So yeah compared to these teachers Mr Hennessy is an Angel, but also I’ve never met him.
Mr Hennessy is amazing he almost made me cry, definitely has a soft side for everyone and works great in his job making sure all students are safe, but also making sure they’re punished properly for their misbehaviour and actions. So lovely

Hes an amazing guy, smart and very kind but he can put you in your place when needed, my first day in class he sent someone out and yelled so loud it scared the living shiz outta me. Funny enough, I was watching her on the verge of bombing out with zero qualifications and she ended up with better results than me and I was one of the high-achievers at my school. Quite a humbling revelation!

The headteacher was concerned that socially she was lagging behind, despite being very intelligent. She was in danger of becoming a socially-isolated adult. She wasn't trying to get her to conform to the norm, but instead was helping her to prepare for the real world. Getting her to edit the newspaper was a clever way to channel her ability and enthuisiasm in a way that involved her cooperating with others, rather than sticking in a bubble. Great teaching imo

Trust me it doesn't work in the professional world, there's much more to life than studying and exams, she may have the intellect but there's always someone with just as good grades, you need to have good social skills with other people and be very articulate to go far in life.
You can see she's generally quite uncomfortable talking with others, and has extremely low confidence. Obviously it depends on what type of job you get but it's not all just about working hard, you need other skills as well.

I started with educating yorkshire. I'm now binge watching this and the occasional episode really does make you tear up. It's teacher's like Mr Hennessy that are not credited enough. All teachers are amazing but the special few like him need some extra credit. I hope he reads this one day. Keep up the amazing work sir. You make me want to subscribe to a PMA and I'm 34. I blame Leahs parents for her issues. Especially knowing the brother and sister also had the same issues with attendance/dropping out and not putting in effort. It’s sad, because Mr. Hennessy is going above and beyond his duty as a teacher to help her.

I absolutely agree. She is a top student and a lovely girl who is definitely going to go far in life. People who lower themselves to make fun of a girl like Jessica must be jealous that they never cared enough to go their own way and actually try at their education.
she said in an update that she didn't like how she was portrayed - i.e them making it seem like she had no friends, when she did have a group of friends in the school. she's done well for herself at least.

Jessica will be absolutely fine without having to adapt her personality to the real world...her personality is good! She's driven, hard working, sensitive and so much more organised than a lot of adults. The teachers are making it sound like it's abnormal at school... 'quirky...really?!'
Trust me it doesn't work in the professional world, there's much more to life than studying and exams, she may have the intellect but there's always someone with just as good grades, you need to have good social skills with other people and be very articulate to go far in life.
You can see she's generally quite uncomfortable talking with others, and has extremely low confidence. Obviously it depends on what type of job you get but it's not all just about working hard, you need other skills as well.
