Yeah, the deuce is definitely not something that's great for transporting "sensitive" equipment.
I daily drive mine, it's one way I can "America" and running it off of filtered used motor oil also allows me to give our current administration and fuel prices the middle finger😆

I bought a Deuce, and now all these "LIFTED CHEVY, FORD, DODGE" owners HATE because I cross an 8' lake. And climbed a steep rocky hill on IDLE and taking down trees on the way up.

That looks bad ass! I got a 70 m35a2 with the Hercules and the D turbo ( the one you took off). I hope to paint mine like yours but for now it’s marshmallow white lol. Also since you put those supers on there be sure to look up about flipping your rear hubs it will help with the wear and tear on your wheel bearings. There’s a lot of threads about it on steal soldiers!
I have a 69 Jeep Kaiser. Flipping the hubs help so all the tires are in line and no chances of rubbing, especially the front when turning.

This is a suggestion, you should get Liqui Moly diesel purge, there is youtube videos on how to use it, it makes the engine run better, and work better.

Appreciate it! I might keep this one I have a couple other big military trucks I’m looking to get as well, 5 and 7 ton trucks.
As for Superduty trucks, I'm working on a 1988 right now. Even I didn't know they started that early. But Ford's new lineup in '99 is the new current line.
Back then, the 450 and 550 was the only truck offered in the superduty lineup. It wasn’t until 99 that you could get a 3/4 and 1 ton in a superduty

Sick deuce brother! I got a very similar build, same wheels and tires. You plan on upgrading the power steering? Mine ain’t budging from a dead stop lol. I thought my compressor was out for the steering but I’ve seen a lot of guys do hydraulic conversions. Sounds dangerous at higher speeds though.
Appreciate it! I’m going to leave steering alone for now. It doesn’t move east at slow speeds but once going, it’s fine
Hell yeah brothers!! I just got a 69 m35a2 with C turbo. She sounds amazing. I just feel sorry for the men that had to drive them for a job. And want out for that steering wheel it will take your thumbs off

Now you have to join Steel Soldiers and go to one of the rallies they have in your vicinity. Very fun, good people, and if there's something you're looking for or need to diagnose, there's always someone on there who knows what it is. Plus they have all the TM's on there. Something you definitely want to have available for your truck!

@@Legacygarage1 last I heard Memphis equipment still sells power steering for those trucks and the five tons, new kits. They also sell fiberglass and steel hard tops and lock out hubs for the front axle
Where did you get the mrap wheels? Did you need adapters?Lol just saw the part where you installed the adapters. Is there a kit that comes with adapters and bolts? Those mrap wheels are just standard wheels? Cant seem to find this setup for my duece and a half
There was a guy about 2 hours from me that had them. I found them on marketplace. The adapters, it had the bolt size on the website. I honestly don’t remember the size or website, I found them on EBay.

eBay. Look up m35a2 whistler turbo. Mine came from seco parts
Super Duty came out in 1999.
Man, at first I was worried that the rear tires wouldn't fit when you started mounting the first one.
Lol I made sure they would before I bought it all. If not then I would have just bobbed it 😂
There's about an inch in between the two rear tires. 46" is the biggest you can go on a tandem for the deuce, bigger for the 5 tons.

2 Serious questions:
1) does the motor have any issues with running USED Motor oil for prolonged periods?
2) is a duck and a half, Hardened against a EMP attack?

Haha, doesn’t affect it. Motor was built to run on anything combustible. I usually mix it with ATF, used oil, diesel.
And yes. A EMP will not affect it.
Very cool, but I can’t imagine the cost of rotating the tires or even the tire replacement, those thing look like they cost like $500 a tire
Very affordable. I believe the tires were around $250-$300. But keep in mind, these tires will last years because it’s not something you drive daily.

Why do people always swap for the bigger tires like that I don't understand on a 5 ton it looks good on a m35a2 it does not
I personally think it looks mean as shit and like it. That’s the look I was going for. I guess people have different styles of what they like 🤷🏼♂️
Nothing wrong with bigger tires. They are a whole lot better than the NDT tires on every way. Not to mention you can cruise comfortably at 55mph without over revving the engine.

I bought the humvee from Matt speed who owned custom combat trucks. He unfortunately passed away a few months ago. But demo ranch sold the humvee to Matt speed. Sooo not sure what you’re trying to say here? Plus this is a deuce and a half, not a 5 ton. 2 totally different trucks.
@@Legacygarage1 what I was trying to say is demo ranch Matt character used to own the Humvee yes he has a 5 ton yes you have a one ton yes you both have military vehicles yes but it seems like what he does you do.
