that same school too, my mum wanted to sue them for what they did to the 13 year old me. She never got to do it as she passed away from epilepsy last year. Mr Drew’s heart is definitely in the right place, but his voice is so incredibly condescending that I understand why some students dislike him. He was even so condescending to the teachers, such as when he tried to get a teacher to tell Carmelita’s parents for him.
    Not only that, but Carmelita’s mum arguing with the teacher is COMPLETELY fair. Yes, carmelita lied, but her mum didn’t know that. In her mum eyes, her daughter had just been wrongly grabbed by a teacher. As a parent, obviously she’s immediately believe her daughter until it’s proven she was lying? That’s just natural?

    • @fliksc9786
      @fliksc9786 4 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      This is why we have a legal system governed by the assumption of innocence and not guilt, it's also important to remember the fact that the child got to a point where they could make a 'false accusation', it isn't just a lie, but rather an indication of something more sinister in their background. You may find many teachers likeable and some unlikable, but it's the respect, regardless of your feelings that is really important.
      Just because something is natural, it doesn't mean it is right, or even well-considered.

    • @shallalalrazzmatazz5197
      @shallalalrazzmatazz5197 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      FlikSC i mostly agree but in the case of assault, false accusations make up a tiny proportion. of course it shouldn’t be taken lightly, but any mother should support their child when it comes to stuff like this. she should still have a massive punishment though

    • @yey8288
      @yey8288 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Jennifer Brown No one is saying that she’s in the right. Even IF her mother knows she’s mouthy and rude, you’re telling me that as a mother, if your daughter came home and told you that a teacher at her school assaulted you, you wouldn’t be angry? You wouldn’t defend your child? It’s natural motherly instinct to protect your child if you think they’re being hurt in a place they’re supposed to be safe. Her mother acted as correctly as she could’ve in that situation.

    • @fetchstixRHD
      @fetchstixRHD 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      While it may be the “natural” instinct to believe your people (bear in mind the teachers did the exact same thing as the mother), it’s not a good thing always. Of course you should have a relationship with your “people” where there’s honesty and trust, however especially when it comes to more serious and objective accusations there should at least some effort made to find the actual truth first.

    • @yey8288
      @yey8288 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      fetchstix™ Yeah no I’m going to have to very much disagree. If my daughter came to me and told me that she had been assaulted (bear in mind that is the wording she used), then my first instinct would be to immediately complain to school. If it came to me that my child and other children were at risk, that’s the first action to take. At the end of the day, you truly cannot expect parents to act fully rationally when their child has said a teacher has physically harmed them to some capacity.

We are doing children no favours whatsoever when we constantly give in to their demands and condone their petty little whims and fancies. The new generation are growing up without taking any responsibility for their actions. The blame always rests elsewhere and they have come to expect all their demands to be satisfied. A generation of narcissists with no values and no common decency.

      Praz Yeah I think that having more a fun teacher though makes lessons more enjoyable though. If I’m school I have a strict teacher I automatically hate that lesson, loose intrest in it and just don’t try at all. I do think that been a fun teacher genuinely gives people motivation to acctually try harder

    It’s odd to think these children are between the age of 23 and 28 now... I’ve left secondary school now and I was in infants school when this was filmed, yet educating greater Manchester was only filmed a few years ago when I was in the middle of secondary school. It’s interesting to look back on my secondary school and also compare it with this school and Harrop Fold.

    I completely disagree with this strict uniform policy, it's taken over a common-sense approach to weather conditions, and also children in high school are going through puberty so need understanding, not conflict.

    • @NickMusselle
      @NickMusselle 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @oooi i would be putting the children first not my own ego, the childrens education is more important than bloody uniform.

    • @NickMusselle
      @NickMusselle 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @oooi but which is the most important?

    • @NickMusselle
      @NickMusselle 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @oooi where i see your point about being mutually exclusive they can affect each other. like in this series, having an over stric uniform policy andhaving a go at the pupils day in day out, they will just rebel, and probably start hating school. that is not nurturing our next generations, and obviously not every child is the same or as inteligent as you.

    • @NickMusselle
      @NickMusselle 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @oooi that's my point they are not 100% exclusive, they affect each other, we have to remember there could be many life- changing things happening, like divorce, death of a parent or an other family member. and yes there are bad parents out there, however, i would like to think the majority of parents want the best for their children.

      Wearing 'normal' clothes can often be the cause of bullying and a lot of kids don't need any more excuses to treat their peers like shit. It also prepares them for the work force, since they may go into very formal jobs and if they don't they at least understand how to dress for a job and what's expected of them on someone elses clock.
